Ground search for Haleigh Cummings continues

About 100 deputies are conducting a ground search north of Crescent City today as part of the ongoing search for 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings.

Deputies are not scouring the area because of any new tips received. They want to search the location to be sure that all areas have been covered, according to a news release from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said.

Putnam County deputies and law-enforcement from other agencies will search along U.S. Highway 17, from Buffalo Bluff Road to Paradise Shores Road.

Deputies will search the highway and about 30 yards off each side of the road.

Thanks for that I kept wondering about ground searches.

Not buying the red portion~they already said they weren't going to do any more searches unless they were from tips........ and IIRC it's about 9.4 miles from the trailer, so well outside the 5 mile radius

Another question; Does anyone think that with the DNA taken from more friends and family last week and now the door taken that just maybe we have some unknown transfer DNA on that door?

About 100 law enforcement officials from nine different agencies began walking along a 12-mile stretch of U.S. Highway 17 just north of Crescent City this morning, searching for any clues regarding the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings.

Meanwhile, WESH.com is reporting that Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, will marry his 17-year-old girlfriend, Misty Croslin, at 4 p.m. today.



The 5-year-old girl was last seen by her father's girlfriend, Misty Croslin, 17, at about 10 p.m. Feb. 9. Misty told investigators she woke up about 3:30 a.m. Feb. 10 and Haleigh was missing.


In today's search, investigators are slowly walking along the grassy area about 30 yards off each side of the highway between Buffalo Bluff Road and Paradise Shores Road just north of Crescent City, according to Putnam Sheriff's Lt. Johnny Greenwood.

Greenwood said the search is not being conducted because of any new tips or leads in connection to Haleigh's disappearance.

"We're not looking for anything specific. We're just looking," Greenwood said. "It's just part of the process."

U.S. 17, a two-lane road, is open to traffic during the search.

Besides the Putnam County Sheriff's Office, other agencies involved include deputy sheriffs from St. Johns County, Clay County, Marion County, and officials with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Academy, U.S. Coast Guard, Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, and the Bradford County Horse Posse.

Makes one wonder....they released the trailer, then the came back and removed the DOOR...and now the search nearby.  Why would they not have completed this area of search prior to now??? Has been 31 days.

Well, IF that were to happen, I would def think this was staged.

Can you just picture HL showing up alive, all the sudden appears at the wedding, something akin to right out of "The Graduate".

I can't find where Buffalo Bluff and Paradise Shores intersect, I'm curious if this is area is on anyone's specific route anywhere.....

I sooo think this abduction was staged to set the ground work for Crystal to get custody.. I think Wyks is right...

Am bringing over my theory from the last thread, in case someone wants to see it again:

I mentioned earlier in this case that one of my theories *could possibly be*:

Haleigh 'abducted', time goes by, everyone searching, tracking down leads.
Biomom Crystal files for custody of Jr, citing something like she didn't want the same to happen to Jr.
Court might just rule in her favor, placing Jr in her custody.
Time goes by, to everyone's amazement, Haleigh is dropped off, alive and well, at a safe haven in Somewhere, USA.
Crystal gets custody of Haleigh as well.

We've been hearing for a few days the rumors that Crystal is supposedly trying for custody.
Ron/Misty supposedly *suddenly* decide to marry, and quickly at that.  (I wondered the other day if it were possible that Ron is doing this so that he can say to the judge that HE is married, while in the meantime, Crystal supposedly cannot marry her fiance until his divorce is final.  Which would look better to the judge?  A married father or an unmarried mother?)
Crystal has hired an attorney, which by the way, handles custody cases.

Soooooo... let's just see if what happens after Ron's marriage is that Crystal files for custody of Jr and gets it.  Then Haleigh may just show up, alive and unharmed, Crystal gets custody of Haleigh, and they all live happily ever after.

 

I am leaning towards this scenario also, especially with Marie's repeatedly stating that she thought Haleigh was in Alabama (IIRC) Why would she say this? Was it a slip, or was it something she knew? That has always bothered me.
