I just can't help but believe one of the reasons for the delay in Caylee's memorial service is the Holidays. I can't imagine myself having to relive my grandchild's funeral at Christmas every year for the rest of my life. If the A's didn't think of this, someone associated with them may have. I just believe they wanted to move it past the Holidays & into the new year as much as possible. Also, the two weeks during the Holidays is basically shut down as far as any work goes & that is probably another delay. I was just thinking about John Travolta's son & his death being on Newyears. Every year from now on Newyears will be associated with this tragedy for them. Something like this is horrible enough on any day, let alone a Holiday where there normally is celebration. JMO!

I don;t agree - my son died on the 10th of Feb and we had his funeral on the 14th. I do not associate that day with sadness - the day of his death, yes, but not the day of his funeral. I still think that it is much more that they do not want to have LE bothering them - but then again, the private funeral may have been held and we just may not know.

Ahhhh, da sparkenator.    I do understand and can relate, in some ways.  Thank you for sharing this.  I believe that what we experience in life can serve to make us stronger, and a help to others as we share what we've learned along the way. 

Interestingly enough, many folks can relate to this case, either having a loved one who this reminds them of, or knowing someone similiar to one of the Anthony's.  Understanding this family and the dynamics can certainly help folks in understanding their own loved ones and friends. 

I agree with several of the points that you've made.  A person like this, their behavior can and usually does dominate the family.  If for no other reason than everyone needs to be on their toes and alert, every moment of the day.  But especially if the family members get sucked right into the behaviors, either enabling them, becoming victims of them, or both.  We see this in the A's family. 

And sad to say, the great majority of dysfunctional families have as its most central focus to 'appear' normal to those outside the family, and at any cost.  Family secrets are not mentioned, not even whispered about, even within the family!  What happens in the family, stays in the family.  When one person begins to make changes, it's threatening to family members and can cause huge panic within the circle, because it will usually have a ripple effect.  That's why when someone in a family such as the A's do seek help from a therapist, other family members either try to convince them there's nothing wrong, or exclude that person from the circle saying 's/he's the sick one, not any of us.'  Right now I believe we're seeing the A's still trying to convince everyone that there's nothing wrong.  The day is coming when they will very likely turn the tables.  Because for them to admit, even to themselves, that yesss there is a problem, means they will have to look at their own possible part in whatever that problem is.  Many folks will stubbornly refuse to see any of it, even into old age and take it to their grave.  I fear that Cindy may very likely be one of these type of people. 
 

I agree, and I also think that the parents of Casey Anthony were next on the list. I knew a family who was in serious denial of their son's illness. It ended with their death at his hands.

I also think C&G were next on the list.   Actually, I think they were meant to be first, then Caylee.  jmo.

WOW Wyks.   What an eye opener for me this morning.   You have helped me realize why my two sisters don't want me around their families!   I went to counseling over the dysfunction of my immediate family (siblings).   I wanted the issues resolved.   They wanted to keep their secrets....   WOW.    They put me (their sister) out because they don't want the nasty family secrets and deceit exposed to their own children.   And, with my seeking professional help, they're afraid I'll say something around them, because I'm willing to deal with the issues.   Thanks for the insights.

I can understand them not having the burial during the holidays. I just wonder why they haven't atleast had a scheduled date already. Like maybe one day this week. Maybe it's just the "rumors" I hear that they are purposely delaying it in order to delay LE approaching them regarding her death. It bothers me that that could be the reason for the delay. It doesn't bother me that they didn't want to do it during the holiday season. Besides, we all know she died in June, so her death did not occur around the holidays. She just happened to be found two weeks before Christmas. But, IMO, thats KC's fault. Her fault Caylee died, her fault she layed in the woods for 6 mos, her fault no one found her for 6 mos (because she didn't tell anyone where to find her) it was her fault that she was found two weeks before Christmas! I just hate to think that a proper burial is being delayed because they want to buy time before having to speak with LE. To me, it's not right. Just for once they need to do what's best for Caylee, not KC, not the defense team, and not themselves!!

Just to make myself clear from a post I made yesterday.......I don't believe Casey HAS/IS  MPD. I do think the defense may try and use it if they can 'get' a 'diagnosis'. Of course she isn't MPD. In any case, they will certainly use some sort of mental defense. I listed a few back ohhhhhh some ..... 700 threads ago

Nut - If Baez uses a mental defense ... can prosecution bring in his statements where he's told the press more than once that she is not suffering from insanity?  I mean it's out there in the news media ... it's not something just between him and her.

Also ... does anyone know what time the presser is tomorrow?  I actually have to go into my "work place" office sometime tomorrow ... but will schedule myself to be in my "home" office if I know when it is!   

I am a mental health therapist.  KC does not have MPD.  She is a SOCIOPATH.  All of her behaviors are that of chronic pathological liar.  KC was not even a good liar. The people she was around were either very gullible or they just chose to not question her lies.

Roy Kronk is the Orlando, FL utility worker who discover the remains of Caylee on December 10th, 2008.

I'm really sorry about that theboyzmom. What I really meant was Christmas is THE biggest religious holiday & is for Christians, a celebration of Jesus birth. It would be difficult for me to celebrate on one hand & remember a death on the other. Especially a holiday that is so child oriented. If they push the funeral past the holidays some it may be just a tad better on all of them. JMO, again.

It seems more and more common that young women are trying to shirk the responsibility of being a mother.

I can list at least 5 situations I know of first-hand, where individuals (family members and good friends) have basically given away their kids to family members, so they could do their own thing.  It's really shocking to me.

I mean, sure. Being a mom is hard. I can't imagine being a single mom, but you know- there are thousands of women out there who not only CAN do it, but ARE. They are willing to make sacrifices - cut down on partying, for example- so they can bring their children up right.

I just can't help but believe one of the reasons for the delay in Caylee's memorial service is the Holidays. I can't imagine myself having to relive my grandchild's funeral at Christmas every year for the rest of my life. If the A's didn't think of this, someone associated with them may have. I just believe they wanted to move it past the Holidays & into the new year as much as possible. Also, the two weeks during the Holidays is basically shut down as far as any work goes & that is probably another delay. I was just thinking about John Travolta's son & his death being on Newyears. Every year from now on Newyears will be associated with this tragedy for them. Something like this is horrible enough on any day, let alone a Holiday where there normally is celebration. JMO!

I can understand them not having the burial during the holidays. I just wonder why they haven't atleast had a scheduled date already. Like maybe one day this week. Maybe it's just the "rumors" I hear that they are purposely delaying it in order to delay LE approaching them regarding her death. It bothers me that that could be the reason for the delay. It doesn't bother me that they didn't want to do it during the holiday season. Besides, we all know she died in June, so her death did not occur around the holidays. She just happened to be found two weeks before Christmas. But, IMO, thats KC's fault. Her fault Caylee died, her fault she layed in the woods for 6 mos, her fault no one found her for 6 mos (because she didn't tell anyone where to find her) it was her fault that she was found two weeks before Christmas! I just hate to think that a proper burial is being delayed because they want to buy time before having to speak with LE. To me, it's not right. Just for once they need to do what's best for Caylee, not KC, not the defense team, and not themselves!!

Question 1:  What does at or near Cindy's mean?  Is that her work?
Question 2:  Doesn't this just mean that her cell phone was not at the Anthony's?  Or not on?  I know it would be hard to believe that KC did not have her cell phone or have it on, however we do have that one period when that seemed to happen.
