Did you get a sense of there being something amiss with this guy, when you interviewed him and his wife? His wife certainly is upset and he seemed agitated and nervous.

ANSWER: He was very upset. What I don't know is if he was upset because of the serious problem or because he knows something... both are explanations for what I observed.

Paulus very well could have a sexual deviation.  Many times, those people also have a drug problem.  Even though KTF didn't say or imply Paulus was a drug user, it certainly wouldn't surprise me.  He definitely looked like he needed a fix during his meeting at the house. That kind of sweat is more than just nerves IMO.

I agree Buckeye.  Joran learned from Paulus.  They feed off each other.

I have heard of people sweating like that from coke.  But hey what do I know I'm only a monkey

SCARBOROUGH:  You met them up close obviously at that meeting.  Tell me, what were they like?  Compare those parents that you met back then to what you saw this morning on television.

HOLLOWAY TWITTY:  Well, really, the most significant one that‘s changed of course is Paulus van der Sloot.  He‘s a completely different man than the one that was seated before me during the month of June. 

And there are so many things that are different.  This was a man that, Joe, I had to call him from the bushes.  He could not even maintain eye contact with me.  He was tremoring just pretty significantly, sweating to where his wife had to wipe it from the table.

This is not the same man that was seated before me.  This seems to be now a much more confident man.  And that‘s a concern of mine.

I would think that job would be based more on evaluations than a written test.  They were rotated through different departments to get experience.  I would think their knowledge was already ascertained before the appointment.  Somebody figured out he was crooked or connected or addicted or some other BIG problem...not stupid...IMO

Frantically, I ask the pit bosses if they've seen Joran. There's no sign of him. I turn and see Paulus on his cell phone again. He reports to us that his son is back at their house now with a friend, Deepak Kalpoe, the owner of the silver Honda.

Meanwhile, two Wyndham Hotel security guards report that they saw two dark-skinned males and a tall white male with a blond girl out by the beach a few hours ago. The men in our group split up to search the beach area. I remain with Paulus and the police, still clutching Natalee's portrait. I hope our men will walk back in with her. But they don't.

By the time the DEA agent arrives, it's 3 in the morning. The police leaning against their squad car are several feet behind Joran. It's a school night. The boys aren't dressed as if they've returned from a night of casino gambling. They're in grubby T-shirts and shorts. I make a mental note to ask to see the casino footage from the Wyndham later on. Alberto and Claudio come back and forth between the circle of men and my car to update me on the conversation.

They took her out the second or third night in Koen's boat, or they used the fisherman's boat (ATM withdrawal to pay for fuel/bribes).
This is a pastime event by some on the island, and it had to be covered up so as not to hurt tourism....paulass called in some favors early on and it snowballed to where ahata/authorities/powers that be made a conscious decision to never let the events of Natalee's demise  be exposed.
paulass is knew deep in sexual perversions and/or drugs and/or human trafficking...his role in govt contracts gave him leverage for favors....

And I thought, No, why are you asking that? And he did it — they did it repeatedly to Jug. And when I was hearing that, it just — it just felt like it brought everything full circle of what we had been fighting for.

VAN SUSTEREN: Do you think, if the Aruban police asked that question within 48 hours of Natalee disappearing, and now we hear it on the tape with Joran two-and-a-half or three-and-a-half years later, whatever it is by now — do you think the Aruban police heard him say that? Do you think he told that to the Aruban police that night when they talked to him?

HOLLOWAY: I have absolutely no doubt that the only reason why that question was asked of us was they had a confession or an admission of this from Joran Van Der Sloot himself. So definitely. There is no way that we can tie what Joran said — you know, no way that we cannot tie when Joran said during that taped interview to what was asked of us from Dennis Jacobs not — within 48 hours. Absolutely. Absolutely, they knew.

And he only asked me that once, and from there forward, three other detectives asked Natalee's step father probably a dozen times, Larry. And then, just like all the stuff like when all the people that were there, all the people that came with me to help, they never even questioned us for two weeks. If they wanted an answer, they could have got a lot of the answers about the deal about the 4:00 in the morning when he said he picked him up at McDonald`s. There were a lot of those answers there that they could have had if they wanted them. And just I think they got in it early to, you know, cover up, and they just had to cover their tracks all the way through.

Beth Holloway: The facts are within 48 hours of Natalee's disappearance, a lead detective asked me if she had a history of epilepsy or seizures. Two and a half years later, the main suspect himself, admits that Natalee -- he felt as if she suffered an epilepsy or seizure. And he even indicates how she's shaking. So, if we look at just that one-- just that one piece, that's one thread out of a lot. Then, I have to say yes, there definitely was some collusion and corruption going on in the early days of Natalee's disappearance. Absolutely.
 
However, according to the prosecutor's office it's standard procedure to ask if a missing person might have a seizure disorder.

Police and prosecution officials declined on-camera interviews, but have consistently denied that there was any corruption, collusion or mishandling of the investigation.
