 Morning Justins~! I wanted to say how nice it was the other day when you posted all of those photos.. A reminder why eveyone is here!

Thank you for bringing kbm to the forum. I hope he comes back.

If he does, we don't have to change the discussion to 100% "kbm".

I think that he was less inclined toward the insurance scam theory after our discussion.

I hope he will read the statements; that will help him understand our frustration.

One thing kbm makes apparent: we need to find ways to make hard facts known to the people of Aruba. Things like:

Max DeVries (sp?) and Natalee Holloway were not insurance scams perpetuated by their families.

In different statements after the Holiday Inn drop-off story collapsed, Joran said that -
(a) 2K and Natalee dropped JVDS off at home;
(b) Deepak picked him up from the beach, where JVDS left Natalee;
(c) Satish picked him up from the beach, where JVDS left Natalee;
(d) he walked home from the beach, where JVDS left Natalee.
Why wouldn't Joran be able to say how he got home?
(Does that cover the all scenarios he presented?)

Paulus does not know whether Joran went to school on Monday 5/30, although he knows that the younger brothers did.

How do we get these points - and I'm sure there are others - to the normal people on Aruba?

I tried that the othe day.  I wanted him to mentioned the statements and have people read them.  They can draw their own conclusion.  Here is the exchange we had:

From Deepak's 6/11/05 statement:

Joran got out first and then the girl. He said: Fine, I will see you tomorrow. I asked him how he would get home. He said that he would find a way to get home. I said, and the girl. He answered, I will drop her off at the “Holiday Inn Hotel”, we will walk along the beach and it is very close by. I had asked him, sure. He answered yes, I will see you tomorrow. I do remember that I saw them walking off hand in hand. I drove out of the street to get back onto the road and proceeded driving into the direction of my house.

Since Joran has told the world through interviews that he left Natalee alone on the beach, I find this statement by Deepak interesting because it makes both he & Joran look like they had Natalee's best interests at heart, that being getting her back to the HI.  

This may have been dissected earlier, but it stands out...especially because this statement was made on the heels or about the same time as the confession/recant, iirc.

And we DO need to find ways to get information to the people who live in Aruba. All they hear is ATA and AHTA and LE CYA.

From Paulus' statement:

Joran was accused and inconsistencies in his story where pointed
out to him. I at that moment in time though that those
inconsistencies where futilities and that he was seriously pressured
from several sides/people.

. I
told Joran and Deepak that they should make their statements
to the police-officers rather than to the Americans.

I at that moment stated that they had gone too far and that
Joran and Deepak should make no more statements to the
Americans

 A little bit reluctantly
I got back into the police car with Deepak and Joran

When we arrived at the Holiday Inn
there was a dark coloured man there standing with folded arms who
later introduced himself as WILLIAMS from the F.B.I. This man immediately
took Joran separately and had a short talk with him. I also went over to
WILLIAMS and asked him what his function was. Then he told me he
was with the F.B.I. so I returned to the the police officers and asked
them whether they knew that F.B.I. officers were present there

From reading this part, It convinces me even more Paulus knew something.  It took him 15 minutes to come out to see what the police wanted, he took them all on a wild goose chase, then returned.  His story sounds rehearsed - an awful lot of detail for a man who has such a poor memory   Anyhow, Joran starts getting questioned, and Already has inconsistencies in his story - Paulus sees Joran breaking - and more or less tells them to shut up and only talk to the police....He knows how the police work and he doesn't want Joran or Deepak to say anything to someone other than the police. He tells J & D not to talk to the Americans anymore.  To be sure they don't open their mouths, he rides with them to the HI.  Then when he gets there, Williams takes Joran aside.  I bet Paulus was about to freak - because he finds out Williams is FBI.  I can see him now, running up to ALE and saying - do you realize there is FBI here?  I am SURE he didn't like THAT fact.  Then.....

 One of the police officers had
a lengthy discussion with WILLIAMS in the back of the lobby. I
understood from the officer that he had informed WILLIAMS of
the existence of the so-called “Beach bums

Low and behold, one of the police officers saved Joran from being questioned and told the FBI of the horrible "beach bums"  Already - a diversion.

Paulus was REALLY working it that night.  POS!!!!!
