ARUBA: It's all about Natalee...we won't give up!

« Reply #760 on: December 20, 2008, 09:56:22 PM »

Am I the only one getting booted off SM Forum tonight? Has happened at least 4 times. And we are not that busy!

I haven't been booted yet, but I've had some problems changing pages, etc.  When the problems started I came over here thinking there would be a huge crowd; and that would be the reason for the issues.  But something else must be going on.  Maybe Dugga's doing some work on things?

I stand with the girl, Natalee Holloway.

"I can look back over the past 10 years and there were no steps wasted, and there are no regrets,'' she said. "I did all I knew to do and I think that gives me greater peace now." "I've lived every parent's worst nightmare and I'm the parent that nobody wants to be," she said.

http://www.lodinews.com/articles/2006/04/18/update/0_false.txt

It's not a crime to lie to state and local police — though it is a misdemeanor to provide a false name — but any lie told to federal investigators can turn into a criminal charge. And it may be becoming a more common accusation, though some say it could lead to people clamming up altogether instead of speaking to federal agents.

*snipped*

If you lie in court while under oath that is perjury, it doesn't matter whether it's local or federal. I am sure that CA lied in her appearance. That is how she is..

ONLY if the false statement (lie) is material to the case at hand—that it could affect the outcome of the case. It is not considered perjury, for example, to lie about one's age, unless that person's age is a key factor in proving the case.

Well we're hardly talking about someone lying about their age, are we?
Everything she has lied about has been material to the case- if it weren't there would be no need to lie...

You don't have to be snippy.  I was just posting the info that I found since some were wondering if it was a crime to lie to the police.

Western *******, I apologize.  I read your post wrong.

Thank you for stating that. I was just thinking... in those signed statements of interviews with the FBI, for instance... if they were deliberately misleading, lying, can they be brought up on charges? Or do they have to be proven? If Cindy was making statements regarding what Casey told her, or stated to the best of her memory... that is not exactly lying, is it?
I know a lot of people want to see them in handcuffs, hauled off to jail... but I would really hate to see that happen, unless they were actually involved in Caylee's death or helped dispose of the body. These people are devastated... I think arresting them for lying or being misleading is a little cruel right now. That's just me and my old, kind heart.

In other words ... you believe that the immediate family of a suspect should be given a free pass to obstruct justice?

In the Natalee Holloway case ... I know Paulus van der Sloot was given that free pass which is afforded him under Dutch law.

However ... I believe in a criminal investigation ... logic dictates that justice for the victim is the objective and ... therefore ANYBODY who attempts to obstruct the process should be held accountable.

ARLENE ELLIS-SCHIPPER, ARUBAN ATTORNEY: Well basically obstruction of justice is a criminal offense in our criminal code. However, there is an exoneration for family members in the first degree. So in the case of Mr. Van der Sloot it would not apply.

Who Geraldo?  What you hear from him is precisely what Baez wants you to hear imo.

The great thing about the laws in Florida, if you are a defense attorney, is the discovery and sunshine laws.  Baez can kick back, spew nonsense, wreak havoc on common sense, spout mythical defensive postures, submit motion upon motion and none of it will come back to bite him.

He is doing his best, (with friends like Foxnews, Geraldo, Larry King, and the rest of the cockroaches making a buck on Caylee's demise), to create a bit of doubt within the short attention span folks in Florida.  He doesn't need to worry about tact, direction, or truth.

His defense will be based on what discovery he is entitled to.  He will continue to motion and motion and motion, and the prosecution has no choice but to submit all evidence it intends to use at trial minus a few legal exceptions.  He can then derive his defense based on that.

Now, I don't think he has a Mack Truck small enough to penetrate the swiss cheese holes he will be given, so I feel he is garnering publicity and taking his time until he attempts to plea out.  If not, I can guarantee that the defense will have nothing to do with what we have been told up to today.  It will have nothing to do with fantastical mythical nannys and seedy hypothetical individuals with acquaintances of those monitoring the meters or Larry Padilla for that matter.

I agree also Casey killed and dumped Caylee all on her own. I am beyond curious what Dr G all saw at the scene, and in the bag, to say this was a homicide by means unknown.
This is exactly what I want to know too.

Well we know it was not a suicide, so that is ruled out (Orlando is not Aruba). The presence of duct tape would not play into a manslaughter or negligent situation. Wonder if any other the things present in the plastic bag like clothes, sheets, pillow case, towels may have had some blood on it possibly??? Or maybe their was an exact match to hairs or fibers found in the trunk to the bag.

Anyone in their right might that is not hired by Casey Anthony or affiliated with the Anthony "Adams" family knows it was a homicide.
There are rumors the cops took drywall, carpet samples!!
