Father of Missing Haleigh Cummings Weds, Slams Media Focus

The father of missing Florida girl Haleigh Cummings claimed he doesn't want the media to focus on his personal life — a day after getting married and flying to New York to appear on national TV.

Ronald Cummings, 25, and his new bride, 17-year-old Misty Croslin, appeared on NBC's "Today Show" Friday morning. They got married Thursday in Putnam County, Fla. then flew to New York.

Cummings said he didn't know what his personal life had to do with national television, and stressed that the media needs to get his daughter's face out there.

Haleigh vanished Feb. 9 from her father's mobile home, just outside the community of Satsuma. The 5-year-old was being watched by Misty Croslin.

When asked if she thought police considered her a possible suspect, Croslin said no. Cummings immediately agreed, saying a detective told him she wasn't.

About 100 deputies from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and nearby law enforcement agencies began searching a new area for the girl Thursday along U.S. 17, examining the area 30 yards from each side.

Sheriff's Capt. Dick Schauland said there is no new information — just more ground to cover.

Police deny the new search is linked to any new tips.

Luvmyboys -- I saw what you posted and also saw you had stepped out.  I went to find the link to post while you were out because I too had seen what you posted at nykatie's site on myspace.  When I went there it was gone.  Weird thing is that I read what you had posted only a few hours ago.  I just commented on the fact that I had seen it too but appears to be gone, at least for now. 

I think I caused the confusion and I am sorry if I did.  I will go back to lurking.

Here is what I remember -- according to NYKatie, Wayanne claims that NYKatie has been stalking her for months, which according to NYKatie is not true.  NYKatie contacted the attorney for Haleigh's mother and told her about it her history with Wayanne.  She posted an alleged email from the attorney.  I do recall that the youtube posts from Wayanne I found really strange.  That is about all that I remember.  But, the post from Luvmyboys was from NYKatie's site earlier today.

Island....to say that you didn't feel like getting out of bed to take your sick kid to the doctor sounds lazy and selfish to me....
at the time that she didn't feel like getting out of bed, Haleigh was living with her right? so how could ron have been abusing her at that time so that she didn't feel like getting out of bed to take Haleigh to the doctor? it was her responsibility as the custodial parent to make sure that this little child get the childcare they she required...jmo..

Yeah, he sure is throwing that statement in at some odd times.

It sounded to me that the interviewer indicated in her question that Junior said that to Misty on the night of the abduction.  And if Ron understood it that way too, he was not there.  He was at work.  JMO of how it could have happened.
