CyberCrime Unit Arrests Jacksonville Man for Promoting the Sexual Performance of a Child Through Child Pornography

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced that a Jacksonville man has been taken into custody on charges of promoting the sexual performance of a child through child pornography. Kyle Richard Schlau was arrested at home today by law enforcement officers with the Attorney General’s CyberCrime Unit, the FBI and the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Schlau’s possession of child pornography was discovered when CyberCrime investigators located images of child pornography during a routine undercover investigation and traced the images back to Schlau’s computer. A search warrant was served at his house this morning and law enforcement seized two desktop computers, one laptop and several CDRoms. Schlau, who admitted to possessing the images discovered, was considered a high priority target for law enforcement based on the voracity of his use of pornographic images involving children. Some of the images identified included videos of children appearing to be no more than four years of age.

Schlau, 25, will be charged with nine counts of promoting the sexual performance of a minor, a second-degree felony, and additional charges may be added after the forensic analysis has been completed on the equipment seized from the house. The case will be prosecuted by attorneys with the CyberCrime Unit. The CyberCrime Unit is a member of the North Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and this investigation is part of "Operation Fairplay."

CyberCrime Unit Arrests Hillsborough County Man for Possessing, Promoting Child Pornography

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced that a Hillsborough County man has been taken into custody on charges of child pornography possession and promoting the sexual performance of a child. Marcus James Morgan was arrested at his Thonotosassa home today by law enforcement officers with the Attorney General’s CyberCrime Unit, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. This arrest is the second made by the CyberCrime Unit today; the first arrest occurred just hours ago in Jacksonville.

Morgan’s possession of child pornography was discovered when CyberCrime investigators located images of child pornography during a routine undercover investigation and traced the images back to Morgan’s computer. A search warrant was served at his house this morning and law enforcement seized a laptop computer. Morgan, 30, admitted to possessing the images discovered during the investigation. Many of the images reviewed by investigators were of children appearing to be between the ages of 5-13 years old.

Morgan, an ex-member of the U.S. Navy, will be charged with six counts of promoting child pornography and 15 counts of possession of child pornography. The charges will be enhanced under the CyberCrimes Against Children Act, raising the promotion charges to first-degree felonies and the possession charges to second-degree felonies. The agencies involved with today’s arrest are either members of the Attorney General's Tampa CyberCrime Task Force or the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

A copy of Morgan's booking report is available online at: http://www.hcso.tampa.fl.us/pub/default.asp?/Online/qdisp/bn=09018333

CyberCrime Unit Arrests Martin County Registered Sex Offender for Possession of Child Pornography

~ Arrest is third made by the CyberCrime Unit today; defendant had over 20 computers in his possession ~

TALLAHASSEE, FL – Attorney General Bill McCollum today announced that a Martin County registered sex offender has been taken into custody on charges of child pornography possession. Tim Orman was arrested at his Jensen Beach home today by law enforcement officers with the Attorney General’s CyberCrime Unit, the FBI and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office. Two arrests have already been made by the unit today; a Jacksonville man was arrested this morning for promoting the sexual performance of a child and a Hillsborough County man was arrested shortly thereafter for possession and promotion of child pornography.

“Arresting a registered sex offender for possession of child pornography is a very serious matter, and a significant accomplishment toward protecting Florida’s children,” said Attorney General Bill McCollum. “Today’s three arrests throughout the state also emphasize the importance of our CyberCrime Unit’s presence statewide.”

Orman’s possession of child pornography was discovered when CyberCrime investigators located images of child pornography during a routine undercover investigation and traced the images back to Orman’s computer. A search warrant was served at his house this morning and law enforcement seized more than 20 computers which will undergo additional forensic analysis. Orman, 46, admitted to possessing the images discovered during the investigation. The images identified included images of children appearing to be as young as 10 years old.

According to the Florida sex offender registry, Orman’s prior conviction was for a California charge involving a sexual crime on a victim under the age of 14. More information is available online at: http://offender.fdle.state.fl.us/offender/flyer.do?personId=52333. Orman will be charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography which will be enhanced from third-degree to second-degree felonies under the CyberCrimes Against Children Act. Additional charges may be added after the forensic analysis has been completed on the equipment seized from the house. The case will be prosecuted by attorneys with the CyberCrime Unit. The agencies involved in today’s arrest are members of the Central Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Unbelievable ... just goes to shows you - Do you really know what people do behind closed doors?

We had a freak in our city not too long ago. He was caught on video at a Summer Fair/Festival in the city I lived. Caught in the background of another parent videoing his Own children at the Fair.  The parent was video taping his children having fun at the fair.. He went and played back his " Family Video of the Event with his Wife and Kids " later that night ..and within the video to his Astonishment was a man in the background trying to video a 3ish 4 yr old little girls underclothing. It was very upsetting as a parent to know you kid was at that Fair and may be on video at some freaks house ... I was at the fair that day. I remember taking my daughter. My daughter was older though ..possibly too old for this Freaks taste.

That he was stalking a 3/4 yr old girls to video their panties while they were on  Kiddie Carnival Rides.  Yep What a Freak. So he *Dad contacted police and this was a event that lasted several days .. so Police went in undercover and Low and behold ' Ol Freak Boy" was back at the fair. They got him. They when to his house and found child pornography, videos .. etc ..

Well he was some man of distinction in his Career and could not handle the charges being public ..yada so He saved us from going through all of it too - " He Killed Himself".
So one more off the street I say is a good thing.
Why wouldn't you want to kill yourself just for Being that Sick in the Head .. No kill yourself because You got caught. Show a Conscience doesn't it.

I agree...I am all for those GPS devices on kids..also, I have those leash deals that look like a monkey backpack and the tail hooks on to the child...I get some looks but I don't care,..while shopping at least my grand daughter was right by me...made me feel secure..to hell with what anyone else thinks..

for the life of me, I do not see or understand how a grown man can find anything sexual or enticing about a little child...it makes me sick to even imagine their thoughts...it really is sickening...grrr...don't even get me started on those sickos...
