Janet - I was getting ready to set out some bait if you hadn't showed up when you did......

Don't do it Janet. The Green Tea has Hinky powers!

wingnut ... there are times I would love nothing more than a cup of coffee but ... when all s said and done ... quitting was not that difficult.  Hubby does not drink coffee ... so I think the absence of temptation really helps.

Hey ... in the Musing Thread ... I submitted a response to a post of yours.

Keepthefaith ... you are right on!!  My cup after cup of green tea throughout the day does wonders.  It makes me feel hinky all over.

Janet

You quit drinking coffee????????

I never drank coffee either.

Just swamp water lately.

Thanks, caesu.  I think its kind of fascinating.

I also *think* I'm glad that PVV is on the rise.  They, PVV, suffered a sudden loss (over 10 seats?) around October, 2007.  Do you know what caused that?

I do hope I'm understanding correctly that this is similar to one of our political polls, and the loss or gain of seats is hypothetical, i.e. if the election were held at that point in time.  Thanks for asking that Anna, good question.

this sudden loss around October 2007 was when a new party was launched with a simular agenda.
look at the orange line (TON) on the graph i posted earlier and compare with the brown line (PVV).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proud_of_the_Netherlands

but this party almost disappeared due to mismanagement and no real program.
as a result Wilders regained seats in the polls.

and these polls are somewhat simular to the polls for the seats in congress.

difference is that in the Netherlands there is no single-winner voting system (for senator/representatives) but proportional representation voting system.

Netherland's Crown Prince Willem Alexander, right, with his Argentinian-born wife Princess Maxima.

When Her Majesty Queen Beatrix "by the Grace of God Queen of the Netherlands" celebrated her 70th birthday earlier this year, the Dutch press was feverish with speculation about whether she would abdicate.
However, the birthday came and went and there's still no sign that the monarch is going to retire, thus giving her oldest son, Prince Willem-Alexander, and her daughter-in-law, Princess Maxima, more time to prepare for their eventual takeover of the throne.

Prince Willem-Alexander and Princess Maxima have three daughters, Princess Catharina-Amalia, 5, Princess Alexia, 3, and Princess Ariane, 1.

Their marriage in 2002 caused some controversy because of her Argentinean family connection.

Maxima's father had served as Argentina's minister of agriculture when the country was controlled by the military. During this era, known as the "dirty war," thousands of people were tortured, killed or simply made to disappear.

He went to Argentina to find a wife.. What a babe too.
AND she gets to take over the Netherlands eventually.
How cool is that..  ;D

The currant President of Argentina was PUT into power by Hugo and has now GRABBED all the Social Security money..
I can see this working out over time.. Look at all of those inheriting children.. Might as well start speaking Spanish now..

O.K. I just dusted myself off (been in musings) and need to catch up here although doesn't appear to have been activity here today.

That picture of the Crown Prince and his family is great.  His wife is beautiful as are his children.

I don't know but they are sure identical dresses so someone had to make them for them.

Oh, you are so talented, Magnolia.  I've never mastered any of it, and wouldn't complete a chore.   The suggestion by Bastibro was not very nice to begin with, so I should not have brought it up, again.  Maybe he should take up knitting, instead.
