Deenie-  I started a new thread "Adji Desir #2   http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=8407.msg1214329#msg1214329   yesterday, August 21, 2010 and used the same poster for the opening post for it by quoting and copying and pasting from when I had previously used the poster as an opening post on July 4, 2009 (header) in "Adji Desir -Photos, Video and Maps"  http://scaredmonkeys.net/index.php?topic=5581.msg864000#msg864000 .   I didn't even remember who made the image it's been so long.     To use the image again, all I had to do was to use the QUOTE function on a previous post with it and copy and paste over to the next post.  No need to get into anyone's photo bucket to do this.  It's been so long now, but I remember when some of the work making posters and etc. was being done.  I just needed something nice to start the next thread for Adji and used what was here before.  If you are trying to quote after me from when I just made an opening thread using the poster, it's because it's a locked thread at this time.  Admin/mods make them up ahead of time.  If you prefer, I change the poster to something else.  CBB and Brandi have made images that can be used for these type things, and I've asked them to use an image/artwork and they've generously agreed or they've made things and offered to let moderators/admin use them for the opening post of a new thread.  I hope this explains it all.  MuffyBee

I found this interesting article about Del and Nancy Ackerman while I was searching for news of Adji.  The Ackerman's have been challenged in life, overcome adversity and still have given to worthy causes, such as their donation to help find Adji.   an angelic monkey

and always giving back to the people of Naples. Like the $3,000 they put up to help find missing local boy, Adji Desir. Another tribute to turning adversity into triumph is the inspirational book with a spiritual slant they are writing, with a commitment to give a portion of the proceeds to charity.

Muffy

I am at a loss for words.  You know Adji has been my Heart from day one. He is always in my thoughts and prayers.

Your last post of the elderly couple mentioned " The Ackermans"  ... I am literally lost for words. I am so emotionally touched beyond .. whoo tears streaming  ..

Northern would so appreciate this.  My House that I own, born in 1924. I purchased it from a 93 yr old woman.  Beautiful Amazing Woman.  Who was married, had 5 children and raised them in this house that I now own.  Her and her Husband. Mr. And Mrs Ackerman.

O lord give me the power to keep this house - again Northern knows.

My little Adji your part of my House too - that lives within me.  Your always forever in my thoughts and prayers.

In six days little Adji Desir will have been gone for two years. He was out playing in his grandmother’s yard in Farm Worker Village in Immokalee, Florida when suddenly he was no where to be found. He disappeared without a trace. There have been many tips called in but none that lead the authorities to finding this little boy. January 10, 2011 marks the anniversary of his disappearance and still nothing. Where can Adji be?

Please keep Adji in your prayers along with Haleigh and Jonathan and Zahra and all the other innocent children that are being abused, and murdered by others. Someone has to stand up and help these children. God bless them all.

CCSO Partners With Family, Community In Adji Search

Two years ago on Monday, a search began for 6-year-old Adji Desir after he went missing while playing outside of his grandmother’s house in Farm Worker Village in Immokalee.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office has never stopped searching for Adji.

CCSO and Adji’s family still hold out hope they will find out what happened.

As the anniversary of Adji’s disappearance draws near, detectives, along with agents from the FBI and Florida Department of Law Enforcement, will be going door to door in Farm Worker Village and handing out fliers. They’ll also deliver the fliers to businesses in Immokalee.
The fliers feature Adji’s picture and urge anyone who may have information about his disappearance to be a part of the Triangle of Trust, a partnership between law enforcement, the community and Adji’s family.

The fliers are just another way CCSO is trying to get the word out to the Immokalee community that their assistance in the ongoing investigation might help bring Adji home.

“We’ve received a lot of leads from outside of Collier County and outside of Florida, but very few from within Collier County,” said Sgt. Ken Becker of CCSO’s Major Crimes Bureau who is overseeing the investigation into Adji’s disappearance. “We’re hoping that someone with information but who may be hesitant will come forward knowing there is this trust.”

Click here to view the flier.  http://www.colliersheriff.org/Modules/ShowDocument.aspx?documentid=33988

Adji, who would have turned 8 in October, was last seen playing outside his grandmother’s house in Farm Worker Village in Immokalee on Jan. 10, 2009, while his mother was at work. There has been no sign of him since.

More than 1,300 people from law enforcement and other agencies around Florida _ including 700 CCSO deputies _ joined in an intensive weeklong search for the boy, who is developmentally disabled. Searchers combed the Immokalee area on horseback and all-terrain vehicles, in helicopters, with K-9, as well as in patrol cars and on foot.

CCSO investigators fielded hundreds of tips in the weeks after Adji’s disappearance, but the number of tips dwindled by fall 2009.
National exposure of the case helped to generate dozens of new leads after Adji was featured on the cover of the November 2009 issue of People magazine, which profiled the cases of six children who went missing that year.

Adji’s photo and information were featured on national direct mail advertising fliers distributed to 75 million homes across the United States in November/December 2009. The National Center For Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC), Valassis Inc, a leading media and marketing services company, and the U.S. Postal Service distributed the fliers as part of Valassis’ Have You Seen Me?® picture program.

Adji’s disappearance has also been profiled on CNN’s “Nancy Grace” show and on “America’s Most Wanted” as well as on the AMW website.
CCSO has produced a video about the case and the agency is asking that everyone post it to their blogs, Facebook, MySpace and other social networking sites and e-mail the link to it to everyone in their address book. The video's release in July 2009 coincided with the six-month anniversary of Adji's disappearance. Click here to watch the video.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tltX9-Vykco

Anyone with information is asked to call the Collier County Sheriff’s Office at 252-9300, or if you wish to remain anonymous call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780- TIPS (8477).

I think it was Nut who said some time ago, this precious child may have wandered off and elements, etc may have overcome him.
I have a picture of his grandmother and Sandra Cantu on my bulletin board above my computer screen and Christine Sheddy's children's photos are in my Bible.
