Here's some interesting news:

John goes to Aruba on Wednesday.

For the record... June 6, 2008, right?     Someone has a list, checking it twice.

Thanks 2NJ!  I was just gonna ask...

Yes, it will! I am pretty much strongly leaning to the new "cargo port" as the "link" instead of an "oil exploration/pipeline" one! (I can't rule out either, though)

No one drained that "pond" as it is not really even a pond but a storm sewer!

It just dries up like that when there is no rainfall.  All locals would know this, too.  Not a good place to hide anything.

.

Right!

I do believe it was CAPS who was telling SM that the pond was drained/was being drained.

Kyle was hearing that from someone as well - with contradictory (and correct) information from Silvetti.

Although - it appears Kyle was only hearing portions of the correct information from Silvetti.

He was and you can imagine how my posts stating it just dired up were received at the time!  Of course, I had to be the biggest of liars so as to discredit me and support a couple of favorite theories held by some.

But that did not change the facts of the matter that it just dries up and often, too, so why would any local use it for hiding I don't understand.

Also by Silvetti saying a search was being done by "others" do you suppose he was just going to take the word of those searching for Jose Tromp that there was nothing there and never really planned to do a search of his own?

That's confusing.

Wreck, You are correct that there is no death penalty under Dutch law.  I think that is pretty well true of the whole EU.  And last I heard the Dutch have in custody a suspect in 9/11 which they refuse to extradite to the U.S. because they don't respect our system and will not extradite someone who may face the death penalty.  So much for treaties and agreements.

You know, back a few months ago when Kyle came on here and stated that there was no way they were mapping for a "pipeline" -- he may have been telling the truth after all. They were mapping for the new cargo harbor!

I agree - no local (Paulus) would be stupid enough to put anything in that pond - knowing it dries up regularly.

It was dry twice between June 2005 and Feb 2008 (that we know of).

I personally feel that Silvetti was at that pond at that time.  To actually search it?  Probably not.  The "by others" he told Kyle about, IMO, was likely himself.  And maybe a Monkey and his "witness"?

There are so many advantages to them being down there!Oil,Port,Start a offshore business, closer to South America for both Silvetti and Schaefer to do business....All they had to do was have an appropriate PROTOCOL set up for the exact reason we're even discussing the cage/trap..That simple fact drives me crazy.Go down there without an American FBI,CIA,NSA operative..Very simple if you ask me.

You can sell a map over and over again.  I was shocked at the amount companies are paying just for the bid specs, which has to include the mapping data - that's a lucrative business right there.

Well, we know John Silvetti found a need to open an office according to Kyle when that was never stated originally.

With all the huge and lucrative contracts being awarded all over the place, I would think any company worth anything could surely find any number of jobs to do.

And of course a harbor is going to be on the outward side of the island, etc. Ease of docking and all that.  Aruba alone had that plus the pipeline for natural gas by itself.

OK - so for the hotels/resort part of the new harbour, we know that the bribery took place between Oduber/Breisen and this company:

ORANJESTAD, ARUBA-- A joint venture by Sol Meliá and Spanish developer Grupo Trusam to develop a luxury resort has been approved by the government of Aruba. The project will include a Meliá hotel, a casino, a spa, a beach club, several restaurants and other luxury services on the land occupied by the old Hotel Bushiri, which will become the new center of Oranjestad, the capital of Aruba.
http://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-162287449.html

So......................did those two "award" the port itself at that time also?  And the MTBS conducting a "public tender" that has not been quite so public is just an eye wash?
