Thank you Bean for the email. I was seriously just kidding, months ago with that rumor of Nebraska moving to the Big Ten.  I'll look forward to the Nebraska- Michigan games now. You better buy the Big 10 network to watch games.
On a personal note my mom passed away last week after Memorial Day, she will be missed.

Kiwi - can you believe we don't get the network yet here?  People were calling the cable company within minutes of the announcement to find out when they could get it though. ha ha ha

I am really sorry to hear of your mom's passing.  It is a huge loss and only time can heal the void.  I will be thinking of you, your dad and the rest of your family and sending warm thoughts.

I wasn't abandoning you guys over the last few weeks...I too have been dealing with loss.  I am a single mother of two schnauzers.  One Haley was 16 1/2 and the other Annie will turn 14 this month.  I lost Haley to a stroke on 5/22.  Annie was diagnosed a few weeks before that with cushings disease.  (Haley had it and so I know how to treat it)  But Annie quit eating and the chemo drug is not working.  I had to take her to Omaha on Monday for testing and they cannot figure out what is going on.  So my focus is on saving my little girl.

Its weird because we have all known each other for 5 yrs thanks to Natalee - RIP angel - and so much has happened to all of us during those years.  While this thread is about football... it is also about friends... and I guess I'd just like to say thanks for all the fun times over these past seasons.  So regardless of conference changes - I'll be rooting everyone's teams on... cept when you play my team. lol.  Hugs... beans

I was wondering where you were with all the big commotion going on! Gosh, I know losing a dear pet cannot compare with Kiwi's loss -- but, it is not any easier, they are "family" too. I have been there before and my own Lab is 10 now and starting to really age as a big dog.

I'm not as upset about the Big XII breaking up so much as I hate the old Big 8 teams totally ripped apart. Latest hunches are that TEX A&M goes to the SEC (BIG MISTAKE - IMO). Hopefully the PAC-16 then takes Kansas instead.
Missouri started this whole mess with their Governor , AD, and school President BEGGING the Big 10 for admittance -- I so hope they get burned!

Thank you Cuz and Pdh3, unfortunately it was unexpected and she was the caregiver for my dad that has Alzheimer's.

I am so sorry for your loss Kiwi. With my mother's alzheimer's advancing I can understand your concern for his care as well.

I'm so sorry about Haley and we'll be praying for Annie's situation to turn around soon.

Thank you wreck, bean and none. I consider you all my on-line friends. We all started here for Natalee, and 5 years have passed. A lot has happened to us all during that time. Thankfully Jorans time is about up! I imagine we will have many more football seasons together even without Joran.

I feel for you both on that issue. My grandmother had Alzheimer's, and it is a difficult time for family members. Prayers to you both.

beans - so sorry to hear about your baby Haley, and hoping you can get Annie on the road to recovery.

2010 will be a fun season. I am already excited, and it's still early summer! AU has gotten some stellar recruits for 2011 already, so the future is looking good for us!

Glad to see that USC FINALLY got hammered by the NCAA. I think Reggie Bush should be stripped of his Heisman as well. I guess we'll see if that happens.....

I'm crushed about the Big XII staying together ---- we came up on the short end. Congrats to Frijole, NU came out smelling like a rose!

They are still in the conference - pledging to stay (not that have any choice). Mizzou started this whole mess and their Governor really insulted OSU and Texas Tech. They can go to hell for all I care!!!

Wreck - what a mess the last week huh?  Just shows how dysfunctional the conference is.  I place a ton of blame on leadership of Beebe (or lack thereof).  It remains to be seen if those numbers that were thrown together so quickly are attainable.  I would bet there are alot of unhappy campers about this.  I am just relieved that we had Perlman and Osborne (both bright and media savy) to lead us thru this.  I truly believe that had TX not thrown out the ultimatum AND the threat to leave that we wouldn't have jumped.  It was too great a risk and given our geography - Its going to be ugly for us this season and we know it.  Glad Bo is there to keep them focused.

This is our last season in the Big 12 - we elected to only stay one vs two years.  One will be tough enough.  Talk about a target on your back.  Whew

OK....now that the pos sporter is locked up and the judge has ruled his confession stands.....i am ready to talk football...lol!!!
was looking at one of those pre-season magazines and it got me all excited again. ryan mallet, our qb, is going into the season with a lot of expectations nationally....hope he can live up to them. plus, our receiving corps is rated #1 in the nation!!! now, if our defense can step up, we are looking at a good season!!!
we are picked #17 in 1 poll and 2nd in the sec west behind #1 alabama!!!
cannot help to have high hopes!!!!

Heh cuz!  Yep great news from out of Peru - keep the POS locked up.

Phil Steele was talking about your team saying they are the darkhorse in the SEC, also Auburn.  He said what you did...time for the D to step up.

We have the opposite problem - unknown offense.  We will find out real fast (playing Washington 3rd game) whether our QB issues were related to a hidden injury or not.  LOL  Some polls have us at #5 which is too high.  We should be 10-15 range until the O issues are proven one way or the other.

68 days til first game in case you wanted to know.

Well we had the worst winter in close to 100 yrs so I am going to keep my mouth shut at the 98 weather here.  I will remember driving on ice daily and promise myself I will not complain. lol

Hang in there cuz!  Stay inside! ha

OK so when its 70 here and your at zero no wants to here it. Now that its 110-115 here, 98 sounds like I would need a jacket! Its a good thing we all have air conditioning. Falls just around the corner.

But Kiwi... it is a DRY heat.  I get that from my sis who is here visiting.  You are right - extremes at either end are NOT good.  67 days til kick off.

Sorry haven't read or posted in here in a long time but I just read this and I'm so upset by the implications I had to share it.
