Are teachers in FL mandatory reporters?

IIRC, someone in the last thread said they are.  Could be diff from state to state, but am thinking that any resp. person in a position of authority, are mandated reporters.

My SIL is an elementry school teacher, 1st grade, and according to her if a teach sees bruising, scrapes, cuts, or abrasions of any kind on a child, even if they suspect it from a fall, they are to take the child aside and ask what happened purely for discovery type purposes, they are to report any and all unusual marks on a child for investigation to the school administration who furthers the discovery or denies the need.  NOW, she did say that was a rule for Florida School Teachers, not sure for other states, and I am not sure if that is just for elementry school or if it carries through all grade levels.  She is now teaching at a private Catholic school this year, and the rules in regards to this and some other things are held to an even high standard.

i came back from grocery shopping and I was lost in the other thread ..

But I do find it very errie and strange  that sex offender Snodgrass want to donate..

Tuesday Regan told First Coast News, "This gentleman pulled in here and said, 'I don't want any recognition. I don't want anyone to know my name. I heard you need office supplies for the foundation for Haleigh.'"

Regan said the man told him he had furniture at his house he would donate.

Then Regan said he heard the man mention his name to a reporter from Orlando.

"The reporter asked the man his name and he said, 'Snodgrass. Daniel Snodgrass.' A nd that name went BING in my head," Regan told First Coast News.

Daniel Snodgrass was arrested in 2007 on two charges. One was sexual battery on a child as well as a lewd and lascivious charge involving a child.

ITA.. What the heck was he thinking of.. No SO should be allowed near there. I hope the police are watching the area and the charity place...

Jersey, when I read that article and read the name Daniel Snodgrass .. I had a terrible feeling in my stomach. Had read that name before in this case, and it wasn't on a good note. I have not had time to go back into my notes about him yet. But I will as soon as I get a moment.

In Canada?

Yes, she said, for legal reasons to protect the identity of callers.

"We use a Canadian call center because the tipster information and their phone number can never be subpoenaed," DeWees said. "All of our calls are 800 numbers that are forwarded to the Canadian call center."

Haleigh, a 5-year-old girl, was reported missing from her home in Satsuma on Feb. 10. No sign of the kindergartner has been seen since, despite a massive search of South Putnam County and an intensive criminal investigation involving local, state and federal authorities.

No suspects have been named in the case and no arrests have been made.

Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida began accepting calls in the Haleigh case after the large volume overwhelmed the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.

And the large number of calls meant Crime Stoppers' monthly bill went up. A normal month costs the program $1,600, but the phone bill for February topped $5,000, DeWees said.

Many, many organizations and companies in the USA use Canadian call centers. Not unusual at all. If that is what you are wondering.
