My dear Monkey Friends-

No mas, you know I lub ya. Here's the danger in making any rationalization or justification for a grown man kissing a child on the lips that is not a non-perv relative.
A REAL LIFE PERV will use whatever you say as rationalization and justification for their behavior. I am not saying this to make anyone wrong in any way. I am saying this because there has to be a 0% tolerance policy on this issue, in any situation.

Two months ago I interviewed Ken Lanning, a 35 year veteran of the FBI, most consider the John Douglas of behavioral profiling of pedophilia and helped structure child porn laws for what they are today. I was so profoundly affected by it I have not and may never write on it. I felt it was so insightful that it would actually help pedos hone their craft. It haunts me to this day. Most do not know how prolific this illness is and how broadly it runs the perp spectrum.
I know I wish I did not after the fact, I am still having nightmares. I say that with complete respect for Mr. Lanning, who is an absolute subject matter expert (sme) and dedictaed pioneer in his profession. Not a pleasant subject.

Blink - thanks for restating what all parents need to remember. PERVS hide in normal people clothing. And they will morph anything you say into an excuse for what they did or plan to do. Most pedos are great at making friends with children - they play games with the kids, they make them feel "special" - and scariest of all to me - the kids seem to like them. A lot of times it is just a prelude to trading sexual favors for playing with them. I personally know of one that would tell kids "If you let me (fill in the blank) then we can play (insert kid's favorite thing)." I was fooled by this sicko and he got not much more than a slap on the wrist and people still serve kids up to him like a smörgåsbord. Please know the people that your kids hang with and be paranoid.

oh please know that I was in NO WAY trying to rationalize or justify what this creep-o did......i just am not sure he was involved in whatever happened to Sandra.  maybe because he didn't deny this happening....i dont know why I feel this way.  with that being said, i wouldn't be all that surprised if he was involved.  so as you can see, i really dont know what to think of this man...lol .   my feelings are all discombobulated!!!

I am paranoid and I know everyone that my grand daughter who just turned 6 is around...I watch her like a hawk and will continue to do so...I may be over protective but I don't care...her parents do a good job as well....better safe than sorry...

unlike the Anthonys, there would never be a zanny the nanny that I had not met, been to her house and had her phone number...Another case I know, but that just baffles me that the Ants profess that Caylee was their whole life, but they had never even met this Zanny??!! granted she didn't exist, but still, they did not fulfill their duty as protectors in my opinion...
and that is what we are to our little ones...their protectors......

11 pm news.

News agencies found the house being searched in Oakdale.  Relatives of Sinclair (guy who fussed about them searching his place).  Husband and wife.  Neighbors describe them as quiet.  He works all the time, mows grass on the weekends.

FBI swooped in, had ladders, shovels, metal detectors, you name it.  There was a hole that had been dug by a patio.  Investigators were not interviewed there.  Nothing was shown being taken out, only that ladders, etc. were being taken into the yard.

Also showed video of them searching at the landfill.  They were specific in that they are looking for the pink Hello Kitty shirt.  Everything else was a repeat of earlier.

Goodnight monkeys!  I hope to wake to good news in the morning!

Thanks Spring and everyone for the updates-
B

Wow, so these people in Oakdale are relatives of Sinclair  Ladders, shovels, metal detectors, that is scary. They are looking for the pink Hello Kitty shirt, so I'm assuming they are looking for this shirt thrown somewhere, not Sandra still wearing it, perhaps she is in different clothes, but I guess I'm being naive thinking that.  And Blink your story of when you were four, how very lucky, you sure were a determined four year old.

me either LeRoy!
there is no justifying it...
I just feel that he was forthcoming and honest about what he did and hopefully realized that what he did was very inappropriate and by doing what he did, has put himself in a whole lot of suspicion and rightfully so....

Missing California Girl's Father Tells Her to 'Kick, Scream' to Escape
Thursday , April 02, 2009

The father of a missing 8-year-old California girl pleaded with her to "scream, kick, do what you need to do" to escape her captors as police sifted through dumpsters and a landfill for signs of the child.

Sandra Cantu's dad Daniel said he has spoken at length with police, according to FOX San Francisco affiliate KTVU.

"I've just gotten through a couple hours of being interrogated," Cantu said.

He is divorced from Sandra's mother and lives in Mexicali, along the California border with Mexico.

He hasn't seen his daughter in a year, he said, but he does want to get a message to her.

"Honey, if you can get to a phone, dial 911, babe," KTVU quoted him as saying. "Scream. Kick. Do what you need to do."

Cantu said he hadn't taken Sandra to Mexico.

Police combed through garbage at a landfill in Tracy, Calif., but turned up no clues.

A Tracy police spokesman said the search at the facility about seven miles from the mobile home park where Sandra lives with her family is routine.

Tracy Police Lt. Jeremy Watney said detectives hadn't gotten any information leading them to the landfill, but wanted to cover their bases.

Crews using bulldozers and other equipment were expected to be sifting through trash at the site all week.

The girl was last seen at about 4 p.m. on March 27, when a surveillance video camera recorded her walking away from her family's mobile home in Tracy. Her mother reported her missing at about 8 p.m.

Investigators said they're poring over more than 500 leads in their search for the child, but none of the tips indicate Sandra may not be alive.

"We're not ruling anything out, because the moment we do is when we're proven wrong," Watney told KTVU. "We're going to treat it as a missing person, as a runaway, possibly foul play."

To date, four vehicles have been towed away from the mobile home park, according to the station. Detectives have scoured footage from surveillance cameras pointed at the front entrance of the park.

Police say they're investigating two men classified as "persons of interest" in the case. The men's homes have been searched and their vehicles confiscated, and the evidence collected is undergoing forensic analysis.

But authorities have not said why the pair attracted the attention of police, what their names are or how they might be connected to the missing girl.

Sandra's family held another vigil for the girl in their trailer park Wednesday night.

The child is described as Hispanic, 4 feet tall and weighing 45 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a pink Hello Kitty T-shirt and black leggings when she was last seen.

Thanks Klaas. I really am trying to figure out what was found at Sinclair's home to go to Oakdale, to a relative's house. To go to this relatives house, with ladders, shovels and metal detectors, is very disturbing.

I don't know if they took anything.  The cameras just didn't show that part.  Only them showing up.

Police defend search for Tracy girl
But officials admit scope of the case is unprecedented

By Daniel Thigpen
Record Staff Writer
April 02, 2009 6:00 AM

TRACY - With questions mounting and still no sign of little Sandra Cantu, the authorities searching for her have offered plenty of optimism but few answers to support it.

On Wednesday, five days after the 8-year-old girl's family reported her missing from their mobile home park, Tracy police defended their response in the critical hours after the second-grader vanished.

Police Lt. Jeremy Watney said investigators threw resources, both from within and outside of Tracy, toward the case almost immediately.

Tracy police, the FBI and the Carole Sund/Carrington Foundation are offering $7,000 in reward money for any information that leads to 8-year-old Sandra Cantu. A Sacramento bounty hunter says he is also offering a $10,000 reward for Sandra’s safe return.

Anyone with information about the girl’s whereabouts is urged to call the Tracy Police Department at (209) 831-4550 or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at (800) 843-5678.

Sandra is 4 feet tall, weighs 45 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink Hello Kitty T-shirt and black leggings.

A video camera recorded Sandra leaving her home about 4 p.m. Friday in the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park, in the 800 block of West Clover Road, police said. She hasn’t been seen since.
But he acknowledged the department is navigating unfamiliar territory.

"We haven't had a missing-child case like this in the city of Tracy," Watney said. "It's a new experience; ... we're living and learning."

Sandra was last seen leaving her mom's and grandparents' home in the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park on West Clover Road about 4 p.m. Friday.

When the girl didn't arrive home as expected, family members searched for her until reporting her missing about 8 p.m., police said. Police said a search began within 15 minutes.

Watney said officers swarmed the trailer park that night and called in a California Highway Patrol helicopter as the sun set.

Shortly after initiating the search, police entered Sandra into a missing-persons database, eventually catching the attention of FBI agents, who offered their assistance, Tracy police Sgt. Tony Sheneman said earlier this week.

Local authorities contacted the California Emergency Management Agency at 3 a.m. Saturday and mobilized 216 people and 12 dogs to help with the search for the missing girl, said Tom Murray, assistant chief of the agency's law enforcement branch.

That help came from Sacramento, Contra Costa, Marin, Alameda, Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, as well as from California Explorer Search and Rescue, a volunteer team based in the Bay Area, Murray said.

By then, the case was growing into a massive weekend effort, with hundreds of people, including volunteers, from throughout Northern California scouring the city.

Watney said most local media outlets were first notified of Sandra's disappearance at about 2 a.m. Saturday, although he said many organizations did not initially receive word because the department had outdated contact information.

Watney on Wednesday sought to assure a worried public that "we're starting to be able to narrow things down," but detectives still haven't ruled out any possibilities, including that Sandra was abducted or ran away.

"We're not going to leave any stones unturned," he said.

Watney admitted, however, that it's less likely a second-grader is simply on her own this long.

"It would be unusual for an 8-year-old to be gone for five days," he said.

No suspects have been identified and no search warrants have been issued since Monday.

Investigators and volunteers have searched the landfill in rural south Tracy multiple times for clues, but Watney would not say what, if anything, was found.

Police checkpoints at the mobile home park have ceased, for now, because they were targeting the same residents repeatedly, Watney said.

Among the other details learned Wednesday:

A family member dropped off Sandra's estranged father, Daniel Cantu, at the police station that morning. Watney said Cantu, who has not been named a suspect, voluntarily spoke to investigators because he wanted to know the status of the case.

Family and friends say the father lives in Mexico and works in Southern California, and has not been involved in Sandra's upbringing.

Watney also insisted police are keeping tabs on two male trailer park residents named in search warrants - but not named suspects - whose vehicles and homes were searched in a raid late Monday.

He said he is not concerned the men will flee but did not elaborate.

Police also continued to field questions about a two-year-old incident in which a man kissed Sandra on the lips in the trailer park's pool.

Frank Wohler, an Orchard Estates resident who teaches martial arts, said he was the one who kissed Sandra and that police on Monday searched his home and business.

Family members said they reported the kissing incident to police at the time. On Wednesday, Watney said police followed up on that report, but he said did not know what came of the investigation.

He said Police Chief Janet Thiessen has asked the department to review that investigation.

More than 500 tips were handed over to detectives by Wednesday afternoon, Watney said. "I really feel like there is progress being made," he said.

With little to go on but hope, Sandra's family sits and waits.

"That's the hardest part," said Angie Chavez, Sandra's aunt. "It's a living nightmare."

Dad of missing 8-year-old California girl to undergo polygraph

KNTV
Published: April 2, 2009

The father of an 8-year-old California girl missing since last Friday has agreed to undergo a polygraph test.

Daniel Cantu said he will do anything to help find his daughter, Sandra, who disappeared from a park near her home in Tracy last week.

“She’s only eight years old. She’s small, she’s alone, she’s scared,“ Cantu said. “And I love her very much. And if she can get to a phone, please run, dial 911. Do what you need to do, honey.“

Cantu says he is frustrated and upset because police in Mexico raided his home there and threatened his new wife.

Meanwhile, volunteers and police are searching a landfill near the home of Sandra Cantu and her mother.

Police have identified two men they consider “persons of interest,“ though no arrests have been made.

Sandra was wearing a pink “Hello Kitty” T-shirt, a striped skirt and black leggings when she disappeared.

that is good that the dad is going to take a poly...
he hasn't been in her life since she was 2 yrs old from what I saw on tv...would be odd that he would suddenly show up out of the blue and do any harm to her....but at least he is doing the poly and getting it out of the way....

I agree, I doubt very much that he had anything to do with Sandra's disappearance, it sounds like he has a new family.
