As far as searches go..

Searchers found a local girl in my area that went missing, Christina Williams in an area I had marked out as possible.. No Dogs, just people searching. 10 Years ago

In contrast
Searchers walked right past a ranger women who was murdered by the same man named Steiner that murdered the "Sund" Mom and daughter and there friend.. One of my associates was on that search, he could not believe they missed her body.. They had dogs..still missed her.

Put just a tiny pin mark on a map of Escondido and that is a search area for a fifty people for a day. How many pin marks does it take to fill a map..?

Or, take a local map of Escondido ..with a marker, mark out every place she would NOT be.. school grounds ..downtown.. housing areas.. open parking, open fields and leave only the possible search areas.
Then put a tiny pin spot on one of the areas left open, it would still take years to search all the possible areas.

I was 2 mountain tops away from where Steve faucet was found and I may as well been a million miles away, but on any California map I look like I was really close. Other searchers were down near Mohave searching ..
A lone hiker found Steve and his plane.

I am just trying to narrow the search areas down to a more logical area.. One of my concerns is this..The cell phone the next day, they kept her alive and then took off .. San Bernadino seems to be a spot these 2 males liked.. but then after that if they drove off to Reno for other business and took Amber with them.. The search area becomes huge..

We searched for people off of 395 before. If you think searching Escondido seems overwhelming , well 395 is very overwhelming..
The desert floor through Victorville all the way to Reno is a hard search..

"Anywhere" like one search team leader suggested is just not acceptable to me.. The search area has to be narrowed down to Logic.

Most of the time average people stumble across bodies while out walking around..
Sad but true.

Horses are great for live and lost missing people ..They make noise..You sit high, searchers are very visible and you can move fast and conserve human energy in-case you have to work to save a person. as well as horses offer transportation for a live hurt victim if needed.

Can somebody with some talent put a couple of google map images up for us..

1. use Redondo Beach to Running Springs ..

2.  Escondido to Reno via 15 through San Bernadino through Victorville across the desert floor and up through highway 395 to Carson city and into Reno.

3. one more from Reno down through Auburn Ca. come down freeway 5 all the way to what ever direct method to the border and into Mexicali.

One of these days I will figure out how to do this..
Google does not cooperate with me..

Thank You

Edward..Sounds like you are a very experienced and well trained searcher.  My hat's off to you.  Guess I just think the chances of foot searchers finding an alive Amber out in the wild country are very slim, and slimmer for a body.  Because we cannot know her situation, I think they should  search places for her alive.   I really do think she may be alive and held by someone in or near Escondido.

This situation is a little different in that no one witnessed an abduction and there is no known crime scene.   The abductor could be family acquaintance, and if so may be volunteering or otherwise insinuated into the search.   Of course I hope not, but there is no way to know.  I only trust that family has considered that possibility, unpleasant though it is.

By the way I love horses and riding.   Not so fond of horses on mtn trails.   Also, then I'd have to worry about the horses too?

Let's keep thinking.  Bring Amber home alive!

Chi Monkey
If Amber is alive we need Amber to help us find Amber.. mo.
If you are correct on the thought that somebody familiar with the family has her.

The other day a pizza delivery guy saved a woman who had been kidnapped by a man who knew her..
The culprit ordered pizza and the woman waved her hands in the background showing the pizza delivery guy her tied up hands.. He left and called the police..

Amber's family has had the water meter readers and the electric company as well as the post office people keeping there eyes open..

Somebody mentioned her taken to Mexico.. It may not be a case of human trafficking..
If so she could be alive living on some out of the way ranch .. taken as wife.
A 14 year old as wife would not be uncommon in Mexico as a young virgin is a desired item by south of the border males from Mexico to Argentina.. It is a belief system.. driven by religious beliefs.
Fair skinned Mexicans are very common in mexico and fair skin is sign of higher class.  Redheads are also common in Mexico. She would not look out of place except for her ability to communicate. Does she speak fluent Spanish ? there are many dialects of Spanish spoken in Mexico.. Spanish at one end of Mexico is not the same Spanish as spoken at the other.
I traveled in Mexico for years..

Thanks for giving the maps a try..

If we are looking at all types of crime in and around Escondido, I thought this may help. This teenage boy might have been killed because he knew information. He was a reformed gang member. His death was a little over a week from the date Amber went missing.

Escondido Family Creates Website to Catch Teen's Killer

ESCONDIDO - The family of a slain Escondido teenager has launched a Web site to help find his killer, it was reported Wednesday.

Julian Rodriguez, 17, was fatally stabbed at a party on Felicita Avenue in Escondido on Feb. 22. His family recently launched www.findjulianskiller.com to help find his killer, The North County Times reported.

Visitors to the Web site can view pictures of Rodriguez, share their memories of him and leave anonymous tips about what happened the night he died. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Rodriguez's killer, according to the Web site.

Two days before his death, Rodriguez, a reformed gang member, championed education as an alternative to gangs at a conference for high school students at Cal State San Marcos.

"It was just devastating," Arcela Nunez-Alvarez, faculty adviser for the MEChA High School conference held Feb. 20 at the university, told the Times. "It was so ironic, this turn of events for this kid who had just made such a moving presentation."

Rodriguez told students at the conference that he realized education was important after he and his family moved to Riverside County and away from his gang ties in San Marcos about two years ago, the Times reported.

His father, Raul Rodriguez, told the newspaper he's heard his son had been at the party for only about 10 minutes and was calling to be picked up because he didn't like the crowd he saw there when the stabbing occurred.

Escondido police Det. Greg Gaye told the Times that as many as 50 people were at the party but most seem reluctant to talk.

There appears to be a gang element to the killing but it's unclear how significant it was, Gaye told the newspaper.

THEY wont stand up..
ALL of them are living in the GANG mindset, it is generational.
Anyone who talks is considered a snitch, like in prison and somebody will kill them for speaking up.

Thank you so much for posting this article ctmacla.

There has been the thought ever since the teens stabbed a girl in her home that Amber may have been a victim of a GANG.
Girls of these gangs are just as dangerous as the boys..
If Amber upset one of them she very well could have been targeted.
Nobody would ever say a word if that did in fact happen.

Agreed.  These teen girls are frightening.  No sense, no conscience and no respect for anything or anyone.  Not necessarily even gangs if you remember in Texas the teens headed for Air Force Acad. and West Point who killed a classmate.  Just crazy.

I include Auburn because of the comparison of photos/sketches done by members of scared monkeys that appear to match the f.b.i. photos of wanted men in the abduction of the 3 year old boy.
The auburn incident was an attempted kidnap..witness gave information that developed the sketch and it was a red 4 door pick up..

Also if it is considered that his Auburn incident happens after the disappearance of Amber then the route would go through san bernadio and to stay off the main highway system they would or could go through victorville and up 395 all the way into Reno before coming back down through Auburn and high tailing it on 5 all the way down to the border where they are now feeling safe as the boy was released..
I wonder if the boy knows anything because it appears they had him or possibly left him at a safe house..possibly north of Escondido.. ?? Farm worker or drug related people ??

I hope that boy is being protected..

Edward these sketches are so similar it is scary. I can see if one matched but both do which really narrows it down in my opinion.

California man pleads guilty for downloading child porn over Boise hotel network
BY PATRICK ORR - porr@idahostatesman.com
Published: 06/09/09

Dale Gilbert, 60, will spend the next decade on probation and register as a sex offender for life.

He was originally charged with nine counts of sexual exploitation of a child when he was arrested in October, but seven of those charges were dropped Tuesday as part of a plea agreement with Ada County prosecutors.

Prosecutors are recommending a suspended 10-year prison sentence, where Gilbert will have to undergo sex offender treatment, and can ask for him to have to spend up to 180 days in jail.

Fourth District Judge Ronald Wilper will sentence Gilbert on Aug. 4.

Boise police began investigating Gilbert, an Escondido, Calif., resident who was working in Boise working as a contractor for Idaho Department of Correction, in June 2008 after being contacted by hotel management. A guest staying at the same Boise hotel on Vista Avenue logged into the wireless Internet system and noticed an open public folder in iTunes.

But the guest didn't discover music they could listen to for free, a feature available in the popular music library program. Instead, the guest discovered someone downloading child pornography, according to Boise police reports.

After noticing the pornography, the guest called hotel management. Hotel officials called police.

Officers served a search warrant and found the computer in Gilbert's room in the process of downloading additional child porn images, Boise Police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said.

Gilbert's computer was seized at that time, but he was not arrested until September.

It took investigators several months to complete a forensic analysis of the computer and the files, Ada County Deputy Prosecutor Shelley Armstrong said.

Investigators found numerous illegal images with confirmed underage victims.

Gilbert admitted Tuesday to downloading two child pornography movies to his computer on June 8, 2008, at the Boise-area hotel.

Gilbert’s attorney Jon Cox told Wilper Tuesday a psychosexual evaluation done for Gilbert showed he was at a low risk to reoffend.

This was a small article in another news article about a fire that was posted 2:00 a.m. June 9, 2009.

Man with knife abducts, sexually assaults teen

NORTH PARK: A teenager said she was sexually assaulted yesterday by a man armed with a knife who forced her into a car.

The 15-year-old girl was leaving her apartment and walking through a parking lot when a man in a red or maroon car approached her on El Cajon Boulevard at Iowa Street about 11:30 a.m., San Diego police said.

The man told her to get in, and the girl said no. Police said she tried to get back into the apartment complex but was unable to get in through the gate. She walked away from her home because she didn't want the man to know where she lives, police said.

She told police the man continued to follow her. He then got out of his car, threatened her with a knife and ordered her into the car, police said.

He drove a few miles to an alley near Nile and Redwood streets, where he sexually assaulted her, police said.

The man then released the girl, who reported the assault to officers.

She described the man as Latino, 20 to 25 years old, about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build and short brown hair, and he possibly has a goatee. He wore a green T-shirt and jeans.

Police said he drove a four-door sedan, possibly a 1990s model.

san diego forum.. Quotes from people in that area.
"That would be City Heights, one of the worst areas of San Diego. Go north on 35th a bit and it becomes Normal Heights, a trendy, fun, up-and-coming type urban neighborhood, but anywhere around the boulevard itself and South is City Heights, and is best avoided to live in if possible. El Cajon boulevard itself is pretty sleazy, especially thru the City Heights Corridor - prostitutes, folks standing around looking tough and the like. There are pockets of City Heights that aren't as terrible as others, but you have to take the bad with the good in City Heights as they're right next to each other, and know that the bad areas are quite rough. Most of the big box stores are off the boulevard in Mission Valley, which is surprisingly accessible despite the mesa cliffs via Texas Street."

"That part of City Heights (Teralta) is mostly Hispanic. There is a lot of crime there, in particular gang crime. There are a lot of good ethnic and funky restaurants all over City Heights ranging from Vietnamese on the east side and Mexican on the west side. I just served on jury for a rape/kidnap case of a prostitute that happened on 34th and El Cajon Boulevard. Generally, stay west of the 805 into North Park or go all the way east of 54th street towards the SDSU and La Mesa area where things get better. Alternatively stay North of El Cajon Boulevard, the further north the better."
