Search warrant was just on the one home. No details.

They visited with the family and touched based. They wanted to reassure them and answer and questions.

Next presser in the morning at 10:00 am.

Close to 200 officers and five or six agencies at any given time working on this case. Depending on the time of day.

TRACY (KRON) -- The FBI and Tracy Police are raiding a mobile home at the park where eight-year old Sandra Cantu disappeared a week ago.  KRON 4's Dan Kerman saw ten law enforcement cars pull up to the trailer. An FBI evidence team is also on the scene along with a tow truck.

The raid comes hours after police said Sandra Cantu has a mole on her face.  Investigators hope that added detail along with video released Thursday showing the missing child at a Christmas party will help someone provide the clue that leads to her safe return.

Hundreds of volunteers are expected to join the search for Sandra who disappeared nearly a week ago from her home at a Tracy mobile home park.  Authorities are asking people who want to help in the search to gather at a fire station at 7700 Linne Road on Saturday.  That's where organizers will assign them to specific tasks in the search for the missing girl.

Investigators say they continue to talk with Sandra's father who reportedly passed a lie detector test.  He insists he did not take the child from his estranged wife.

A CHP helicopter is up combing through some of the open spaces near Interstate 205, just about a mile from where the girl was last seen.  Investigators confirm they served another search warrant Thursday in the case but won't say who it targets or where.

The total number of tips from the public is now more than 700.  Investigators say they are tracking every report of a possible sighting of the little girl.  Detectives are also going back through their notes and the evidence gathered during the search to see if they missed anything.

Stay tuned to KRON 4 and KRON4.com for continuing coverage all weekend of the search for Sandra Cantu.

TRACY - A new description of Sandra Cantu, the missing 8-year-old from Tracy, was released today at a press conference held by the Tracy Police Department.

Officials now report that Sandra has a birthmark on her right cheek, visible in some of the photos released by authorities earlier this week.

Friday marks the seventh day Sandra Cantu has been missing.  Authorities are investigating over 700 leads that have poured in to the Tracy police department.

A community-led search is being organized Saturday morning at the Tracy firehouse on 7700 Linne Road.

Wendy (I forget her last name) the expert on JVM show on CNN thinks they put the mole out there because it's so distinctive. She thinks Sandra being missing might have something to do with child porn from what I am taking from it.

Another home searched; man talks to police
Written by Jennifer Wadsworth
Friday, 03 April 2009

A 44-year-old mobile home resident agreed to go with police while they searched his home today.

Debra and David Slayter attended a candlelight vigil earlier this week at the mobile home park.

Police this afternoon drove off with David Slayter, 44, after searching his home at space No. 43 in the mobile home park where an 8-year-old Tracy girl went missing exactly a week ago.

FBI agents and Tracy detectives pulled items from Slayter's home in the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park and packed them into a white crime-scene truck. A caravan of at least seven trucks and detectives’ cars pulled into the neighborhood shortly before 2 p.m. today.

Slayter voluntarily got in a police about 15 minutes after investigators arrived, said Tracy police spokesman Lt. Jeremy Watney, but police declined to disclose where they went to talk.

Slayter was identified through a newspaper photograph that shows him and his wife, Debra, in front of their home, and another photo of the couple at a candlelight vigil.

Slayter’s name also comes up in an Internet search with an inactive Web site called www.moneymansvault.com, which indicates he lives at 812 W. Clover Road, No. 43, in Tracy.

But police have yet to identify Slayter or say why he was taken away or what role — if any — he might have had in the disappearance of Sandra. He has not been arrested or detained, Watney emphasized at a 3:30 press conference.

The Tracy man lives with his wife, Debra Slayter, and a son. A missing-persons poster with a picture of second-grader Sandra Cantu was pasted on the Slayters’ front window. Sandra was last seen near her family’s home in the neighborhood around 4 p.m. on March 27.

Slayter was quoted in the Stockton Record expressing concern for the missing girl.

“I told her (Sandra), you’ve go to be careful with some adults,” he told a Record reporter Monday.

Possibly in the background yes, but more because the higher the concentration of SO's, when a case like this happens, they rat each other out to try to stay out of prison, AND, when they seize their computers etc, they drag the net behind them like a trawler. Not being glib at all, its true and really sick.

I am sorry to say that I think they found something significant. I am willing to bet that the sheriff going to the families house at the same time the guys was at HQ initially was to make sure to be there if it got back to the family they were there. Press and anyone not a resident is not allowed in there now for that very reason.

I was discussing this case with Red today and he said living there with a child is the equivalent of handing them gasoline and matches to play with everyday. I could not agree more.
