What I knew When -

On June 10-11 weekend ("confession") I figured the place was corrupt, and the cops hadn't gotten the latest SOP memo yet - the one that explained what to do if JVDS confessed or the 2Ks fingered him.

Natalee's 20th birthday will be coming up in less than 2 weeks.  Who wants to do a prayer chain, or have a prayer hour?

I have become quite the emoticon thief!  I "collect" them everywhere I read, lol!

I agree with your post but worse yet, that was the weekend van der Straaten was out and Dompig was in!  Confusion reigned until Monday when oddly enough van der Straaten was magically back in despite his retirement being due.  

He had suddenly decided, out of the goodness of his heart to stay on the case!  Even with his retirement party imminent, he managed to chase Dompig back out of office so as to be available to micro-manage the questioning.

Very early it was said he destroyed Joran's confession claiming Joran was questioned outside the hours allowed for the interrogation of a juvenile.  I wonder what would have happened if those who did not know the plan had remained in charge.  Would that have made a difference?

But with the "decoys" from Sharon's review, we don't know if what we were told was true or deliberate misinformation.

What did they gain with these "decoys" if they were not engaged in a cover up for they could have thrown off honest witnesses and people who had some real information to share because of making them think they were mistaken or something didn't happen the way they remembered it.

In retrospect Renfro's involvement early on only confirms to me she was relegated to confuse and keep Beth busy with distractions and wild goose chases. Viet vet confirmed the ALE did this too, and I do think the decoys were part of Stratten's plan. I even feel Janssen was involved in it then. The island is too small and the cover-up too large, for most if not all to have been involved or with knowledge of it at some level. I have however wondered if Dompig was too low on the totem pole to have been an early insider, or trusted to keep his mouth shut but ultimately he participated too eventually.

Dompig was the one who made the "confession" statement (as quoted by Associated Press). That's why he got grounded and Jan VDS back on top.

I wish I shared your belief.  

Where is elsewhere and what has occurred there?  I am not aware of even a shred of a trace elsewhere.  There were private detectives sent to the S. American mainland and also surrounding islands with reward notices, etc. but nothing.

I guess if I thought she were still alive I would try to get the reward to work for somebody would have to know about her, proably lots of people.  It is likely one of them would tell for $1million.
