More from J Velez-Mitchell:

From a local reporter:   Father & Misty both took polygraph tests and they said they passed.  Sheriff's office will not confirm whether they did or not.

Misty gave a lengthy interview and told them that Haleigh was in a different bed, which was different from what they had heard earlier.  She said when she got up to go to the bathroom, the kitchen light was on, which they had also not heard earlier.

Reporter said she questioned sheriff about getting a lot of conflicting reports.  Sheriff says you have to remember you're talking about a 17 yr old girl,  and sometimes you get that with younger people.

Bedwetting could be for a different reason than abuse.

44 sex offenders live within a 5 mile radius of the home.

J Velez Mitchell points out that in one interview with Misty, she says "I loved (past-tense) that little girl like she was my own."

Wendy Murphy says what bugs her is that even if you're a dumb criminal, it's a dopey thing to do to take a child from a home around 3 a.m.  because you can't predict that the child would be quiet or alone unless you know the sleeping habits.  She says it's also interesting that it happened to be at a time when the father wasn't home and that the children were with a 17-yr-old nitwit (Wendy Murphy's words, not mine  ).  Also says it bugs her that there was apprx.  27 min. time lapse between time child was deteremined to be missing and 911 call.

A small bladder is one that I know of, first hand.

Me too, Kat.  One of my daughters had to have an IVP x-ray, years and years ago, for bedwetting.  She had a combination of extremely small bladder and very heavy sleeper.  It eventually worked out but was very upsetting for her.  Not always abuse.

This little girl has probably had a very tumultuous five years.  She was taken from her mother, I heard there was a drug problem with her.  I can't imagine it was a fun household to be living in before the parents got divorced.  And the father, God love him, twenty five and a live-in seventeen year old girlfriend?  Trying not be judgmental but.......

Has there been a problem with the forum today?  I couldn't get on at all this afternoon and it just took three tries to post that last one.  Is it me?

I don't like the way the girlfriend closes her eyes when she talks.  Reminds me of Susan Smith.

If she wets the bed for these reasons then she may not have woken up if someone took her out of bed...especially if she WAS in the dads/gfs bed and always got moved to her own room when dad got home. I just wish we could get "facts" we could go by

I just watched the interview with the GF and she acts as odd as the dad......NO direct eye contact with the cameras. I'm not jumping to conclusions~but, it doesn't look good. Then all the conflicting stories makes me really suspicous

Also, I'd feel better if LE told us who in fact passed polygraphs and not the people who took them. JMO

My youngest daughter just turned 18,ran off with her bf,a 21 year old father of 2 that refuses to work, said my daughter will work and support him and his kids, which she does..she did this 2 months before her 18th Bday.. LE said there was nothing I could do to stop her,she was to close to being 18.Let me add, I do NOT approve of her and his relationship, never did and I DO NOT approve of HIM period.thats just the mom in me.. I guess the girls are different now... I have seen several hook up with older single Dads.  Just sayin.

LOL, a seventeen year old might like the idea of being mommie until reality sets in.  Kids that age get caught up in the DRAMA of relationships.

I am kinda thinking, maybe, the girlfriend went out, or was sitting in a car in front of the house talking to friends when Haleigh disappeared.  Or could one of her old boyfriends have done it and now they are scared out of their minds?  Well, LP's $25,000.00 would bring that story out in a hurry.

I hope it isn't the Mark Lunsford case, all over again.  Why the hell did we ever move to this state?

GF. Better not say it ( self editing ) Hinky meter for me. Nothing to do with the story, could be a media mis communication. The gf called her bf at work, he told her to call 911.
She is truly a nit wit. Quoting Wendy Murphy.

some points ng brought up...why would a stranger/intruder take the time to both prop open an outside door and turn on the kitchen light.
