What happened to putting his arm in the mud up to his elbows?  He is picking up stuff off the surface from what I can see.  I want to see him sticking his arms in mud ALL OVER that pond.  Imagine how long that will take.

The whole island is just a rock. There is only about 3-4" of silt in that pond anyways!

I left our little laughing girl ... along with the link ... on the other thread.  I am so neglectful.  Thank you for bringing her back to me last night.  I promise I will never let that happen again or ... you may have second thoughts about giving me joint custody.

Good morning Janet!  Don't worry, our little laughing girl has now won the hearts of many monkeys!  Even if we're not always watching over her; she is safe here in any of the cages of SM.  I only worry that she may be given too many bananas, she is so lovable everyone wants to hug her and give her bananas! 

You know what they say, it takes a village; (or a cage full of monkeys)!


   

Bananas are healthy.  Our little girl must feel the love in the cage ... I know I do.

Does anyone know what his success rate really is and does he just go where unreliable phantom witnesses take him?

He's been to Aruba 9 times now. So far he's 0-9. Not truly astonishing if you ask me. You'd think he would stumble over something at some point - but what do I know?

anything found in that pond - even if it's wearing a denim skirt - will quickly be classified as ancient pirate remains from the 1400's.

The bones will be dated by a quick visual and the sex will be determined by looking at the should socket.

I'd like a factual record as well, Rob.  Because he participated in 9/11 search I think he is giving himself credit for all the bodies recovered.  Hardly an accurate picture of his past performance.

If he had found 2000 of course he would be incredibily famous.

The 37 is more believable but I'd like some documentation on even that as he doesn't seem to have a clue what he is doing.

I think "Lighttanks" might be a new dog. I think I saw another article from like 2005 that has Mr. Golba using two other dogs - least thats the way it looked. I thought I saw the names of the dogs listed, and it wasn't Rhino "Lighttanks" Golba.

And we have learned that when a wonder dog arrives on Aruba - it takes time to get used to Aruba. WLC told us - so it must be true. And this Rhino "Lighttanks" Golba ain't no ordinary Search and Rescue and Drug Sniffer and Money Laundering Dog... this is the real deal and it could literally take this dog a month to get used to Aruba. You might not see him anytime soon wreck.

Natalee Holloway Dad: Pond Search May Take 2 Weeks
Tuesday, March 24, 2009 

ORANJESTAD, Aruba —  The father of missing American teenager Natalee Holloway said Monday that a U.S. private investigator has begun scouring a pond in Aruba for signs of his daughter and the search may take up to two weeks.

Dave Holloway said the Aruba Prosecutors' Office has asked the investigator, Fred Golba of Chicopee, Massachusetts, to not speak to reporters during his search for evidence into Natalee Holloway's May 2005 disappearance.

Holloway said the tracker dog specialist will comply with the request.

Golba will be searching the pond for "10 days to two weeks maximum" in search of any answers that have eluded the family, Holloway said from his home in Meridian, Mississippi.

Items uncovered in Aruba pond as search continues for Holloway

(NECN/WGGB) - The search for a missing Alabama teen continues at the bottom of a pond in Aruba.

A Chicopee, Massachusetts based private investigator was hired to search there for the remains of Natalee Holloway.

As you may recall, she disappeared in 2005 during a senior class trip.

Fred Golba and his crew searched a significant portion of a local pond.

They uncovered a pair of women's underwear, a purse, a backpack, and 3 car seat covers.

Golba says his team is not sure how long the items have been there or who they belong too.

A witness claims he saw lead suspect Joran Van der Sloot leaving this pond the night Natalee disappeared.

The search continues Saturday.

The next day, Tuesday May 31st 2005 in the afternoon, I was with Joran at the raquetclub. Joran looked worried. He asked me if I could remember what he had said the previous day about the girl. I told him yes. The girl had gone missing. The FBI had been to his house during the night but he had not been home. His father had called him to find out where he was, Joran said that he was in the Raddison Casino. He told he that after that phone call he was called on the phone by Deepak and that Deepak picked him up a few minutes later. They drove to Joran's house. The FBI and the girls family were at his house.

After that Joran told me that Deepak, Satish and himself did not drop off the girl at the Holiday Inn Hotel, but that the four of them drove to the beach at the north side of the Marriot Hotel. The girl had fallen several times on the way to the beach. Joran told me that at some point she "no longer came around/no longer regained consciousness" and that they had left her on the beach. He also told me that he had left his gym/sporting shoes on the beach. After Joran had told me this, I asked him why he had left her there. He answered me that at that moment he had not known what to do. Joran told me that after this he was dropped off at home by Deepak and Satish.

BETH HOLLOWAY TWITTY, MOTHER OF NATALEE HOLLOWAY:  I know one thing that Deepak Kalpoe did in August was, when the gardener came before the judge of instruction to give sworn testimony of witnessing those three suspects together in the Kalpoe brothers' car that night at the pond, across the street from the Marriott, it was in front of the prosecutor, in front of the defense, the judge of instruction, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, Joran Van Der Sloot.

Deepak panicked. He panicked when the gardener gave that testimony. That very afternoon, he called an Aruban girl to help him establish an alibi. She, in turn, panicked. She called FBI. She dialed the 1-877-NATALEE number and told them that she did not want to be involved in this.

But it led to an abrupt change in the tide of support.

“The statements I made on July 5th were fueled by despair and frustration because of still not knowing where my daughter is,” Beth Holloway Twitty said in a statement to the media. “I think everyone, everyone can sympathize with that.”

As missing-teen case cools, Aruba turns against family
Arubans helped search for the Alabama high-schooler, who disappeared two years ago, but now they're embittered by the negative publicity.

American Julia Renfro, editor-in-chief of Aruba Today, initially sided with Holloway's parents when they sought publicity and lambasted Aruban police for following Dutch investigative procedures different from those in the United States.

Galvanized by compassion for a desperate mother, Renfro stopped the presses of her daily newspaper for the first time in its history to include a picture of Holloway to aid Arubans in the islandwide search.

Renfro, a mother of four, spent weeks shuttling the family from the scene of one rumored development to another, but she became disenchanted with what she saw as Twitty's pandering to tabloid TV and "flat-out lies" she told on the air.

"I feel guilty saying any negative thing about a mother who has lost her daughter," Renfro said. "But her behavior was odd from the get-go."

So Aruba will disappear your child then expect you to apologize to them. 

And they don't even seem to understand how very wrong that is.  Also will threaten to bring the investigation, and I use that term very loosely for what was done fell far short of that, to a screeching halt if they don't like what the grief-stricken relatives might say.

Where at the Academy at Quantico did they teach that?  Can you imagine any public official or member of LE in this country threatening a parent in this manner?

We are not attacking the Holloways, we are QUESTIONING why on earth Robin and Dave believe that Julia Renfro and Mark Purcell are worthy of trust after how badly they have spoken about both Natalee and Beth.

Dave is currently on his way home to Meridian. Beth is on her way back also. They met with the KLPD and OM yesterday. I guess there is a miscommunication between interrogation and questioning. They had a lot of questions for Dave and Beth in efforts to help Natalee’s case and dispel a lot of nasty rumours. Also, Dave and Beth had a lot of questions for them too in regards to Natalee’s case. The meeting went well and they are working hard, but we don’t know what will happen next and pray this water search will turn up something. As far as Julia, we have stayed in contact with her and she truly does care for Natalee and wants to know what happened to her as much as anyone else. Dave was able to meet with Mark for a little while last night while he was there and had a nice visit. It is good to know they are still there and willing to help. Please know they are still there too for Natalee.

For now, waiting on Dave to get home and will watch the news or wait on that phone call to see what will happen next. It’s been a long two and a half years and never dreamed this much time would go by with no answers. Thanks to all of you for your continued support and for hanging in there with us. Thank you Debbie for coming to Meridian to hang out with the girls, Matt and me. I was a nervous wreck and glad you were able to make time for us this weekend. Brooke just got in from a playdate and was upset she didn’t get to say goodbye Sad I don’t think she realized you would be gone before she got home.

The boat should be in Aruba depending on the weather between Thurs and Saturday. Will keep you updated.
