The only way if possible to not have media presence is...don't announce it.

casey is messed up for sure.  If I try and get inside her mind set, I end up just shaking my head, as I can not fathom all the happenings with the anthony family.  mio

Knowing what we know now and hearing her words in jail are just mind boggling. She would definitely make a good "study" for some professionals. Casey is an adult and I still can't understand "loving" grandparents not protecting their grandchild yet covering for their daughter who's actions took her life away. Caylee just can't be swept under the rug for Casey to get away with this especially by the misleading of the grandparents statements and actions. I find their quest for immunity even more disgusting and I hope they do not get it. I think LE can put this puzzle together without their "truthfulness" interviews they will give now.

There is a science to body language agreed? So when i watch Casey i apply what i know. And i swear almost everything she says is incriminating..."you dont know my involvement in this?"...."they arrested me off a effin whim"...." i dont know where she is are you effing kidding me" and the clencher is when shes talking with lee and shes saying," i just want to see her again" "hear her laugh, see her smile"....ok first of all i said these exact same things when my bf passed..hmmm. her daughter was only supposed to be kidnapped....So when she says..."i just want to see her again" SHE CLOSES HER EYES AND SHAKES HER HEAD SIDE TO SIDE AS IF SHE IS SAYING NO WHILE SHES MAKING A "positive" statement.....Wow...i have a feeling she closed her eyes and shook her head because she remembers the last time she saw Caylee..in a bag..I bet she even was grossed out by the caylees dead body *well of course* but i think this is what gave her such a tough skin about it.. ... jmho

I agree with body language revealing many things. I too have been studying caseys voice. There is a definite pattern that shows when she is lying.. When she says she wishes none of this ever happened, well, I imagine THAT is the truth.  There is a sort of back of her throat closing, and her voice changes a bit.  Then, I noticed the same thing going on with cindy after watching her a while. 
And poor george, every time he begins to speak, cindy ends his thought, or adds something to it. She surely controlled this family to the point they all lied to each other, then cover up all the lies...

Oh yeah i see the same traits in cindy that i used to see in my mom when she was still married to my dad. The hand immediately gets him to stop talking, or she buts in. but she gets extremely nervous when george is on the verge of revealing ANYTHING. But back to Casey...how about when Lee asks her what she wants to tell the public..and she says something to the effect of, "yeah but they are hearing it from her uncle, her grandma, not from her mother (she whispers "her mother" and lets her head fall and shakes it) again shes saying no to something positive...she obviously didnt read up enough on the internet. she should have googled, "how to learn to lie to investigators"

Well honestly, because of the magnitude of this case, there is no way this is going to be kept secret, no matter what they decide.  I'm sure the funeral is already underway of being planned, they just are not going to announce any details.

I believe what they should do is have a memorial for Caylee for the public at the body location site or Blanchard Park. Rev. Grund could do a service and it would help everyone who wants to mourn.

Even though I am not an Ant fan in any way shape or form, I do believe on the day of the funeral they should be left alone. There are some people who have no problem over stepping the decency bounds and would start yelling at the family. Give them this day to grieve in private. LE is more than competent to sure everyone involved in this will pay the price.

I don't think they will give a dime to TES.  Do you remember what Mr. Conway said in his presser yesterday?  The Anthony family may go after those who may have profited off of the search for Caylee.  This comes after the Friday press conference where Sheriff Beary says the amount of money they gave to TES.

They were showing some pics that people had sent in and one of them was of 4 or 5 kids dressed for Christmas with red duct tape over there mouths, re:a way to assure a " Silent Night" That came out of Regis' mouth. Just about made me throw up.

Actually that was the KidFinders donation jar that was put out at the TES command center.  Kidfinders I guess put the donation jar there and TES assumed since it was at the TES command center the donations in the jar (mostly from searchers) was for TES.

Even though you knew Caylee was dead, didn't you feel like you were sucker punched when it was announced?

Yes, Bearly, absolutely.   And for me it was particularly unreal.  I had taken the day off from work and was on dial up at my boyfriend's house.  I was trying to catch up on the boards and was making my usual flippant remarks on the previous thread.  Two hours later I found out and skipped ahead on the boards.

I never doubted for a minute that Caylee was no longer with us, but the news came so quietly (reading it on the web)  that it seems unreal.  It's not like in the movies when things follow according to script and there is appropriate clues and music, you know what I mean?

I feel sort of a depression like women might feel after having a baby or when you have been totally involved in a project and it's over.  (Although I realize this investigation and the trial that will follow is far from over.)

As to the speculation that Casey might have gotten Caylee involved in child pornography, I have a hard time accepting that.  I think though that maybe Casey was running in crowds where it could have eventually happened and therefore maybe someone suggested to her to use drugs to subdue her when she/Casey was trying to party.  I don't think it quite got to the point where Caylee was sexually abused.

I do think it is much more likely that Casey was involved in some kind of sex parties or amateur porno.  I don't think she was a call girl, she didn't have enough money and didn't have enough opportunity.  (She was always on the phone and how can you be a call girl when your child is often with you?)

I do want to ask something of you and other monkeys, however.  Did you notice how fresh and beautiful Caylee was early on and later she did not look so well?  To me, she didn't look her beautiful self when she was in the car seat holding her dollie.  Instead of thriving as she got older, the opposite seemed to be true.


The hardest thing to accept is that we will probably never know what really happened.

I was also on a roller coaster about the meter reader and all that speculation but I have come to one conclusion and that is he saw a bag that wasn't related and his interest came from the foul smell in the woods.  I'm quessing he kept calling cause there was no indication that his lead was being followed up on or he got an attitude from the people he reported his concerns to.

Because of my faith in God and my understanding of God's timing, I see the discovery of the body as a miracle and a blessing.  Just a couple of weeks ago I though we would never find her body at all.

I am praying for the sick dysfunctional people that didn't give Caylee the life she deserved.  The alternative would be to be consumed by hate.

Thanks, Karen.  There was a lot of good thoughts in your post.

I did notice how Caylee looked confused and scared toward the end.  It did not escape me that it appeared Lee enjoyed torturing her also.  Wonder what that was about.  Was he jealous?  We have gone over the 'maybe Lee is the father' thing many times.  Can we think of another reason?

There was that talk about Lee being cold toward his sister when he found out she was pregnant.  Maybe he is protective of Casey and expected better for her (than to have a child and not be married) and he never got over that.  It seems like the people in that family have poor coping skills, perhaps Lee just doesn't know how to relate to children.

I think the thought that a child is a blessing, regardless of circumstances, might be a foreign concept to Lee.

Perhaps we are making too much of Lee taunting Caylee . . . in my family the men liked to tease girls mercilessly.  I chalk it up to the men not knowing how to show affection appropriately.  I was pinned on the floor and tickled, stuff like that.  There are even pictures taken of me when I was growing up that would give an impression that I was being psychologically abused.

I grew up to be OK with all of it and to understand that the men in my family don't know how to appropriately show love.  Too bad Caylee didn't have the same chance to grow up to be a woman.

ITA about Lee's resentment of Casey's pregnancy.

I must have missed the pictures or tapes where Lee taunts Caylee. In all the pictures I've seen, he looks scared of her. And she looks serious and scared of him. I haven't seen any where they're roughhousing, or where he's teasing her.

The idea of a child being a blessing, regardless of the circumstances, is a foreign concept to me, so I can well understand how it might also be foreign to Lee. It's very hard, if you yourself were unwanted, to fathom anybody wanting a child. If you were resented and brought up grudgingly, and always felt guilty and in debt for existing at all, then you might have a very tough time believing it's possible for anyone to love a child unconditionally. And if you finally do realize that in fact people are supposed to do just that, it can send you into a tailspin, make you insane, to finally understand that children are suposed to be loved and cherished, not resented and used.

Because how do you make sense of the idea that other kids were wanted and loved, and you weren't? Tough to do, without losing your mind.

And even supposing you've made peace with all that, if your sister's anything like Casey you might still find the idea of her becoming a mother very upsetting. Lee might actually be thinking, "I told you so," even though he's not saying it. There's something in his tone talking to the police that says he never expected anything else of Casey. JMO.
