I would not like to be at those meetings today.  Things will leak and we'll learn a bit more I'd think over the weekend.  Hard to know what is true and what is just positioning.  Here is Frank the Tank's take.

I hope the mega conferences don't ruin college football.

Everyone down here thinks it's gonna happen. The Big XII meetings were a disaster. It's coming -- 4 "Super Conferences" (essentially will be the new "Division 1"). The top 2 from each conference will have a playoff for the National Championship.

Wreck, I'm starting to believe it too.  Don't quite understand Colorado's invite but guess every league needs a "weak sister". lol.  Guarantee you NU to the Big 10.  Unsure about MU.

If we can kill the BCS which stands for Bull Crap Shi_ and replace it with a better playoff type situation that would be great.  I just hope all this big money stuff doesn't take away the best part of college ball.

I'm getting excited...........Pac-16..........

"I've talked to the Pac-10," said the Big 12 school administrator, according to the Austin newspaper. "There is an invitation. When it comes, it'll come fast."

Another political figure connected to Texas told The American-Statesman: "I know the war drums are beating. This is way beyond gossip."

Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott, speaking at meetings in San Francisco, laid out several scenarios Friday to its schools' athletic directors, one of which would include adding six Big 12 schools, with Texas among them.
Scott was to brief school presidents and chancellors Sunday morning.

Report: Legislators want Baylor in mixEmail Print Comments90 ESPNDallas.com

Political forces in the state of Texas are preparing to demand that Baylor -- not Colorado -- should be one of the schools in the mix should the Pac-10 extend an invitation to six Big 12 schools to join its ranks, according to Orangebloods.com.

This will happen quickly I would guess.  FWIW ND's AD sat in on the Big 10 meetings this afternoon.  Thats all I know.

And Osborne won't meet any deadlines given by Beebe because he is a POS with no power. His ultimatum is as effective as when I try to get my nephew to listen. LOL  I would love for the dominos to start falling so this is over quicker but there is so much at stake for so many school... it might not work that way.

It's a done deal! Nebraska to Big 10. Texas, OU,OSU, Tech, A&M and most likely  Colorado to Pac-16. Missouri started this ball rolling by "begging" the Big 10 for admittance. (I hope they get left behind!!!!)

Frijole will be excited. This is what she wanted. Word is that Tom Osborne got really cold feet and wanted the Big XII to stay in tact. The Nebraska Board of regents over-ruled him.

I originally thought this would never come to fruition -- now the onslaught will begin. Look for the Big 10 and SEC to now go to 16 teams each. Next in line will be lawsuits and Congress raising hell. Buckle up!!!!

Thank you Bean for the email. I was seriously just kidding, months ago with that rumor of Nebraska moving to the Big Ten.  I'll look forward to the Nebraska- Michigan games now. You better buy the Big 10 network to watch games.
On a personal note my mom passed away last week after Memorial Day, she will be missed.

What I heard was the last straw was Beebee's ultimatum.  This came after no one in the room would make a commitment longer than 4 yrs to the Big 12 and no one would commit if more than 2 teams left.  Since MO and CO obviously wanted out - and NE being geographically too far for Pac 10 or SEC consideration... it was a no brainer.  In the end I think TO did want out for the sake of the school but it hurt him to leave teams that we have played for over 100 yrs and he said that.

Re my opinion - this isn't what I wanted but the Big 12 sticking together under Beebee wasn't going to happen.  He is a worthless POS.  What is he even doing to save the conference?  He must be getting paid by the other conferences to sit and do nothing.

Regardless - being the diehard that I am, I will cheer on the Big TEN now and some of the Big 12 teams.  So now I can relax and watch everyone else's teams go thru this mess. ha.
