Anna - you are right - fences don't work....but if the old folks would close the windows and turn on two box fans, they probably would not hear anything....

Well, you are right, Mere, and the dogs were there first.  The old folks moved into their neighborhood and are the ones who should adjust imo.


I was just trying to think how a fence could make it quieter and couldn't figure that out, lol.


 

Maybe a fence like a big padded mattress.  I am going to have to move into town per my children who seem to think they are now the boss of me and can only keep one or two at the most of my dogs in an apartment.  It is just devastating to me.

 

I was thinking some strategically placed lawn sprinklers might do the trick.. but that's just me.   

 

You could pull a "Cindy" with the garden hose.  Then pull out your hammer and put up caution tape.

I said Goodnight in the Caylee thread, checked the clothes in the dryer but they were still damp.

So I went to see if WS had any insights we hadn't come up with re:  today's info.  Nope.

Finished cleaning kitchen, thinking all the while about that Gatorade bottle with the toilet paper roll inside... what on earth... why was that there... inside the Disney bag... just inches from Caylee's little skull!!  Why?

Hmmm...I'm guessing that's supposed to hurt my feelings, but it doesn't. Both on the internet and in real life people talk about each other - they hazard guesses as to what motivates someone, try to figure out what the other person is thinking, try to calculate what they're going to do next, and activities of that ilk. So what?

Internet wars have nothing to do with real life, and just because someone on an internet forum says something it doesn't make it so. I like people who post at SM and I like people who post at GM. The last time I checked not one of them was perfect and neither was I. I'm not going to get in the middle of hostilities. The way I see it, I have a God-given right to like anyone I choose. Actually, I have a God-given right to like everyone if I choose.

And I'm not pretending anything. I am what I am. I have good qualities and I have bad qualities. C'est la vie.

I disagree, I do think we all make mistakes including myself, but I do not condone the kind of stalking and harrassment that's part and parcel of GM these days.

A few very smart analysts would also vehemently disagree with you on that point, shame you didn't listen to Dana's show last night. Better yet, go google the think-tank of concerns regarding the internet and it's capacity to harm our privacy, our reputation, and our psyches. In fact, you like to post at SM, a missing persons site? Most of those are females, NOW (National Organization of Women) would tell you that the incidence of assault against women and children leaped - some would say tripled - with the advent of internet porn.

Oh I care about behaviors on the internet, I can assure you I can, no pollyanna here.

This happened to me on a major website that one would assume would be respectable and safe for its members. I was involved in a few website forums on a topic of special interest to me and became the victim of a gang of internet bullies who also were interested in that same topic. It wasn't enough just to leave one forum because they would find me at the other forums on the same topic.

Then they started signing up in my name or very close versions of my screen name and attacking other members so I'd get the blame. When I dropped that name and started using other names, the one webmaster compared IP addys and informed the bullies which new screen names were me so they were able to gang up on those new names there and at other sites.

What they didn't count on was that I could use a proxy web connection to provide anonymous web surfing and was able to enter communities where they managed to get me banned. I could get screenshots of their posts where they posted private information and was able to go "upstream" and complain to the webservice provider and have the offending posts deleted.

The best part was that I was able to send screenshots of their many aggregious violations of copyright law (posting entire news articles with no attribution and no link back, thus claiming themselves as the authors of other peoples' work) to the lawyers for some of the biggest media outlets in the country. The Washington Post, for example, does not take kindly to having entire articles "stolen" in this manner.

They were like chickens with their heads cut off trying to figure out how I could "see" what they were up to. It was quite amusing.

If anyone here has a need to shield their true IP addy from possibly unscrupulous webmasters, you should consider anonymous web surfing. You can use an online service like Anonymouse or you can use software on your computer that will log you onto the internet from numerous IP addys that are ever-changing (each time you connect to the internet, it's a different IP addy). That's what I used to fool the unscrupulous webmaster and in my profile on his site, I invented some globe-trotting job that would account for my posting from the U.K. one day and Hong Kong another day and Florida yet another day and so on. LOL. I had fun.

Here's the GOOGLE SEARCH RESULTS for "anonymous web surfing free."  Parents, take note: If your children web surf, anonymous web surfing can be their friend. The sad irony is that perverts also use anonymous web surfing to mask their locations.

In fact, that forum posts news articles at times without links too, thanks for that tip ! I know AOL is aware of their forum now and SM sees them post their research there freely without linking back?

If another website is copying and pasting the content of this website or any other website, then that is copyrght violation. SM owns its own content. They can pursue the matter and have their copied and pasted material removed if they choose to do so.

However, nobody "owns" facts. The actual informational content (facts) contained in a news article or website post, for example, are not copyrightable. A newspaper doesn't own the copyright to the facts of a news story. A website doesn't own the facts posted on its website.

If someone posts here that Joran is the main suspect in Natalee's disappearance, this website does not own a copyright to that fact. That fact can be posted anywhere else.

What cannot be reposted is the manner in which the information or facts are presented. That writing is copyrightable and no copyright notice need be displayed. The original writing in a website post or email is the copyrighted material of that post or email's original author and the manner in which information is displayed on a website is the copyrighted material of the website owner. It is illegal to copy chunks of another website.

I am not a lawyer and no one should assume I am an expert on copyright law. I have had reason in the past to deal with this issue and have learned from my own experiences. That is all.

I will add also that kudos to mytime for admitting that kermit's personal and private information was being posted at CnG. That is clearly a violation of many internet privacy laws and also the TOS of their host for that forum.

For kermit to now know that's how low they will go, so that they have recourse to stop it, I'm grateful for that. Even as angry as I am at some at GM, I would not violate their privacy as they all move to join you in attempting to violate mine and make threats or bully publicly. I've made sure both of my children are aware who might wish to hurt them in that group also, my son emailed his coach regarding this last night as a heads up. How lovely for him to know some will go that low?

I also know who in that group thrives on hunting down personal information and I have posts and emails she sent regarding her efforts. I take the time to read, digest, and even reflect on it.

Most at GM today joined CnG. CnG is the new refugees, didn't you get the memo?

oldiebutgoodie, thanks for the clarification but I don't speak for SM or news agencies either. My concern with GM is the violation of my personal information or private communications privacy, or that of my children. They have a large hidey hole there, I have an email stating that all of the shango from SM is stored there and also at CnG now. I don't think that's news to anyone now though, in fact due to my travel over the last year I frankly wasn't even given an FYI of who was admitted to the site I established for fun and frolic for females - but I surely learned who was banned, after the fact. Lesson learned who one can trust, it's barely enough to put into a thimble. I made Yap the admin for that site while I traveled, also saved posts, pm's as I tried to unravel why all of the hatred generated at SM had spilled over there to the degree people were banned without my knowledge or consent.

For the record, BB was made a member there and had I been asked if I approved in advance, I would have categorically said no. Never trusted that hair

None, you asked me and now I will answer. I am a single woman, a homeowner, and the mother of the greatest son in the world. I put myself through college, I have a degree. I am a realtor and take on the resposibility of helping my clients buy and sell houses. I am not a puppet, I don't let people misguide me, and I don't sit on the phone all day planning attacks. If I only had the time! You try and do what I do daily trying to earn a living while raising my son and driving him to sports, chess lessons, guitar lessons, and running Cub Scout meetings and PTO. Step one day in my shoes and then you will find why I find it obsurd that you think I am on the phone all day trying to figure a way to derail threads at SM.

Now let me address one more issue. I have the most fabulous son in the world, I talk about him 24/7, he is the absolute love of my life and if it were up to me, I would splash his beautiful face all over for the world to see this amazing creature God has blessed me with. I look at the pics of Natalee and they still make my heart smile and hurt at the same time. What brought us here I think more than any other reason is that we are parents, we saw Natalee's love for her family through her family and we saw the tremendous love and bond her family had with her and we connected to that. What I can NOT comprehend, is taking pics of one's precious daughter, beautiful daughter, and instead of proclaiming, this is the love of my life, you claim this is yourself to deceive your friends. I honestly am tearing up...who does that? Does that to your child and does that to your friends. Am I the only one extremely affected by that? I didn't buy whay Kermit was stating, I said I didn't buy it, and I got page after page after page of "I stand with the frog". I didn't create the division, I never said the frog or me, I would never ask someone to choose, I simply said I call "bullshit" to what she was proclaiming. Other decided they had to choose the frog's friendship over mine. fine, it's done and I lost what I thought was good friends over this. But I can't say I believe that the members of the Persistence deceived the family just to be liked by people, I just can't do that, it goes against every fiber of my being.


One last thing, I still get so angry remembering members that I have posted for years with, shared life, love, joy, happiness, tragedy, death, every aspect of life with, post page after page of thank-you's to Kermit for her service to our Country, because they were deceived into believing she had served our great Country and 4 Presidents. Am I wrong? Did I read that wrong? Am I really misguided in what was said and done these past few months?

My Dad is a war veteran, he served our great Country, I will gladly honor my father for the service he gave our country just like every other veteran I meet. I just sold a house to a 22 year old young man who serve our Country by fighting the war in Iraq. He was shot while he was there. 22 years old and with war wounds that he will live with for the rest of his life. I will gladly and proudly bow down to that young man, he is a true hero, and he doesn't brag about it, he doesn't ask for accolades or applause, he is just trying to live his life in a productive manner, that is a hero to me.

And I will add that Jug Twitty is a hero to me. If anything ever went wrong with Nicholas, that is a man I would want standing in my corner. There are few with as much courage, integrity and honor as Jug. He is a friend to me, doesn't have to be but he is, and I have nothing but respect for both he and Beth. I believe Jug's word over Kermit's also. For that I am called misguided.

When have I ever proclaimed I was my daughter or posted her photo here proclaiming to be her???? Are you stating I am defiling Natalee's photo now? CBB made this avatar for me and it's to honor Natalee. Where are you getting these things from? I"m sorry but it's bizarre???? I can't follow what you are writing at times, truly I cannot.

Everyone here has a story, many here are less fortunate then you or I. I went to college on a full academic scholarship, I didn't have to for my parents would have paid my tuition but I was proud that they did not. If you think I didn't work hard to keep that scholarship you are mistaken. I can't know what you are being told about me by others but I can only imagine from what you have posted about me.

I've had a very fortunate life but I've also been a single mother and worked very hard. In fact post my divorce in 98 both of my kids who are both talented athletes couldn't play on summer teams for my job would not allow me to leave my office to drive them to practice in the afternoons. One of my biggest expenses then, I had no child support, was the late fee for picking them up from after school care. I didn't have a forgiving boss, I was required to commit a minimum of 60 hours weekly at work onsite. Be glad your job allows for your son's activities, be very glad. Nonetheless my kids found their way and we ALL adore our children, ALL of us think of them as the light in our lives. Only when I met Rick did I have that other person to help, then I lost him. A tragedy but then many here have had tragedy in their lives. I haven't lost a child nor had my child molested, I read some of the posts here and I can't even respond it is so horrifying they have had to endure that. Losing Peaches was a tragedy and some at GM had met her in person, yet when she began to decline, I didn't hear from Peaches direct about others calling to check in on her. I called her as often as I could, often from an airport. Maybe others emailed, I don't know, but I can tell you to get a voicemail back from her husband in which he was telling me she had died. If you think that didn't take a chunk of my soul  you are mistaken. I can't tell you how that felt, just listening to his voice broke my heart, to hear his agony.

We have many new posters here who have stories, equally as important to mine or yours or anyone else's. I did connect with Natalee's family early on but a family member PM'd me here first,  eventually I even spoke to Dave as well by phone as did Rick, for assistance with an internet security issue - Rick was an internet security consultant. I don't pursue the family however, never have, never will. I figure they can reach out and touch any of us here, I know Red and Klaas would facilitate that if asked.

My question to you is that if Jug is so adamant as you are stating, isn't he capable of posting here? I'd recommend if indeed he is as upset as you've tried to portray that he is. I would think he's quite capable of doing that.

I had my first cup at 5:30, I was behind on my spreadsheets for work  took my first call at 6 but hey, I'm not on the road so grateful for that.

Yes my daughter and I discussed the latest in the Caylee case last night, she was so worried she crawled into bed with me, but worried about posters even she has met backstabbing non stop. Son just called too, just to check on me. I'm lucky just as your mother is.

One has to wonder how Casey could have written what she did in her journal, talk about a black heart. The bigger issue is figuring out how this happens, how someone can throw away a precious child like so much garbage. We have more than enough problems in this world than to create more, right?
