They hardly need an ROV in 90 feet of water    Wonder if Caps is still relaying messages to Lala's and others?  Seems like things have been quiet on that front.

Seriously...If they think they found targets and they have not found Natalee, then why have they not sent just some plain old fashioned scuba divers, to check the targets?

The Coast Guard should have called on CAPS.  He knows all and ... can do all.

Another thing , I went to dive a week a go to the same location, and the Cage is still there. If the cage was evidance in a murder case, why is it still in the water.

KYLE KINGMAN - IN HIS OWN WORDS

Kyle Kingman:
After the Jan 7th Dive I got off the boat for R&R from the 9th-14th at the Holiday Inn.

Meanwhile I'm standing on the beach watching the Dutch Coast Guard at the trap site for 42 and 45 minutes respectively over two days (11-12th). When I got back to the Hotel on the 11th and 12th after seeing the coasties out there I told John [Silvetti]. He didn't want to hear it and didn't believe it. However, a couple weeks later he told me he looked into it by talking to Richardson who said "...not to worry, the Coast Guard doesn't have dive capabilities".

Those 100 or so targets....were they farther out per Richardson's prompting?   Weren't they mentioned just before they ended the search?  Just thinking about Buckeye's post about the need for a ROV for dives.

I have a couple of threads to read since our return late last night.  With loads of laundry in the mix, it may take me some time to catch up here.  Good to be back, but that's an OT story I may have to post in Musings or the Lounge.

Texasmom, I saw that you spotted me last night!

Buckeye ... immediately following the December 30, 2007 Dateline dive ... Tim Miller presence on the Persistence was no more and ... John Silvetti took full control of the search and instructed the search to be conducted in "deeper" waters.

Thanks to Kyle Kingman ... Tamikosmom no longer has to speculate.

KYLE KINGMAN - IN HIS OWN WORDS

Kyle Kingman:
I hadn't slept in 48 hours. I crashed for a few hours rest and by the time I got up Dateline and Tim Miller had left the boat. That is when John [Silvetti] assumed full control over the remainder of the project and had us searching in the deepest portions of our search area which coincided with Richardson's remarks. Richardson told us after the Jan-7th dive to keep searching in deep water.

Kyle Kingman: We're being fed misinformation to keep us searching and out of their way while they cover their asses, destroy evidence, cover their tracks, and keep us out at sea and away from the trap.

I still think that if you have the location, someone can dive it.  They would need a diver with or without anything else.  There are scuba divers that dive deep.

That is a bit of my point.  If these targets are possibly Natalee, why have divers not been sent?  Either they know the targets can't be Natalee, because she has possibly been located, or the "targets" are something else.  I see no reason that a diver has not checked a target, if the target was/is legit.

NOTHING...That's quite LOGICAL Buckeye.Like you said. The other targets either have nothing to do with Natalee, and or they truly believe she was in the cage! After reading about Schaefer had his BIG RIP-OFF of stockholders,i believe that he has LOT'S of $$$$$$$$$$$ to send the diver's down to those target's..Why would you wait in excess of another 2 years to dive on those target's??Some thing's just aren't logical!!

The goal had to have been something other than locating Natalee or divers would be diving on the targets.  They either found her, already, or the whole mapping was for some other reason...or divers would be looking at those targets..IMO

EXACTLEY..Them not having enough money for the search was a line of B.S. in my opinion.Do you only take one diver down there, and only for one physical dive??I would really be curious to know when Trahan flew down there,as well as when he VANISHED?Was he flown down simply for the THUMBS DOWN??How much time did actual divers spend on the boat and diving on any targets??

I agree.  I also can't help but believe that if the original mission was "JUST ABOUT NATALEE"; that there were those who would have provided any additional funding needed while the Persistence was still there.  It didn't make sense to me then why the funding didn't come.  It is all too clear now.
