I saw this on youtube and thought I would share, I don't think I have seen it posted here yet and if it has ... sorry for the repeat.

The esteemed Dr. Hnery Lee was accused of taking evidence ( a fingernail tip ) from the home of Phil Spector. And not turning it over.
Phil's defense was that Lana shot herself. A broken off fingernail tip might have meant that she resisted Phil putting the gun in her own mouth as she was depressed. It was a small point, but it might have made a difference.
Dr. Lee works all the time. He is not young. Have to wonder how he can keep up the pace. Guess even he can slip up being so in demand to be an expert everywhere.
I just hope that there is fingerprint evidence on the duct tape or the heart shaped sticker that is conclusive. No one could 'splain that away. Not even the esteemed Dr. Henry Lee.  lol

Lee is a joke IMO, and the nail allegedly had bullet swipe on it, meaning her nails had to be in her mouth trying to push the barrel out and the bullet can in contact with the gases emitted from the gun, so she couldn't have pulled the trigger...... it was a crucial piece of evidence that was "lost".

TY. I didn't follow the case, my DD did and that was the low down I got from her in the line up at the cash in the drugstore. I know he was involved in the OJ case, Scott Peterson  ??? case, but I am going to look it up and see if he was FOS way back then too. Or if this FOS-ness is a recent development.

Actually, because Sarah Palin was a public figure the proof of malice is WAY higher - that is why people get away with making fun of celebrities. Wonder if CinCin qualifies now?

Thanks Boyzmom. Why is there a difference, public vs private? I didn't read the whole story that was posted but wasn't one of the people a judge or a doctor or something. Wouldn't that be a "public" person. Cindy is PUBLIC now since she has been on every morning show, NG, GVS, etc? Can she sue me cause I think she has a mushroom head? Can KC sue me cause I say she is a slore? Can Lee sue me cause I made fun of his knee socks and shorts? If so, let them sue me! If they win, they can get all my assets. I have a dog that hey definately will not want, I have a car that is falling apart and that is about it! I say bring it on Cindy.   

The difference is not that public people can not get damages, but rather that the speech must be way over the top. What you may say about a normal person (like you or me) is much less than what you can say about a public figure - which is anyone that has a public persona by their choice - politicians, judges and movie/tv people meet that criteria. If you are famous because of something bad you did then it is not as protected. Also, there has to be real damages and the statement must be untrue. For example, saying that someone is black is not prohibited because it is a fact. Lying and saying they are Muslim is probably prohibited if they work in an area that may cause problems for them at their job. Saying someone committed a crime would likely cause them problems, and if not true, would cause a problem for the person that said it. This is one of the reasons that people like NG make a point of saying ALLEGED criminals. If they have not been convicted it would be a problem to say they are criminals. It is a pretty vague area of law governed on a case by case basis.

Wendi, the crux of libel and slander (written words/spoken words respectively) is that they are lies.  One cannot lie about another without potentially paying a price.  But by the same token, the victim must be prepared to prove that the lies were written or spoken and that the victim has suffered "damages" about which I wrote in an earlier post.

I watched that one like a hawk~PIE was one of my best friends friend from college. It was the biggest clusterf@ck besides this and OJ I've ever seen., But, H.Lee's FOS - ness goes way back, OJ, Michael Peterson and many more. I honestly think he hid out in China for months after Jufge Fidler found him to be not-credible on national TV boy, I loved that judge! But the craziest thing I've ever heard was the Michael Peterson case when he stated that his wife's death had to be an accident because "too much blood" . Hello, everybody!  Way behind reading, but wanted to post a question.  Wouldn't Cindy/George legally need a restraining order or an order of protection to prevent an individual or individuals from attending a public event?  Wouldn't they have to prove to a judge that said person(s) had committed or threatened to commit a physical act of violence against them, in order to obtain such an order?  Wouldn't they have had to file a police report to document said threats, prior to obtaining that order?
Sorry to post and run, but I have some work to do.  BBL to finish reading.  Looking forward to your posts, as usual.

I don't know the answer to your question, but it seems to me that even though it is described as a 'public' event, perhaps the church property is considered private property so therefore that is why they are able to call the shots as to exactly who will be permitted to enter ?

I've had mine for 10yrs and still buy more, where I used to live I could just run to the nearest boutique and buy a pair, but here I have to order them online because their is pretty much only tourist type stores here

I used to like him but after seeing him testify in the Michael Peterson case [ Durham, North Carolina ] a couple of years ago I have no more respect for him whatsoever.

Wendi, another post I made (that I guess was skipped over) was that I think/hope (aka fondest wish) is that Lee made a deal w/State (aka turned State's evidence) against his sister. 

Don't apologize for your speculation about all that.  Sometimes things are percieved otherwise by readers.  This is kind of a passionate bunch and sometimes in our haste to take in all the posts, not everyone notices that something is "just a thought"/pure speculation.  Don't fret.
