but, would whoever it was who put the suitcase there been familiar with the property to know to put it there?

In my opinion, the person wasn't very smart.  Those irrigation things are VERY much in use right now.  They may not have known what kind of water they were dealing with.  And just up the road was the bridge for Old River.  A few miles away was the aquaduct.  There were so many choices, why pick something so close to her house?

Perhaps the person is newer to the area and didn't know how the irrigation worked?  Also, maybe the person only had a limited time to be away and took her there quickly and returned.  A couple of miles down the road would only take a few minutes to get there then get back.  Somebody may have just wanted to get rid of the body very quickly and chose the first place they came to.  I just don't know.

just a thought....the one   POI who has a son with a disability....what type of disability does he have? he is around 17 right? could he be a POI and the parents are covering for him? not trying to accuse him because of his disability but everything and everyone has to be considered...would not be the first time that a teenager harmed a small child...disability or not....and hid it from his parents...and isn't this a house where Sandra was said to frequent from time to time?

Perhaps this disposal site was selected to avoid searchers or roadblocks and selected in haste and under pressure.

Wow you all are good! I went on the chruch site but didn't think to check out the addresses of the minister!

This is what I find frustrating most of all with this investigation....On the sunday 3/29 I drove down Clover, I had never been there before. I noticed so many sheds and out buildings. This is the street searchers first went down I was told. They went door to door and told everyone to check their out buildings and trailers. After I drove up and down looking for any thing I realized this is a place that is the most obvious. close by, lots of hiding places to keep her or do whatever. I stopped by the command center on Clover at the motel and called over one of the police officers there. I asked him if that street had been searched, he said yes mam we are searching everywhere....He did what the Tracy PD usually does, disrespect the opinions of the average citizens and an average mom.

This maybe the first place with standing water when you drive on Tracy Blvd. It is difficult to determin if it is an irrigation field or a part of the river or whatever.

I'm not sure it's visible from the main road though.

If it is the place I think it is, it is right before the bend on Tracy blvd. I beleive you can see water, I recall seeing this area on that Sunday I was out there. You can also see water ditches (if that is what they are called) on the side of the road.

We are thinking alike, I believe the son is 21.

I read on CNN that this was a pond used for irrigation.  I pray that they find something on/in that suitcase to nail the sicko that did this to Sandra.

My heart aches for her family.

If Sandra was there a lot and this kid had limited social interactions? dunno....just trying to think of anyone who could be capable....does anyone know the disability of this kid?
Are there other youths in this park who may or may not have a record? would we know if they are a juvenile?

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't they say that the farmer(s) found the suit case if the middle of the pond?  So is it wrong to assume that the suit case was put there prior to it being filled again.  Because if took four people to lift the suit case to move it out of the pond, the perp, A. would of had to throw the suit case from the side, B. wade in to the middle, by rolling it?, or C. roll it into the middle of an empty ditch two weeks ago.

That's interesting, so the person would not know that, especially if one isn't educated on farming, would maybe have no idea this was an irrigation field.

I think the word pond sor. They are large rectangled shapped pools of water. If you recall the pictures yesterday the depth was considerable.

snip>On Monday, they got a tip about the dairy farm.

Workers on the farm were getting water from a retention pond when the black suitcase came to the surface of the water, police said.

They got a tip?  wish they'd elaborate on that more.....

You guys mentioned the weight of the suitcase needing 4 people to get it out of the water.  I am sure it wasn't that heavy when it was dry.

Another thing that would be interesting to know, if this pastor of the church, has a son in his teenage years or early 20's and if he lives with dad.
