Hearing May Reveal Source Of Defense Team Funding

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony's attorney Jose Baez is expected to respond to questions, Tuesday, regarding where his team of high profile attorneys is getting the money to defend their client.

Prosecutors requested a special hearing to find out where the money is coming from, and they have several money-related questions for Anthony's lead defense attorney.

Prosecutors want Judge Stan Strickland to find out what financial agreements are behind the hiring of high profile, nationally known defense expert Linda Kenney Baden and pathologist Henry Lee.

The state filed a motion, Monday afternoon, saying eight different lawyers and numerous experts have been hired by Casey Anthony. The motion outlines exactly what prosecutors are hoping the judge will find out. Where is the money coming from?

There is a concern that Baez is managing her only assets, which include photos and videos of Caylee, for the wrong reasons.

Prosecutors are worried Anthony could ask for a new trial, arguing that Baez steered her in the wrong direction for the wrong reasons.

Last summer, profits from the sale of home videos of Caylee brought in almost $200,000.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Prosecutors in the Casey Anthony murder case filed a motion on Monday seeking to find out how the 22-year-old "went from a pauper to a princess."

Anthony, 22, remains jailed on first-degree murder charges in the death of her daughter, Caylee, whose remains were found in a wooded lot in December.

The state said in the filing that when Anthony was arrested, she and her parents did not have a lot of money.

Since then, Anthony's defense team has secured eight attorneys and numerous experts. The state wants the court to investigate whether lead attorney Jose Baez may have a conflict of interest if he is also handling Anthony's finances.

Baez also filed a motion on Monday, serving notice that he will depose the Orange County sheriff's deputy who in August was called to the area where Caylee's remains were discovered in December.

The sheriff's office is conducting an internal investigation into whether the deputy did his job thoroughly.

Wonder what Casey Ho does all day all alone in that jail cell...? does she get to have a tv in her cell? I know that she has a radio...but wouldn't you go stark raving mad just by yourself all the time? not that I care one wit what happens to Casey Ho....just wondering...it would drive me nuts and the time would go so slowly...but at least she has the time...more than what Caylee has now isn't it...maybe she is writing her memoirs so that Baez can sell it for a movie and book deal...

My previous husband passed away this month will be 14yrs ago.I get "crazy as a cut snake" as Lucinda says. 
Back on topic.So we still have court this week?I hope we get some more documents soon.
It really makes me mad that Casey can buy makeup in jail.

I know, Cookie.   If I wasn't already nuts, I'd be nuts within 3 months if I were in jail.   She doesn't have a tv - only that radio she purchased from the commissary.   That's probably why she looked so upset when they set the trial for October.  She probably thought the trial would be sooner - and she'd be free.    Little does she know - her azz is staying there for good!   I hope she's enjoying her "beautiful life".

you are right..she probably does think that she will go free after her trial..also, she may have been disappointed that her trial won't be until October cause she loves being in front of that camera!

The weather has been nice for yard work, though.   I have to take two cats in to the Vet today (Sassy included - she has a tumor growing on her ear - the other cat has developed an upper respiratory infection) so I won't be around much today.

Court is set for Thursday, not sure what time.   I hope they get to the bottom of who is paying for that biotch's defense.

BTW - I love Lucinda's little sayings...  makes me smile!
