I'm very sorry to hear about Speedy! He's young and should heal rapidly. On a lighter side it would have been better to have been injured playing for the Wolverines since Kiwi doesn't throw the ball at all. He could have been healthy with zero receptions if Kiwi was the QB. Hopefully Ill be proved wrong and Michigan will actually complete passes for positive yards this season, with or without Kiwi playing QB. Get well soon Speedy, we all here pray for a fine recovery!!!!! Sorry for the Michigan stuff.

Kiwi, don't apologize to us... we are all rooting for you and your team... I heard on Rivals Radio a local sportsguy talking about the hatred towards RRodriguez by the fans.  He has some heat.  It is time for him to put up.  He owes it to all of you.  I have sooo been there and it isn't fun not knowing what kind of product is going to be put on the field by someone being paid big bucks.  I hope to see a big jump in talent/development.  If they just run, so be it so long as they get a first down!!!!  Run Kiwi Run!!

I am reading about injuries all over the place... no team is unscathed but in the BIZARRE category... Texas just lost their FOURTH tight end for the season.  WTH?  Lord knows they have tons of talent.. guess we'll see how deep they are at that position.  WOW.

TX lost 4 TE's?
They'd have to be incredibly deep to have someone ready to replace the starters. They will probably have to reroute a kid from another position, or pull up some freshmen and lesser talents.

I'm with you guys....a shredded ACL does sound really awful. I hope Speedy has wonderful DRs who can make him better than new. I know he'll do all he can to get back to 100% as soon as he can. God Bless him for handling his disappointment like the champ he is.

My goodness nonesy!  I know Nascar wanted playing time.....I guess he's gonna get it!
God Bless him too!

I heard on the news today that an Alabama player was arrested after some kind of fight with his girlfriend, or something like that. I didn't get to hear the whole story. Little Nicky will probably let him play anyway, or give him a token punishment.

Kiwi - We're pulling for MI to straighten out the QB1 situation. RR surely has a plan. He's too good a coach not to have something going on this late in the day. I'm hoping he can pull it off! GO BLUE!

Cuz, thanks for letting us know about the local press, he certainly deserves it and more.

Kiwi - keep the faith, if nothing else in college football today the super boosters at MI will put enough pressure on Rodriguez to pull this off. Hopefully you'll see a resolution and it will be a good surprise when the season starts.

Wow I'm working too hard, 16 days? I hope the teams are ready !!!

Thank You All for your support. Looking back, I'm not sure that the Wolverine fans should blame RR. The change to the spread offense seems to have caught them in recruiting limbo. Wanted- QB's out there. If you are going to be a freshman and have the mobility for the spread offense you could be a walk-on for the Wolverines. Note to RR advertise to all high schools in America!

Forgive my bad manners Keep! I also meant to add....It's great to see our PAC 10 fan checking in! I hope you stick with us all season.
I'm not too sure those Bayou Bengals will do much bowing down.....but you never know, and that's what makes college ball so much fun! Good Luck to your Huskies! I'm gonna stick with my SEC team for that game, but I do hope the Huskies do well.

Geaux LSU Tigers!

I admire anyone who roots for their team.  And even more when the team is down... cuz that shows they are true fans.  I wish Washington a return to glory... but it won't be easy and I fear that LSU will beat the crap out of them.  However, I have been to the stadium in Washington and it is a site to behold.  Beautiful.  The endzone backdrop with the water is spectacular and I decided my next visit I will watch from a rented boat.  That would be the best!!

So enjoy the game!   And do continue to visit here... we like Pac 10 brethren that can help us cheer against USC.

Well...Bo kicked one of our starting running backs off the team this a.m.  He just said he consistently broke team rules and neither he nor anyone on the team will have any comments about it... posters that seem to know things are saying his downfall was Mary Jane.   We still don't know the reason two players left last season.  Bo runs a tight mouthed ship.  Luckily we have some depth there.  Still hurts.

Bean I'm sorry to hear that you lost a key player, in looking at all of the pre-season injuries it's a shame to lose any viable depth. I can understand Bo running a tight ship and being very closed mouth about it. Some fans, certainly not all, but some are so reactionary now that even the truth isn't enough. You can see that on the various team forums, some just like making up the story and rumors can hurt a program too.

As for the mary jane, it's use is so widespread now I'm not sure it can be stopped anymore. Players just drink copious amounts of water with additives and steam it out in the sauna to pass drug tests, sometimes it works - sometimes not.

pdh - I hope the player

KTF are you excited?  I can tell! I had a friend who went to Seattle two weeks ago, she took some great photos of the stadium from the water, before leaving on a cruise to Alaska. She's an LSU grad though  Monkey Devil!

oh well, have six hours of driving today, then back to work all of tonight. Two short weeks left now, or a little less.........are ya ready for some college football?

pdh I forgot to finish my line to you. The tigers are not alone, the tide had a player arrested last week too. Next week it may be son's team again, the next it will be another team. We can count on that being a never ending cycle in today's sports world for sure.....

FYI, Chizik seems to be very upset and Smith actually was playing last season in a significant role, so it sounds as if Chizik will be punishing him. Oddly enough Saban tossed off Upshaw's domestic violence charge as "no biggie" and Upshaw was a special teams player with no real action at his LB position to date.

What's the difference between a Tiger drinking and throwing some punches (appears it was guys) and a sober elephant pushing a girl and trying to slam her into the parking lot pavement head first?

pdh, how do you feel about everyone picking UF to win the SEC?

Here's the lowdown on Eric Smith, the AU player who was arrested....he was NOT drinking. He was totally sober. There was no drunk and disorderly charge. There was an altercation, but it became a bigger deal because the other kid involved, and his mother, signed a warrant. If they hadn't, then it would've been dropped...legally speaking, because it would've been a misdemeanor. I think I have that right.....
The other kid was not seriously hurt. There was some mouthing off, and taunting, and then a punch was thrown. I'm in no way excusing it, but it was not a total beat down by any means. It was a minor fight.....but still very wrong, and Eric deserves to be in trouble. I'm just relating the details that I've read in the local papers and on the AU forums.

Coach Chizik is not giving out any info, but he will punish that kid, and it won't be pretty. He runs a very tight ship. Eric's gonna wish he'd stayed home. If he'd been drunk, he might've been in jeopardy of losing his place. It's going be handled internally by the Coaches, and his team members, and they aren't talking about it publically. But it isn't being brushed off. Eric is probably in more trouble with the team than he is with the police. He may be sitting out a game or two. I wouldn't be surprised.

I'm also not surprised that Saban would toss off a domestic violence charge as no big deal. He lets a lot of things go that other coaches don't. That's why I dislike him intensely. In the long run, he won't be good for Bama, and that makes me kinda sick.

Bama may be in more NCAA trouble for a fishing trip that took place. Julio Jones and some guy who may be a Booster or something like that, went fishing, and it was possibly a No-No....

Florida is absolutely the best team in the Nation. They deserves to be on top of any list. The SEC is gonna be a bloodbath this year, but I do think the Gators will win it, or at least play in the SEC Championship game. They will be tough for anyone to beat. But since this is SEC college football....on any given Gameday, anything can happen to any team.

Dang....I long for an edit button, or better multi-tasking skills!

The drunk and disorderly charge was for the other kid involved, not Eric Smith.
I omitted that fact accidently. If Eric is convicted, he could go to jail for a year.
I was correct about the charges becoming more serious because the kid and his mother signed a warrant....so the charge is upgraded to assault.
The last time a AU player was arrested was in 2007, when King Dunlap didn't have the money to pay a parking ticket.
