Makes me nervous because Peaches' team, the Huskers are having a tough game... not sure this is the best start to the thread, however.....

Peaches was a fighter and never gave up.  The Huskers are the same.  Perhaps she can use her angel wings in the 2nd half and tip a pass or two our way?  Like Peaches - I love my team no matter what.  No quit.  No way.  No how.  Play it til the end.

Peaches I hope you know how much you were loved by us all.

I think I saw Peaches get her hand in there and break up the 3rd and goal play into the endzone ... 4th down and goal at the 26 for Clemson ... INCOMPLETE and Huskers have the ball!!!

Ah Peaches you did it!  I know you had a hand in this one - it was so very close.  I hope you have met my father in heaven by now - his name is Jerry and he will talk your ear off.  You two would be a riot together.

Thanks for the win Peaches - you did it!  No quit in you.  Never was.  Fight to the finish.

The poor Big 10 getting beaten up again in a major bowl.

USC all over Penn St at the half 31-7.

When is the BCS going to get a clue that the Big 10 does not belong in these games. Never should 2 teams from a down conference been allowed in BCS bowls. The Buckeyes will most likely get dismantled by Texas as well.

Welcome CBB,  you have entered a very peaceful thread, except for maybe a debate or two over a playoff system.

None: Thanks for your wishes about the snow.  We are getting a bit more today.  We set an all time record for the month of December.  Besides the snow on the ground, I have begun to try to get some of it off the roof since it is building up there.

I have not had time to watch even one bowl game.  I hope all of you are being successful with your teams and pools.

Happy New Year!!!!!

Kiwi - glad you enjoyed being a Husker... we can use all the fans we can get.  LOL  I know it is pretty wild the way the thread change played into the outcome of the game.... also I am sure that Monkeys were praying for Peaches at halftime thanks to you.... I do believe our angel above helped us out today.  Knowing her sense of humor she is giggling at us right now and loving every minute of it too.

Are you still planning on going to the Fiesta Bowl?  If so who you rooting for?

Red you have no idea how true your statement was...that was the play of the YEAR for that kid.  He is a walk on junior who hasn't seen much playing time.  I think they put him in due to his height and the starter wasn't having a great game.  When I saw the play I thought of Peaches too!

So sorry about Peaches. I always enjoyed her comments.

Looks as if Tennessee will not lose a bowl game this this bowl season.

What do you  monkeys think of the new Tennessee coach and staff?

Looks like the Hokies beat the Bearcats!

Hey Big Orange!! I'm bumping this from the last thread for my thoughts on the new coach:

Being a life long University of Tennessee fan I was thrilled with the official announcement of Monte Kiffin as our new defensive coordinator. It was a rumor that had been circulating since Lane was hired, but I didn’t get too excited about it in case it didn’t happen. The main criticism I have heard in regards to Monte is he is an NFL coach, not a college coach. Remember he was the head coach of NC State, the defensive coordinator for Lou Holtz at Arkansas, and he was a defensive coordinator under Tom Osborne at Nebraska. Obviously he won’t be out on the road all day everyday like some of the coachs, but he will be closer on the recruiting front. Imagine being a stud defensive prospect considering Tennessee. Monte comes and sits in your living room, taps his Super Bowl 37 ring on the table, and says "I can get you to the NFL". That’d be enough for most any kid to say Tennessee is the place for me! If the other rumors are true, that Ed Orgeron is coming as well, Tennessee will have a core of very good coaches, and recruiters as well. Now we need a qb.

As for the coming season I’m not one of these Vol fans that think we have to make it to the SEC championship game next year for next season to be successful. For me, a successful season would be 7 wins + a bowl game, beating one of Bama, Florida, or Georgia, and the team to improve from game 1 to game 10. Also I would like to see a swagger that Tennessee hasn’t shown in the past few seasons. Well I just wanted to express how happy I am at the direction the program is going. Here is a link to the Monte Kiffin article.
