Year of Karma ~ 2009

« on: March 09, 2009, 05:26:08 PM »

I Know that there is a Cage for Food and Other Recalls - But this is WAY over Due and Finally A CARE of Corporations to stop producing/selling Baby Bottles and  - and it is NEWS.

I watched almost a Year ago on CSPAN - Live on TV I watched It.
the Head of the FDA mute with no real answers and exclaimed that there were No Real issues with the findings from Medical Doctors, Scientists ...etc that it is Proven Medically that BPA has an effect on our Infants via transmission using certain plastic baby bottles and storage containers. Once heated the Plastic "the chemicals within" becomes unstable and toxic and then enter our Babies bodies. The Head of the FDA even when challanged by a Female Senator he had no real qualms not cares and offered a shrug .. within Her facts she stated to him. It bothered me greatly and his responses were if anything - Nothing.  Because the FDA does Not CARE .............
I am sure his worry at the time of this Inquiry of the Effects of BPA were to be all of the lawsuits from the mass distributors who produce Baby Bottles of this poison in the USA - if He were to STATE YES I agree these Bottles are TOXIC.

AS Of Today 6 major Manufacture's of these BOTTLES have Pulled them - that are created with BPA ! Someone has a Conscience !  maybe

WE Need though for our FDA in the USA to go a further in Progress and Ban it all together.

Six major U.S. baby products manufacturers agreed to remove the toxic chemical bisphenol-A (BPA) from baby bottles, in an agreement reached with the Connecticut Attorney General.

Said Environmental Working Group, the non-profit research institute that's been advocating BPA-free products, "The action represents a critical breakthrough in protecting infants from the hazards of the synthetic estrogen and plastics component, which leaches easily into formula and food from BPA-laden food packaging.

"The industry agreement effectively recognizes that BPA is too dangerous for infants."

At least as far as baby bottles are concerned. Says EWG, "there is much more to be done. Other states and the federal government must take additional steps to see that this toxic hormone disruptor is removed not only from plastic baby bottles, but from the linings of cans for infant formula and other foods and from other sources of exposure such as sippy cups and bottled water bottles."

“Today’s deal underscores the need for the Congress and the Obama administration to overhaul federal chemicals policy to protect infants and children from exposures to toxic chemicals,” said Environmental Working Group (EWG) Executive Director Richard Wiles.

“When the public is forced to rely on state actions to achieve nationwide protections, we know the federal system is broken,” Wiles said.

In their news release, EWG reports that U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) will soon re-introduce The Kid-Safe Chemicals Act in the Senate, with companion legislation to be offered in the House, according to California Congressman Henry Waxman (D). The legislation proposes a major overhaul of federal toxics chemical law, requiring that manufacturers demonstrate that chemicals are safe for infants and children before they enter the market.

Don't Want BPA Leaching into Your Baby's Lunch? Look for These BPA-Free Bottles.
Plastic baby bottles have received extra attention recently as research came to light showing many popular models leach Bisphenol-A (BPA), a suspected endocrine disruptor. The plastic of concern, polycarbonate (plastic #7), is used by several manufacturers, but there are safe alternatives. Glass, polypropylene (PP or plastic #5), and other materials are easily found on the market.

The One Alternative to RID the BPA period from your Baby's life is to Use GLASS bottles but then you have to wonder in Today's world what is the Nipple made of and where was it manufactured.

Look at the Products You Purchase As Well for babies, Your Own child, For Gifts for others,  - If it say's its Made In China - even if it is SO Cute with Artwork and Inexpensive and it is to enter a child's mouth or be worn on its body - Don't Buy it.

Use Glass Bottles Dolce - that is 100 percent SAFE - always

It may be inconvenient - Babies have to be a certain age obvious before they are strong enough to hold a glass bottle.
They did mention SAFE Plastic Bottles in the one article  - Here are Two articles for you to read
