Hi Monkeys

I've been lurking off and on ... can't keep up.  Watched Greta last night (with eyes closed in bed) and heard CA and Lois have been having a little e-mail spat!  Then of course - lights out for Newfie zzzz zzz zzz.  Did anyone watch it?  What are they spatting about?
CA emailed Lois that Dakota can come to Caylee's funeral but Lois can't, and it took off from there. CA saying Casey would not harm Caylee, she loved her dearly, blah blah blah. They both need muzzles.
Hey Rose, check this out, I did some research yesterday on the e-mail thing, and it looks like to me that Lois actually contacted Cindy first trying to see if her Granddaughter was gonna be invited to the memorial and then when Cindy told her that Dakota could come but she could not is when Lois started scrapping with Cindy and then what did Lois do...imediatly put it out there and try to get some attention from it,  These people are silly and are just muddying the waters even more than they already are,  This is the stuff that keeps throwing the attention off what the real issue is. Caylee, and the b!t(h that killed her!
They are both loose cannons, what I don't understand is, is Cindy sending out invitations to the funeral, because I've never heard of that. Unless there is a handful of people who are welcome and then she is telling them when and the time and everything?

This Sin-cin crap just makes me want to puke.  First, her attorney says that she's keeping herself busy with making funeral arrangement plans for Caylee (how to decorate a cardboard box), picking-out flower arrangements (probably dandelions from the neighbor's yard), and I don't remember what else.  Now, I can also see Sin-cin picking-out funeral invitations from the local printer, addressing and probably requesting a RSVP (no self-stamped envelope enclosed), ordering a cake from someone who will donate it (sniff sniff), getting special paper plates, napkins, plastic glasses, nuts and punch for the reception after the service.  Oh yeah, I'm sure she won't forget to hit Victoria Secrets for a sexy, well-endowed bra for those big hugs she'll be giving the guys.  Got to give them cuties a little hoochie cooch.   Slut...Bitch...Whore!  (can I use the "b" word?)

I work for one of the legacy carriers and did Emergency Response for most of my 10 years here.  The plane is bouyant and will float for a while but it wouldn't have sunk immediately unless the fuselage had cracked and had taken on water.  Birdstrikes can cause major damage and could have caused this, we have several birdstrikes a year but normally we can turn the aircraft around.  The people will be fine and the rafts would have been deployed immediately.  Pilots practice for this all the time and he did an amazing job.

News crews won't have an accurate count of souls on board until US releases it.  Right after an accident, the manifest is locked down, first responders are called and only then is the manifest released to the team.  Verifiction has to made along with the reconciled airport report and that takes at least an hour depending on the size of the aircraft.  Once that happens, an accurate count is passed along and notifications are then made.

We practice, alot.  It looks like everyone will make it off ok, thank God for that!!!  And thank God for well trained pilots and trained responders!!!!

Thank you for the info Mon!

NP.  The pax will be taken to a staging site, checked over by emergency personnel and the airline will assign an escort to each passenger or family.  Everything they need will be provided for - food, clothing, phone calls.    Arrangements will be provided for family members to travel to the affected passengers.  The family will be flown to the site free of charge.  The carrier will make arrangements for onward travel when they're ready and they will be given a temp cc to use for purchases since all of their baggage is still on board.  Parents will be given baby items, people with illness will get new meds and those sorts of things.  Once the plane is released by NTSB, the carrier will start cleaning it out and try to reunite the bags with the people.  They will even give them a cell phone to use until they get theirs back.  Oh yeah, and provide a ton of counseling.  They really are provided for.

Thanks for all the info!

Mon, thanks for the excellent tutorial. I'm one of those fearful flyers...the attendents always recogonize that glazed look in my eyes. My biggest fear is going down over Lake Michigan...flying over the Rockies or the Alaska Range don't bother me as much as that big pond!

[/quote]

Don't be fearful, just remember, these flight attendants log thousands of hours of flight time a year and they always make it through ok.  No one has a death wish and they wouldn't do the job if there was something to be afraid of.  The 2 accidents in less than 30 days and no fatalities should reflect how safe it really is.  Water landings actually have a higher survivability average than ground landings - so the big pond is safer!  Smile

The only thing that pisses me off is that they aren't doing a better job of keeping the media further away.  Alot of times the passengers wander over to the media and the feeding frenzy starts.  If they stay with their escort, they are insulated from that madness.  Think being in a scary car accident, they're all a little shocky and should be left alone.

Sorry Klaas, I just wanted to try to help.  No more OT.
