Any possible link ?
I wish that we knew more of the details on the Briant Rodrguez kidnapping (hint, hint).  I'm just not seeing the simialrities in this and the walmart guy like I did with the sketches.

Northern Rose:  Noel Buchan is incarcarated.

Good searching Lovin.  Glad to know we can count him out.
You're the one that caught the corrilation with the burgandy truck!

I would be interested in seeing who he ran around with...and what they've been up to since 2/13/09 or before.

Canada needs to get the SO registers website like we have here!

I know Modesto is about 6 hours north, but this attempted kidnapping has not been solved yet.  Have police been given this?  It is easy to replace the pickup with a newer one.

WANTED FOR QUESTIONING

On Wednesday June 4, 2008 between 8-9am the Suspect (pictured at left) approached a 12 year old female elementary student on her way to school.  Drove up to the victim, grabbed her hair, and attempted to pull her into his vehicle.  The Victim fought off her attacker, and the suspect fled the scene in a older model mini truck extended cab, long bed, dark blue in color.  Suspect is described as a White or Hispanic male, in his 50's with dark brown or black thinning hair and a dark goatee.  Any information on this case please contact Modesto Police Detective Steven Stanfield @ 209-572-9538 or Crime Stoppers (24 hrs).

I am looking north for any crimes involving a maroon/burgandy pickup and have also found this one in Modesto:

BURGLARY

On 01/12/2008 around 12:01 am the business (Sears Roebuck) at 860 N. Yosemite Av in Oakdale was burglarized.  Two unknown males were captured on video during the crime.  Oakdale PD is attempting to locate and identify the person seen here.  The suspects' vehicle, an unknown model Burgundy Chevy or Ford truck, can be seen curbside in the background.

going back through some old articles I have not read.

snip

Saturday, Feb. 14: Amber's cell phone is turned on for less than 30 seconds and pings off a cell phone tower in North Escondido. Whoever turned it on tried to access voicemail but was unsuccessful because the password had already been reset.

"The person dialed #86 to attempt to reach voicemail, couldn't get through and then they turned off the phone immediately," Amber's father Maurice Dubois said.

Police flood the neighborhood near the cell phone tower with reverse 911 calls, but fail to locate Amber

now how can they not know which cell phone tower if they know which neighborhood it is? maybe I am confused about what they are actually meaning ?

This is about the attempted kidnap of a woman in Redondo beach mentioned by Ampersand..
I have done some research on this and the suspects in this case are also suspects in a murder of a 28 year old woman who worked in Redondo beach and her body was found in the san bernadino mountains..
Here are the various links I used to trace down this information..
My point is the distance the perp was willing to travel to dispose of a body..

Body found but no name yet..
http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2009/02/remains-found.html

Body identified..

Following up on Cori Desmond
Please read all user comments from people that knew her..
http://www.insidesocal.com/crime&courts/2009/02/following-up-on-Cori-Desmond.html

The possible perp/s  mentioned are the 2 characters in the white Chevy van with a sliding door who tried to abduct a woman on January 3 of 2009..
She did get away was was able to make a description of characters in a drawing..
See him at this link ..

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (KABC) -- The body of 28-year-old Cori Desmond from Torrance was found Monday in Running Springs. A day later, her car was found nearly 100 miles away in Redondo Beach.
Cori disappeared early Sunday morning. She had been out Saturday night, last seen at the BAC Street Lounge in Redondo Beach. She reportedly left the bar around 2:30 a.m. Sunday

Her dad speaks..

Very sad..

100 miles out..
100 miles out from Escondido is one very large area..

I pray that Amber is alive and found soon. Her mom is very amazing for all the places she has been to search for information and to put the word out on her daughter Amber.

Redondo Beach to the destination of running springs goes right through San Bernadino where the little 3 year old boy was kidnapped from.
1 hour and 30 minutes.
Then He/They returns her vehicle to Redondo beach.

Like He/They have business in San Bernadino and He/They reside in Redondo beach.

10 miles further then San Bernadino to Running Springs..

same guys ?
2 guys at the attempted abduction in redondo beach
and 2 guys at the kidnap of the boy..

I posed the question to the public library regarding ideas as to where to find certain info regarding the basements.  This nice library worker did some research.  Looks like that is not something that really is a possibility, but at lease we KNOW that now.

Dear Chi Chi,

It is highly unlikely that any houses on Paradise St or Fire Mountain have legal basements since the oldest house there was built in 1980.  I checked www.zillow.com - a real estate website - and using the aerial view there, few of the houses on the flat appear high enough to be anything more than slabs.  If you drive by it looking, note that it would take at least three front steps to raise it the 18 inches off the ground you'd need for a wooden floor above dirt or the 24 or so inches you'd need for a legal emergency exit.

Some psychotic person could still dig something like a bomb shelter under one of them, but the city would never be told about it.

So, that leaves the possibility of one of the homes on the south end where there's a slope.  Those were built pretty much since 2002 and again, that's an extremely unlikely feature to put into a home in Escondido.  What I do see are split level homes and it is possible that one of those has an upper wood floor that someone has crawled under and dug a hiding place.  Again, that would not be something you'd want to tell the city about or even a realtor since it would not be permitted.

If you're hearing a rumor though that there is a permitted basement on that street you can probably call the city to get better information.  I was able to pull up only 13 building permits through the City Clerk's Questys system.  Only 1822 was for a room addition and although it showed that the foundation was inspected, it did NOT say what type of foundation it had despite having a place to mark just that.  1815 and 1822 also had pool permits which would allow either homeowner to dispose of large amounts of dirt without drawing suspicion, but look at google earth, there are quite a few houses with pools so those building permits just are not accessible to me on this system.

Zillow also has a place to mark if a house has a basement and none of the places I checked that seemed likely to have them had basement checked.

Personally, I'd be surprised that if Amber walked to where she's held captive the police dogs wouldn't have found her, and Paradise St is so close to EHS I'm sure those houses were checked first.  I do hope they find her soon.

The white van ..

The only reason I did this research on Redondo beach is because the white van is mentioned in a attempted abduction in ESCANDIDO.
The girl ran to a school to get away..
Was it true or a lie ? Did it happen or did it not ? What school ? Did not happen to be the one on vista drive did it ?

Also, the cell phone being used, police searching for 911 calls..
Did they go door to door in the area of the cell phone, why is that area a secret? why was it not put in the news media so people that live in that area could think back early?
searchers needed to go door to door and hand out flyer's about the red/maroon truck in the area of the cell phone.
did anyone pass out flyer's ???

Also ... the white car.
This car is seen in the video that shows the red truck backing up and then going forward,
The person in the white car is your ONLY witness to the driver of the red truck...

Working with family members is a difficult thing as we have to be very careful what we say and how we say it. Hearts are involved and the utmost care must be taken into consideration when wording something.

I really do appreciate Ampersand and Amber's grandmother coming here to read our research.

Edward...I'm following your valid points clearly.   Since I'm geographically illiterate and from a different part of the US it is difficult for me sometimes to follow the corrilation, my burden to bear.  I still can't get over the similarities in the sketches.  Still too many unanswered questions, imo.  Keep it coming and don't worry about the errors, I don't even notice them.
