Greetings my monkey friends!


I haven't been a member of this board very long, but I sure am glad I found this board and all the monkey friends on it!

I would like to speak to any of the monkeys that might feel a little lost or broken during the holidays.
 
I struggle during the holidays because of holidays past, both good and bad.  I finally realized, after being sober and cleaning up my life over the last couple of years, that I needed to recreate what the holidays mean to me.  It's a work in progress but for me I needed to stay away from all the commercialism and keep things simple.

And as a recovering alcoholic, I am very careful to limit the situations that I am in during the holidays.  (After all, I think there is dysfunction in most of our families.)  I always need to feel that it is ok to say "that's enough" and go spend some time alone or go to my meetings.

If you are a monkey or guest monkey struggling with this time of the year, I understand.  Please take care of yourself, especially if you are struggling with depression and or addiction.

If for any reason, the season turns you off because you don't believe in a higher power, ask yourself who made the glorious sky, the gentle rains, or the sun above.  Don't put a name on it, but whatever it is, find comfort in it through nature.

During this holiday season you are not alone.

To lighten this all up my friends, I have one more thing . .. something that has been mentioned here and there for the last few pages and always makes me smile . . .

As far as KC goes, we can all hope she's ballooned a bit, has greasy hair from the non-salon brand shampoo and cheap lotion as well as a face full of blemishes courtesy of the Reese's PB cups.  Oh, and the unibrow, can't forget that!

Okay Monkeys confession time. I go read odd ball blogs and I was looking at one that had a story about how DNA from a mosquito caught a car thief. Casey in the woods=mosquitos? Pesticide? Deep Woods Off?

I don't know it made me perk up, so you never know what those clever guys with the sheriff's department may have found.

How neat!  My av is my son, who I've heard is having a fabulous time at my in-laws.  His uncle brought in a toy that was unwrapped and so he got one early.  Now he is tormenting the family with the loud LeapFrog Alphabet Caterpillar.  I can hear him squealing in the background, it's so cool.

We all have our challenges but we work through them right?  It's a temporary thing and I tell myself, this too shall pass.  A wise friend once told me - Everything is ok in the end, and if it's not ok, it's not the end.

Here for you if you need a cyber hug!  I have tons!!!!

This Cristmas....I wish I could help this dear Friend of mine, find out if his sone is still alive..........or if he is dead, where did they bury him, so that he can know for certain and stop wondering....Thats what I wish I could do......

Thank You................The Mother took the boy and left and then about a year ago, someone called him and told him the boy had drowned during a trip at summer camp and hung up........The boy would be seventeen now and all he wants to know is if its true or not.................but I dont know how to find this info out.....................but I wish I could help!!!!!!!!!!

did they keep the same name or change it? Also if you have an idea of where they were supposedly at when he drowned (allegedly) I will use my super snoop nose and see what I can find. I have a strange knack for finding thing - my DH says it is that I am like a dog with a bone but I think I am just lucky.

I dont know if they kept his same name or not.....I do have his ss number....He doesnt know where they were at when he was suppose to drown......I know his mothers first name.........his birthdate and where he was born.....would that be enough?

That is such a sad story of the 3yr. old, I do hope he is found alive.  Reminds me of a lady in Alta. that took her 3 yr old son and moved to the states.  The father was never able to locate him.

The boy was a bit older than 15, and during his high school they were discussing missing kids.  So, he typed his name in on a missing site, and BINGO up he came.  Make a long story short, he went to his teacher, and she helped him locate his dad in Alberta.  Althought they were reunited after 12.5 yrs.  He had decided to remain in the states as now he was 16. 

Amazing how a mother can take a child across the US/Canada border and have him registered in school, and yet Immigration never caught up with her.

He has maintained a very good relationship with his father since that day.

Thank you for the sentiment but this is it!  I've had HG during all my pregnancies (four with this one) - this is all I can handle!!!  I have one beautiful child and one on the way, I'm not pushing my luck. 

But thank you again.  Enjoy the holiday for me and tell me all about the fabulous time you had omorrow...
