Casey's Attorney Wants Justification For Possible Death Sentence
Friday, December 5, 2008 – updated: 1:28 pm EST December 5, 2008

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's defense attorney, Jose Baez, wants the legal justification for a possible death sentence in his client's case.

Since prosecutors have not ruled out the death penalty, Baez thinks it's only fair to have time to prepare to fight it. It could be an indication the defense realizes a first-degree murder conviction is possible.

Meanwhile, prosecutors have added to their witness list. There are now 144 people on it.

WTF...he wants legal justification? I'll give him legal justification....how about she was drugging her defenseless child so she could go out and party, she killed her child and disposed of her body, she lied to the local LE and the FBI.....how's that for starters Jose Baby!!

OK, I have a question. After KC's trial and say she gets off these charges, they can then go after her for the checks, right? I mean they were talking some good years in prison over those checks.

They should do the 'checks charges first...that way of she is convicted of that, she will be a convicted felon THEN hammer her on murder 1

i as a mother of 2 boys, 2 grandsons, and 2 granddaughters have seen lots of tears and sad faces which were expected at the time (climbing on things, discipline, etc.) but that pic of caylee is disturbing to me because she is holding her little arms up begging for someone to comfort her.  regardless of why she was crying, i just wish someone had picked her up and tried to make her feel more secure.  sorry...i'm kind of soft hearted when it comes to babies.
