Defense claims Casey Anthony case mirrors TV show

Casey Anthony's defense attorneys appeared this morning on NBC's Today Show and compared their client with the lead character from the popular 1960s TV show, The Fugitive.

In that television show, actor David Janssen plays Dr. Richard Kimble. He blames a one-armed man for the murder of his wife, but no one believes him and he is convicted in her death. Kimble runs from the law, but is vindicated in the end.

"The person who seemed to be so guilt that the locals have made this person so guilty," attorney Linda Kenney Baden told Today Show host Meredith Vieora. "He was so hated and he ran from the law and it turns out he was innocent. In this case, we believe our client [Anthony] is innocent."

Casey Anthony, 22, is charged with murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee Marie, and is being held without bail at the Orange CountyJail. Caylee's remains were found close to the home the toddler shared with her mother and grandparents.

Anthony claims Caylee was kidnapped by her babysitter, Zenaida Gonzalez, who investigators think does not exist.

"The comparison [to the television show] is for everyone has to wait. You have to stop saying someone is guilty," Baden said.

Lead defense attorney Jose Baez said "it's her [Anthony] against the world."

He spoke little about the change of venue, saying he plans to "keep the location we're asking for secret."

"I don't want that disclosed," Baez said. "I don't want what's going on in Orlando to happen in the new location."

Baez added, "I am doing the best I can for my client...I am quite frankly, doing the oath that I took."

pfft isnt strong enough that they are comparing this case to an innocent person & labeling Casey by the public as Osama Bin Linen & Baez as being Hilter...I can think of a few Italian words that are much stronger but I cant type here that is for certain!   The article doesnt even touch on it enough until you see the video above

I saw this on today.  It is an outrage mo.  How does LKB think she can further her case by insulting Americans by comparing Casey to Osama bin Laden?  and poor Baez, victimized as Hitler!!  Are they nuts!!??

So the cats out of the bag.  Almost $200 grand made by selling Caylee/Casey pic's.  I hope there is such an outcry that no one dares to purchase another picture.

An expert on NG last night spoke to this.  How most folks treasure their pictures and wouldn't dream of selling them.  How they focus on the pic's, memorializing their lost loved ones, processing, lamenting what can no longer be...first day at school, first boyfriend, marriage and children...it was so moving.

From the wonderful defense team, "the forensics that LE is putting forward may not be science." Both Baez and Baden are in New York, so what I'm figuring is the next doc dump must be a good one. I'm sure they will be on Geraldo also.

I dunno, but I hope they don't hire F Lee Bailey too! (Yikes! Is he still alive? I feel stupid, but I did look it up and couldn't find anywhere that he died-just that he was born in 1933).

Bailey was first noticed when he defended a doctor, George Elderly, who was charged with murdering his wife. The doctor—whose story served as the basis for the television series and film The Fugitive—was found not guilty. Soon thereafter, another doctor, Samuel H. Sheppard, who was also accused of murdering his wife, was found not guilty because of Bailey's defense. Bailey was on his way to stardom.

This new standout lawyer did not shy away from the spotlight. Indeed, Bailey drew criticism for appearing on television talk shows and discussing various cases. The Supreme Court of New Jersey even disallowed him from practicing in that state for a year. His second wife and former secretary, Froma, stood by while he was written about in magazines much the way a film star might be. He divorced Froma in 1972 and married Lynda Hart that same year.

Again Bailey used his stardom to further his career. He wrote The Defense Never Rests and For the Defense, as well as legal textbooks. Though Bailey lost his defense of Albert DeSalvo, a mental patient who admitted to being the Boston Strangler—a serial killer who had murdered thirteen women—the case did not damage Bailey's reputation.

   Yeah, I couldn't find anywhere that he died. I was joking about them hiring him, at the same time thinking they really would. I have no idea either if he still is practicing, but they could be "consulting" with him or something? I don't know, that's just a wild guess, but they brought up this whole comparison thing! That's what made me look up about Shepperd and etc., and FLB came up.

Of course we all remember him from the OJ case, now there's another comparison to KC!!

The fugitive was eventually exonerated due to forensics ...

Casey will spend the rest of her life in prison due to forensics ...
