Bump from earlier
ok, heading off to a meeting, ttyl monkey friends!

found some stuff of interest -- maybe RE: snakes and human remains

http://www.enotes.com/forensic-science/animal-evidence

Forensic anthropologists are experts in determining the gender, race, and age of unrecognizable remains (usually by studying the bones) and in identifying what kind of animal activity was responsible by the destruction of those remains. Bodies of drowned individuals found on seashores or riverbanks can also display signs of animal activity, such as from crabs or fish.

Animal evidence in human remains has been systematically registered and studied since 1943, including the action of a variety of species, such as wild dogs, large cats, bears, cows, horses, poisonous snakes, marine animals, constricting snakes, rodents, birds, and domestic dogs. The types of injuries and typical feeding behaviors of various species are also well documented. One of the indications of animal scavenging on human remains involves bones or body parts that are scattered, such as a skull found some distance from the body, with teeth lost after death. This is common in bodies left on the surface or buried on shallow graves in woods or country areas. Missing body parts or bones are often retrieved from dens of coyotes, foxes, or skunks along tracks and pathways used by these animals.

I agree there is a forensic reason - just why would KRONK think there was one on 8-11 if he didnt already think something was there? He said the guy would not go back there due to snakes, but he must have?

That's what has always irked me, why didnt they take it to LE if they thought it was evidentiary,  yup its got my hinky meter (pun intended)...O God this case!

Somehow I just broke out in dance....She's a cold hearted snake

Just got back so picking up where we left off, short & sweet O/T Just got back from docs - pleurisy

This clip is Lee's attorney Thomas Luka, in it he discusses with Kathi Belich that Lee & Dominic took Casey to the jail after an economic charge arrest (not the time they went to the house & she was in jail until bail was posted again...grrr) but this would be the second economic charges round & her new bond was not revoked, if memory serves.  That would have been 9/15   Not sure if this picture is of that date because it was reported that Dominic Casey visited Casey in jail at least twice.

Dom Casey visited her on 9/12 Capp
Hmmm tks BLINK!   That was before her 2nd economic charges then

Possible Conflict Of Interest Between Casey, Baez?
Tuesday, March 24, 2009 1:31:43 PM

ORLANDO -- A new hearing has been scheduled Wednesday in the Case Against Casey Anthony.

The prosecution wants to know if there is a conflict of interest between Casey and her defense attorney, Jose Baez.

The state has filed a motion to learn if Baez has made any deals that could be a conflict of interest in representing his client.

In a sworn affidavit, Anthony has said Baez has no right to sell her story, or that of her murdered 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

Baez has said he has no entertainment deals in the works related to the case.

Baez also has called the state's action a witch hunt.

In an official objection and motion to strike the state's conflict of interest motion, Baez says that the state filed the motion "possibly based on rumors of tabloid news broadcasts."

Prosecutors feared a deal could lead to a verdict being overturned on appeal.

Circuit Judge Stan Strickland will be presiding over the hearing, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. at the Orange County Courthouse. Stay with News 13 for LIVE coverage of the hearing when it happens.

Here's a brief timeline posted by Bay9 news

September
Sept. 23: 591 pages of files were released by the Orange County Sheriff's Office, including text messages, interviews with family and friends.

Sept. 16: Casey Anthony was taken before a judge and then released on $1,250 bond. She was, again, fitted with an ankle monitoring device.

Sept. 15: Casey Anthony turns herself in on new economic charges unrelated to Caylee's disappearance. The charges include uttering a forged instrument, petty theft and criminal use of personal information.

Sept. 7: Texas EquuSearch temporarily calls off the search for Caylee Anthony, citing environmental conditions and concerns.

Sept. 6: Orange County deputies retrieve a handgun from the trunk of George Anthony's car. Having a gun on the property is a violation of Casey's bail, but since it seems Casey was unaware of the gun, she is not taken back into custody.

Sept. 5: Casey Anthony is to be released from jail for a second time on bond. She will be required to wear an ankle monitoring device.

Sept. 4: An anonymous person posts the $500,000 bond for Casey Anthony through two Florida bonding companies.

Sept. 2: Casey Anthony refuses an offer of limited immunity in exchange for information leading to Caylee.

Casey Anthony case: WESH asks if Jose Baez brokered video sale

Casey Anthony's family says questions over how she's paying for her defense have been a distraction to her case, WESH-Channel 2 reported this afternoon.

"The defense needs to get on with defending their client," said Brad Conway, attorney for Anthony's parents. The money issue "takes away from everything that really needs to be done in order to defend her," he told WESH's Bob Kealing.

A hearing at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday will examine the funding controversy. Casey Anthony is charged with the first-degree murder of her daughter, Caylee. Prosecutors fear that if Jose Baez, Casey Anthony's attorney, has a conflict of interest on the money issue, that problem could pave the way for an appeal.

Baez would not comment, WESH said.

Kealing explored the money issue in a Monday report that explained that Anthony and Baez have a retainer agreement. In the WESH report, criminal defense expert Richard Hornsby wondered if Baez had brokered the sale of Anthony's home videos to pay for her defense. "If Jose Baez brokered that deal, he's part and parcel of the conflict that's clearly there," Hornsby told Kealing.

In other developments, two private eyes who worked for Casey's parents will give depositions tomorrow in Zenaida Gonzalez's defamation suit against Casey Anthony. Gonzalez said that her life was ruined when Anthony linked her to Caylee's disappearance.

Conway gets on my nerves.   He doesn't want anyone asking where the money is coming from for the defense because he's afraid he'll never get his cut, imo.    They all make me sick.

David Dean was working with Kronk on Aug.11, 2008 the day he first spotted the suspicious items on Suburban Drive. PG 2 http://www.wftv.com/_blank/18740699/detail.html

ASL Vincent & Det Melich sent to retrieve snake collected from area where remains were found from Mr. Dean on January 6, 2009. PG 3 http://www.wftv.com/blank/18974346/detail.html

Maybe Kronk & Dean split the $ for the picture?  Now why someone would keep a snake in the freezer for five months is beyond me, but I hope this clears up the confusion and also that there is some forensic evidence in the snake to convict the slore.
we have the pic of the snake?
There was a really bad photo copy of the pic in above link #2, Kronk had his pic on the today show, IIRC.  I'm going to take a look and see if I can find it.

According to what I am reading, she was found Aug.11th??

I found the one doc where Kronk first mentions the snake on one of his 911 calls:
http://www.docstoc.com/docs/4768151/3976-4026_redacted_kronk_statement

page 4005

also on page 4001 is a drawing of where the snake was in relation to the remains and where he went pee.

Something does not seem correct with all this.  So Kronk sees something in the area, but sees a dead snake on the road so goes no further to investigate in case there is a live snake in the woods   BUT him and his buddy pick up the snake put it in the back of a pick up, task pictures of it and then freeze it.  Then Kronk meets up with a Sheriff a few days later , shows him the picture on his cell phone of the snake they found and froze and then says the officer did not go in.

Then fast forward to Dec and his statement says he went in the woods where the snake was found to relive himself and found the remains  What happend to not wanting to go into the woods further in case there was a live snake?  Just seems odd that it is safe to go in there in Dec. to pee.
