A Song for Sandra

Florida singer-songwriter Eli Grimes taped this song about a missing child.

When a Florida singer-songwriter heard about Sandra Cantu, the missing 8-year-old from Tracy, he wanted to share a song he wrote for another girl, who has been missing since Feb. 10 in Florida.

Eli Grimes' "A Little Girl Is Missing" was inspired, he said, by 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings, but he said it is also a song he sings for Sandra.

"I hope the song helps keep the fires burning a little brighter until Sandra comes home," the 56-year-old said. "I can't say this is going to solve anything, but maybe it will give her family hope."

He said he hopes radio stations will play the song he recorded in St. Augustine, Fla.

"Ever since I was just a wee kid, I would make up my own songs to sing," he said. "I have always wanted to do something in my life that would make a positive impact in this world."

Grimes has cut a CD with 14 songs on it.

Helicopter search tomorrow starting at 9 a.m.

Klaas is REALLY badmouthing this investigation. 

A video was released of her opening Christmas presents.  I don't know if it is up on KRON's site yet.

Other than that, there was really nothing new on the news.

Police scrutinize viewers of child porn

Computer-savvy cops in Tracy have identified about 60 people who view or exchange child pornography, and police say they get extra attention as investigators search for the missing Sandra Cantu, 8.


Tracy police say they have their eye on people in Tracy they have found exchanging child pornography over the Internet. The state says 78 registered sex offenders call Tracy home.

But Tracy police have their eye on as many as 60 people in the city who they have found to exchange child pornography over the Internet, police said.

How many of one group are counted among the other is unclear. But investigators said their histories landed the two sets under the microscope in light of an 8-year-old Tracy girl’s disappearance last week.

Isn't this in and of itself a crime?  I thought possession of child pornography was and that the FBI would be all over this.

Is that not the case?  I have seen many people sentenced to jail for a very long time for possession of child porn as well they should be but this sounds as though it is not a crime by itself.

Don't understand this part.

lol, that's ok, I probably should have figured that. But our Klaas is not all that thrilled with it either, nor am I. Imo they blundered out of the gate when they stated they expected to find her alive and well. If this turns out to be similar to the Lunsford case Im gonna lose it on that guy, who, btw, is no longer speaking for the Tracy PD..

I do not like to bash LE, in this case, well, I hope they get some answers quickly.

I would hope that possession of child porn would AT THE VERY LEAST be an arrestable offense for a sex offender.  It's ridiculous if it isn't grounds for an arrest for ANYONE in possession of it.

why oh why are any of these sex offenders out of jail? that is part of the problem...they should never, ever be out after a firs offense in my opinion..

Deenie....that program that you watched sounds like it was informative but difficult to watch?
I don't know about the mom...I did wonder why mom did not see her child when she came back in..was she in her bedroom vs the common area of the home? It appeared if I read it right that the grand father had seen her cause they were going to go to church and to the movies....?
I don't understand why Sandra came back home when she had not been to her friends home for that long that day...and she said that she had to do homework, came in her home briefly and then left again...where was she going? why didn't she tell someone in her home where she was going?
hope that she is safe and found soon..

The man that lives across from Sandra stated that he kept an eye out for her since "the incident" (kissing incident) and said there was another incident...he was hesitent to tell reporters exactly what it was but at the end of the interview he said that Wohler would drive past Sandra's and look at her house!!!!! The guy then said....he has no reason to be driving there... he lives on another street!

LE understands that ... ALL prison guards know this... 
Now the trip to Mexico may have just become more clear..

One report said they were searching over waterways.  This report made it sound like they were going over land.

Thank-you, have you heard if Wohler, the neighbor who kissed Sandra, spent time at Pelican Bay Prison? I saw this on another forum, but don't know how to verify this, my computer skills are limited
