Caylee Anthony Update: Several Items of Interest Found

Meanwhile, a source inside the Orange-Osceola State Attorney's Office has said that the death penalty that was recently taken off the table would be reconsidered if the remains are proven to be Caylee. It was just one week ago that the state attorney's office announced they would not seek the death penalty against Anthony in the first-degree murder of Caylee.

LP pinpointed Lee Vista Blvd and the pings which was the exact time she disposed of the body. He was right on. I posted Econlockhatchee Trail which is parallel from his description. So he knew the area, it was just a matter of time before the remains surfaced.
Casey put the body there, probably in a shallow grave and hurricane Fay soaked the area and put it underwater. Then when the water receded it washed away the top soil and revealed the bag. Some guy took a pee and yay, Caylee was found. Just like Lacy Peterson washed up in perfect time.

Morning all Monkeys.

Since I'm "ping" challenged, does this mean that KC was talking to someone on her cell at the place where she disposed of Caylee's body?

I'm "ping challenged too, but I think as long as the phone is powered on, it is pinging?!?!?!

I see monkeys are busy again today.  Think in terms of small when you try to guess as to what they found in the bag.  That duct tape will be a treasure trove of evidence.   Hopefully, it will have epithelial cells from her body, hair, blood, fingerprints, etc.  The vacuums and things removed from the Anthony's house tells me they are looking for "small" things....bugs..maggots...to match what was found in the trunk and on the remains. A certain kind of plant or foliage that may have been attached to other places inside the bag.  It would go a long way to proving she was at the Anthony's after she died.  Sand that is particular to the back yard or even consistent with only particular areas of Orlando. And let's not forget this...jewelry....was Caylee's ears pierced?  Was she wearing a ring or necklace?  Photos of what she was wearing, etc.

CSI was looking for something of substance that could be matched.  The duct tape is what I am thinking.  All they need is something that was also wrapped in duct tape from the garage.  If it does not match then they have to obtain duct tape from other places such as Tony's or whoever she may have borrowed things from.  LE is playing catch up trying to find what matches what, but I feel sure they have a pretty good handle on things at this point.

As for Casey...no sympathy from me...she did what she did. The LE had already taken the death penalty off the table. Their evidence was sketchy to prove first degree murder.  Then the unimaginable happened.....God intervened!

If there is clothing found, do you guys think it will verify what George said she was wearing 6/16 or will it help the story about the babysitter?

I wonder if GA possibly did see her body in the trunk, and gave the description of her clothes in case she was found. They could still claim it was zanny. I don't think that I believe that though! If someone other than KC disposed of her, I don't think they would have left her there. I believe they would have travelled much further away. I really think they didn't know anything before they retrieved the car. That's when they went into protecting KC mode, maybe helping cover up "just in case". I just don't think she admitted a thing to them, I don't think she could have.

Thinking outloud

George made that comment about the body in his daughters trunk was not his granddaughter

A monkey here made a comment about whoever got rid of the body was treating it like a thing an object

On the 24th Casey was on her myspace when George said they got into it about getting the wheel chock from the trunk..

Many have speculated George found Caylee that day and possibly had Casey stay home while he "dumped" the body (we discussed this VERY early on here)

Is it possible George did take Casey car on the 24th "dump" the body around the corner and come right back because he couldnt stand the smell...

Maybe his comment about that not being his granddaughter was his brain trying to rationalize what he found...
That in his mind his grandaughter was still alive and bubbly and all that Caylee was...
But what he found was not CAYLEE, Hence it being easier for him to dispose of her...

Maybe Casey freaked because whoever "dumped" the body assured her it wouldnt be found...
Police are looking into reports of somone else in that area....

SO they found something at the scene that led them to the A's and they found something at the A's house."Absolutely" was the word used about finding something at the A's..

SO I am thinking this has to be something that is obvious to the eye...A match possibly (like the necklaces) possibly two different items.  I cant see Beary saying "Absolutely" if it was an item(s) that had to go through scientific exams to be linked, I believe it is something that LE could look at and say "YES"!

Of course they could be bluffing to really scare the crap out of the A's

But what could it be? Do we know for sure the body had no clothing? Why strip the child down and then throw in a cross or a toy? Just tihnking out loud ...

just a thought but maybe a picture in the home of what ever was in the bag her  hairband , whatever she may have been wrapped in, or other sentimental item

Sheriff: Evidence Links Remains Of Child To Caylee Anthony Home
Missing Caylee Last Seen In Mid-June

POSTED: 6:36 am EST December 12, 2008
UPDATED: 10:10 am EST December 12, 2008

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A medical examiner found evidence among a child's remains that link them to the home of Caylee Anthony's grandparents, the county sheriff said Friday, offering the strongest indication yet that the remains may be those of the missing 3-year-old girl.

Orange County Sheriff Kevin Beary said investigators searched the home late Thursday night into early Friday morning after the medical examiner found "some clues that came out of the remains" that "linked it to the house." He would not say what clues were found.

"We took some things out of the house that the forensic people are very interested in," he said.

The remains were found Thursday by a utility worker on a wooded lot less than a half-mile from the house where Caylee lived with her grandparents and her mother, Casey Anthony.

Casey Anthony, 22, was charged in October with first-degree murder, even though the toddler's body has not yet been found. She has insisted that she left the girl with a baby sitter in June, but she didn't report Caylee missing until July.

Beary said his investigators and the FBI would work around the clock and through the weekend to identify the child.

Asked if he believed if the remains are Caylee, Beary said: "I think it's a good possibility, but I have to wait seven to 14 days for the DNA analysis."

There are no other missing-child cases in the area.

"I say my prayers every day and one of them is to solve this case," said Beary, who is retiring in January. "I just hope that we solve the case on my watch."

Evidence Removed From Home

Crime scene detectives late Thursday night removed bags and boxes of evidence from the home after the discovery.

Authorities obtained a search warrant for George and Cindy Anthony's Hopespring Drive home in east Orange County, and investigators were seen removing seven large paper bags and four boxes of evidence. They also seized four vacuum cleaners and two pesticide tanks.

The search occurred after an Orange County utility worker who reads water meters found the remains in a plastic bag while relieving himself in a wooded area about 12 feet off Suburban Drive near South Chickasaw Trail. A skull that had duct tape on it and clothing were found nearby, Local 6 News reported.

Detectives said they will continue to comb the area, which has been surrounded by crime tape.

"We'll be back out bright and early," Orange County sheriff's Sgt. John Allen said.

Earlier on Thursday, the girlfriend of Casey Anthony's brother, Lee Anthony, showed up at his parents' house but was escorted out. It is not known why she went into the home.

A Texas-based search team looking for Caylee had searched the area where the remains were found, but the wooded area was flooded at the time.

"I know it's going to take a few days to get a positive ID, but there's no other missing children in this area, let alone three-tenths of a mile from the home, so I have no doubts," EqquSearch leader Tim Miller said.

Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, filed an emergency motion on Thursday to participate in forensic testing on the remains, if they are determined to be that of Caylee.

The hearing will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the Orange County courthouse and will be streamed live on Local6.com. Casey Anthony will not attend the hearing.

'Very Strong Lead'

Beary said on Thursday that the remains are "a very strong lead in solving the case" involving Caylee.

Beary confirmed that the skull of a child had been recovered. Deputies said it's too early to tell if the remains, which were later taken away in a medical examiner's van, are that of Caylee.

"We've had thousands of people who've got tremendous hearts who have come out and search for little Caylee, and this is a very tough situation for everybody that's been involved in this case, but this is probably a lead toward that closure," Beary said.

Local 6 News reporter Jessica D'Onofrio confirmed that the remains are likely that of a girl. D'Onofrio said the worker saw the bag, opened it, saw the remains of a child and called 911.

"Deputies did respond to that area, and once we were on the scene, we determined that we do have the remains of a young child. Obviously, our concern is that it's in close proximity to some recent activity in that part of the county, and it's incumbent upon us to determine what we have," said Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Solomons, referring to the Casey Anthony case.

The age and gender of the remains are not known.

"It would be inappropriate to speculate," Orange County sheriff's Capt. Angelo Nieves said. "Our investigators are on scene, evaluating and processing the situation. It's very early."

Leonard Padilla, a bounty hunter who initially bailed Casey Anthony out of jail and has searched for Caylee, said, "It's a bittersweet day."

"We drove by (the wooded area where the remains were found) dozens of times. We heard that there were searches going on in that area," Padilla said.

Cindy Anthony first called authorities in July to say she hadn't seen Caylee for a month and her daughter's car smelled like death.

Police immediately interviewed Casey Anthony and said that everything she told them about her Caylee's whereabouts was false.

Casey Anthony said she left Caylee with a baby sitter named Zenaida Gonzalez at an Orange County apartment complex, and the two were missing when she returned to pick up Caylee. Detectives said the baby sitter was nonexistent and the apartment where Anthony said she had last seen Caylee had been empty for months. Anthony also lied about where she worked, detectives said.

As the case unfolded, troubling details emerged. Photos of Anthony partying after her daughter went missing surfaced. Friends said she was a habitual liar, but they also said that she was a good mother.

Earlier this month, the Orange County state attorney turned over almost 800 pages of documents, which showed someone at the Anthony home had done Internet searches for terms like "neck breaking" and "household weapons."

In mid-March, someone used the Anthonys' home laptop to search Google and Wikipedia for peroxide, shovels, acetone, alcohol and chloroform. Traces of chloroform, which is used to induce unconsciousness and also a component of human decomposition, were found in the trunk of Casey Anthony's car during forensic testing, the documents said.

Orange County jail officials also released several hours of videotapes of visits between Casey Anthony and her family from July and August, when she was arrested on neglect and other counts but before she was charged with first-degree murder.

During the taped visits, Anthony's parents tell her they're trying hard to find the little girl. Anthony does not appear to add information to aid that search beyond her account that a baby sitter took the girl.

Last week, prosecutors announced they would not pursue the death penalty for Anthony, although that move could be reversed.

The Orange County State Attorney's Office said in a news release last week that "it is not in the best interest of the people of the state of Florida" to pursue the death penalty against Anthony.

Timeline Revisited

After the discovery of the remains, Local 6 News investigative reporter Tony Pipitone revisted cell phone records released in the Casey Anthony case to track her whereabouts.

Caylee was last seen June 16, the day George Anthony said he last saw his daughter and granddaughter together.

"Ten minutes to 1 (o'clock) that afternoon on the 16th is when I actually saw Casey and Caylee together -- both leaving with backpacks. My daughter said she was going to work, and she was taking Caylee to the nanny, to the babysitter," George Anthony said in a released police interview.

Investigators said they do not believe the baby sitter existed.

Seven hours later, Casey Anthony was seen on surveillance video renting a movie at a Blockbuster with her boyfriend, Tony Lazzaro, and Caylee was not with them.

Casey Anthony returned home on Tuesday, June 17 around 2:30 p.m. but went back toward Lazzaro's home less than three hours later, phone records show.

But June 17 was just one day after Caylee was last seen alive, and investigators believe that's when Caylee likely died, Pipitone reported.

Scientific evidence suggests that human remains that decomposed in the trunk of Casey Anthony's car were there for up to two-and-a-half days after death.

Pipitone said that fact may lead investigators to focus on Wednesday, June 18 to June 19.

A neighbor told investigators that Casey Anthony borrowed a shovel on June 18 and also backed her car into her grandparents' garage, which was unusual, the neighbor said.

Cell phone records show that Casey Anthony pinged a tower near her parents' home from around 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on June 18, then her phone pinged along the Econ Trail, south of Lake Underhill.

The area between those two locations is the wooded area where the remains and skull of a child were located on Thursday, Pipitone reported.

Casey Anthony's phone pinged near her boyfriend's apartment before going silent at 6:57 p.m., records show, and did not ping another tower until 8:32 a.m. Thursday, June 19, also near his apartment.

It is not known where Casey Anthony was during that 13-hour span.

I really do believe God intervened, too. I believe that it was all of the collective love, hope, prayers, and concern that everyone had for darling Caylee that finally broke through. Ironically, I prayed so hard to St. Jude (the Saint of the Impossible) the night before this finding happened -- just prayed that the truth would come out and Caylee would finally receive the dignity of a proper burial and justice for what happened to her. I still cry every time I see her sing "You Are My Sunshine." She is an angel.

It had crossed my mind that after leaving the tow yard, George found Caylee's body in the trunk where the tire goes and disposed of her.  I thought this b/c of Casey's insistence that she didn't know where she was.  I always believed that.  Then w/ her wanting to speak w/ George from the jail. I thought maybe George didn't want to tell b/c it would be damning to Casey and Casey couldn't tell b/c it would be damning for George.  That in a sense, they were protecting each other.

I don't really think that happened b/c I do believe George has been beside himself in this and don't think he could go to work after that.  I really think that George and Cindy are victims in this also.

Good Morning Monkeys!  Geeze, what a sad night.  I am glad that it appears little Caylee has been found, I hung on to a wee bit of hope that maybe (against all odds) she might one day come home alive.  Poor baby!

I do not usually get into theories, but there are a few oddities that make me want to speculate.

1.  Remember the find in that same area where there was a rope sticking out of the ground where something was buried?  I believe LE officially said someone had buried a dog there.  The interview released of the 2 people who had discovered it said, at the end, "...and you did not speak to the media about this, right?".  No one ever came forward and stated "OH, that was my dog I buried".

2.  Tim Miller had started searching that area and stopped because much of it was under water and he was afraid if something was there, driving 4wheelers and people walking over it might disturb the body and evidence so the search was stopped until it dried out.  It just dried out enough this week to where they thought they might be able to search it again.  Tim said that a chain link fence was erected around that area shortly after that.

3.  It was reported that there were utility people in there trying to unstop a drainage pipe to further drain the area.  It was one of those utility people who discovered the body  Rains were expected to move in again yesterday (and indeed it did rain).

Here is my theory.  I wonder if LE did in fact discover something buried - related to Caylee - in that hole with the rope sticking out of it?  LE told the people who discovered the hole/rope not to speak to the media and made sure they had not spoken to the media.  Since they could not recover a body at that time without compromising the scene, they ordered a chain link fence to be erected around the area.

Tim stated that just this week it had dried up enough to go in there and search the area again.  Hard rains were expected to come in again to that area yesterday.

I think those "utility workers" might have been in there at the direction of LE (or actually were LE) to search the area for the body.

I believe LE was almost certain that the body was in there and that is one reason that Tim suddenly called of the search the last time he was here.

Anyway, this is just my look at what might turn out to be the reality of this find.

One other thing, that guy yesterday who was wearing those white sun glasses and always supported KC?  Besides being a "drama queen", I really wonder about his involvement in this case.  He just makes my HINKEY meter go off the charts!

Search Of Anthony House Ends, Evidence Removed
Friday, December 12, 2008 – updated: 10:20 am EST December 12, 2008

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Investigators said they concluded their search of the Anthony home Friday morning after serving a search warrant Thursday night and removing several items. The search came after a child's remains were found near their house Thursday morning.

Investigators overnight pulled several boxes and bags of evidence from the Anthony family home (watch raw video). The conclusion of the search means the Anthonys could now return home, but it was unclear if or when that would happen.

Friday morning, Sheriff Kevin Beary appeared on Good Morning America to discuss Thursday's findings (watch Beary on GMA).

"I know you can't go into detail, but there was something that was found that made you want to search the grandparents' home?" GMA's Robin Roberts asked Beary.

"Oh, absolutely," Beary said.

Friday morning, deputies, the medical examiner, crime scene investigators and Tim Miller of EquuSearch, who had looked for Caylee Anthony previously, began combing through the wooded area where the remains were discovered, in search of more evidence.

Investigators, Friday morning, were cutting through brush and tree limbs near the scene of the remains discovery looking for fibers and hair. Blue tents were erected and a white sheet was laid out near the search area, likely for investigators to place potential evidence once discovered.

On Thursday night, Eyewitness News was at the Anthonys' home in Orange County as deputies spent hours inside processing the scene. Investigators removed three vacuum cleaners, notebooks and papers from the house on Hopespring Drive.

Neighbors said that, after Thursday's gruesome discovery of a child's remains nearby, they expected the crowds, but they don't believe there will be any protesting.

"I think it's going to be different, like showing their support for the family and everything," said neighbor Joyce Dickens.

Meanwhile, Casey's attorney, Jose Baez, filed an emergency motion (read motion) Thursday, because he wants to be present for any forensic testing on the remains. The court hearing to discuss the motion will be held at 11:30am Friday (Hearing will be shown live on WFTV.com).

Another Casey Anthony dream juror:

Quote
Linda Gossar   December 11th, 2008 11:10 pm ET

please tell all to remain strong…it still has to be proven she is caylee, and it still is open as to how she died, and who killed her…
nancy grace has obscured justice from the start…
i also think the meter guy should be checked out…seems strange if it was in water, that it was not seen sooner, and it would have floated,
also, i cannot see that there would be any reason for caycee to undress her,
it shows the markings of gang activity…caycee was going to tell in court, and this could be the retaliation which was promised her…they could have killed her from the start, someone who wanted to hurt her, for whatever reason…
as far as the duct tape on her, there is meaning in that, you didnt shut your mouth…
i still say innocent until proven guilty…and nancy grace should be taken off television, for she uses her twins as bait, and too many people are of lower intellegence, and those who do not believe in the rights which are given us to protect us from being persecuted…
innocent till proven guilty, falls on dead ears.
look at the people who are gathering at the parents house, people seem to get off on such horrid and shocking situations…
it may be caylee, and i am sorry if it is, but i will continue to believe that caycee is innocent until proven, only it sure seems like she wont get the chance…
we do have, throughout the states, many police and justice who are criminals, and who frame others with their misuse of power, on the other hand, the gang signs the nanny’s family were doing, proves to me, they are involved in illegal activities…
i would like to see this video again…i shouldnt have wrote nancy grace about it, for she is miss repeat, yet she has not since repeated this video.
please know my prayers are with all of you….no matter what…but the way this has unfolded fits more with the gang styles than of a deranged mother, which i did not see, i saw how much caycee loved caylee.
and they can shove something in that cowboy turn coat for a peice of fame, and nancy grace treats him decent since he turned her way…
it was also said this area was checked in the past…a plastic bag, some of it would have shown…
family cannot even have any privacy, even in their visits…
all of you who are enjoying this, you know, who says oh thank you so much nancy for what you do, she has not done anything other than add to the confusion.
oh and i love your children, now they can all pretend at grieving, how can they grieve when they did not even know her…?
look at the percentage who voted republican, they knew it meant this illegal invasion of iraq would continue, and they care not for all the lives which have been lost…
bush, as the representative of this party, did not go after bin laden, who claimed he was responsible, and there are still ppl who think suddam (sorry mispelled) is responsible for 9/11…
i think nancy grace would do better defending him, though he needs to be impeached….
anyway, i do not use caffiene, or any drugs, excuse me for this long comment…
i am upset, feeling for the family, feeling still, this is not right…in these times,
i know you all are crying, and hearts heavy, i wish you could know, but seems the body was placed there, and i believe your daughter is innocent…
i have one last comment, all of you who are not looking at what could be truth, leave the family alone…can’t you find something better to do? go down to one of the charities and give your help, and maybe the fat wont gather in your brain cells…

I have a hard time believing GA would have knowingly disposed of his granddaughter in that way. For some reason I don't think he could have done that, but I don't really know. Unless she did not tell him what or who was in the bag, but if he knew it was a person it would have obviously been a small person. If it was him who placed her in the woods, I think he could not have done it thinking or knowing it was Caylee. That's jmo though.

Where are the A's?  If this were my grandchild, you would have to physically remove me from the scene... I would want to be close to the spot where she was found.

Getting ready for their Larry King interview tonight.  I know when most people lose a loved one, their first thought is to go on a cable talk show. (Sarcasm)

Klaas thanks for posting all the updates!

Was Tim released from the hospital or did he leave on his own? He didn't look too good on TV last night and now he is at the scene searching. God Please Take Care of Tim Miller

LOL

I was just trying to post that (and kept losing the link)!

I just watched the NBC videos and heard that! It was not mentioned on any news that I watched last night.

Thanks!
