Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez gleefully declared Friday that President Obama may have no choice but to turn to socialism because capitalism in America has "failed."

FOXNews.com

In a plea evoking Darth Vader's attempt to turn Luke Skywalker to the dark side, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Friday urged President Obama to join the socialist movement.

"I recommend to Obama -- they're criticizing him because they say he's moving towards socialism -- come Obama, ally with us on the path to socialism, it's the only road," he said on Venezuelan state television, according to a Bloomberg report.

"Imagine a socialist revolution in the U.S. Nothing is impossible," he added.

Obama's $787 billion stimulus package and his talk of addressing income inequalities through government policies have drawn accusations that he favors a wealth redistribution plan that would replace the free markets with socialism.

But Obama has said he has no intention of eliminating capitalism; he is simply trying to fix the economic crisis with a long-term view by reforming education, energy and health care.

As for Chavez, he gleefully declared in his speech Friday that capitalism in America has failed.

I see the resemblance

Bottom line is Obama is on his own path to sink the united states into a socialist society.

A definition of socialism -
Quote
a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.
&
Quote
(in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.

Do we have socialism or social justice and redistribution of wealth going on?

The current systems reminds me of families I've know over the years.  Some parents make an effort to give everyone the same opportunities and access to tools for success.  For some, it's after school activities, funding for education, and an allowance.

There are any number of problems.  In large families, sometimes there are children that are different.  Some are really good savers.  Some are good spenders.  Some are happy with an average pair of shoes, some would choose the expensive name dropper shoes.  Some have physical and mental disabilities that will forever keep them from taking advantage of all the parent has to offer.

So, does the parent make sure that the one that doesn't save gets a little extra?  Does the parent force the non-saver to save, and does it every work?  Does the parent give the non-saver access to the savings of the saver?  Help level the playing field of the future between the saver and the spender?  Should this continue in adulthood?

When should these children reap the rewards of what they sow? Should the parent continue to give in an equal fashion, or an unequal fashion.  Who decides on the distribution?  Should the spender be responsible for their retirement, or should the one with savings subsidize everyone without?

Heartfelt giving, is not the same as government digging into your pocket and taking, or someone breaking into your house and stealing the fruits of your labor or thrift.

The Definition of Socialism
[1] Socialism, like libertarianism, is an exceedingly vague ideology. The definition of socialism is founded on two fundamental maxims: Thomas Jefferson's, "All men are created equal," and Karl Marx's "From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs."1 Problematically, socialists offer few practical details about how these two principles are to be realized.
