Anyone know if he holds an actual paying job other then "caretaker" for the "church"?  Or if he is married and if he is does she work? I am trying to figure out how he has a house worth nearly $400,000? Well, I have my suspicions but....

All of this without even mentioning Sandra has taken place in Tracy within the last 6 mos.

Wow. I know I'm new here but you guys are killing me.

I feel sorry for Sandra's parent...most definitely, but I also have pity for MH's parents and grandparents. You can assume they knew anything about it..and someone earlier called them vermin. I mean, come on...there for the grace of god go I. You can't have complete control over your relatives. If my cousin does something messed up, it's hardly my fault.

I used to be an investigator for a very popular online service (back in the dialup days) and I can tell you it's mostly relatives of the children that are the predators when it comes to actually producing child pornography. Most of it that was traded was either old (70's) or the same pictures over and over again. They'd jump em from a server in the bahamas. It was slick and I can tell you once you've seen it..you never forget it. I remember every picture I saw in sickening detail. It was something not for the faint of heart. I enjoyed getting the perps though. Made me happy.

I'm not saying everyone was not involved but calling these old people who haven't been charged with any crime vermin gives me the heeby jeebies.

I haven't YET gone so far as to call them vermin, but the act of conducting Easter Services at the very church we've been told was the location of Sandra's murder was nothing short of sacrilegious. At the very least, they should have considered how Sandra's family would feel about that. It's like having a party at the murder scene! That act does not put them in a good light in my eyes. And yes, if more comes out about any of her family being complicit in any way then I will have nothing but contempt for them and vermin would be a mild label to apply to that kind of evil.

I was not aware we knew where the murder took place even according to this article the place has not been verified by LE.

We do not know the crime took place nor do we know it did not. IMHO until it is known it showed a lack of compassion and respect  to hold the services there. Again, just my opinion

I just got back and read the new stuff in this case. how sick. But please do not throw the family under the bus with her. I know that SO can be secretive and be doing hideous things under the nose of family and no one know. Especially if the family is older and not so street wise. And a women SO would be even easier to sneak under the radar. My step son (who is both a RSO and a psychopath) molested kids in our home, his mother's home, at school and at the kids' homes. WE NEVER KNEW until two brave little girls told their mom. Thank God they did - we stopped the monster for a time. Now he is out and only 17 so he is not on the public register. So he is free to have all the access to kids that he can get away from. I warn people but some do not listen. his dad does not even realize the danger he poses. the point being, these monsters are wolves in sheep clothing. They have learned to blend in and even family does not always know. So lets wait and see what happens. But if they did know, they deserve a slow painful death just like her.

Suspect in California girl's death has Topeka ties

TOPEKA, Kan. - The ex-husband of a woman charged in the kidnap-slaying of an 8-year-old California girl reportedly is a former Topeka resident.

Melissa Huckaby is being held on suspicion of kidnapping and killing Sandra Cantu and stuffing her body into a suitcase. The 28-year-old Sunday school teacher was arrested Saturday in the death of the girl, who went missing March 27.

Huckaby was once married to and had a child with Johnny Huckaby, who lived in Topeka for several years.

The Topeka Capital-Journal reported Monday that Melissa Huckaby was using a local lawyer in efforts to obtain back child support from her ex-husband. Records showed multiple child-support claims were filed through Shawnee County.

Melissa Huckaby was being held without bail until her arraignment Tuesday.

There was another man arrested outside of a church for child molestation, I think in January. There was also a man arrested for molesting and raping a 4 year old after it was reported to police by the family, may have been March.

Forgot one sorry, the substitute teacher who was arrested after children reported he made them uncomfortable by touching their shoulders and hair. He confessed to being sexually aroused by touching children in this way and admitted to watching child porn.

(TRACY, Calif.) - Police in Tracy, California, a city of 80,000 just east of San Francisco, are searching for an 8 year-old child, Sandra Cantu, who disappeared March 27th.

Now, according to the Tracy Press, investigators in the case say they are looking at 60 individuals in the Tracy area who have been identified trafficking in child pornography, along with 78 "registered" sex offenders.

It is believed to be the first time in the U.S. that police have publicly acknowledged the huge population of known but not arrested child pornography suspects in a missing child case.

While visiting the homes of "registered" sex offenders is common in missing children cases, the public is mostly unaware that U.S. law enforcement has also identified hundreds of thousands of criminals trafficking in child pornography.

Fewer than 2% of these suspects are ever investigated, as police and lawmakers focus on other priorities.

Most law enforcement agencies are reluctant to acknowledge the existence of these suspects, because doing so would put huge numbers of unsolved crimes on their boards... crimes they are not now investigating.

Pursuing the 60 known Tracy child pornography traffickers would, without question, lead to the rescue of many local children who are suffering at the hands of sexual predators, many within their own homes.

If authorities follow through on their plan, they will seek 60 subpoenas and then locate and interview these individuals. Tracy could then expect a wave of successful child pornography and child abuse investigations and prosecutions.

Tracy authorities, under intense pressure to find Sandra Cantu, have now set an incredibly important national precedent.

Their willingness to acknowledge at-large child pornography traffickers in their midst shows courage... and could help locate a child victim.

The red language is what I keep telling myself over and over.  Perhaps this was God's way of saying enough is enough in Tracy and bringing an end to the cult that probably has been injuring children in Tracy and, perhaps abroad, for a long, long time.  We'll never know why God chose Sandra.  But the incident did occur during the time God sacrificed his own son for the lives of others.

Great article Jess, but why did it take this case to do something about the 60+ that they knew about it. Looks like they turned a blind eye to it this whole time. Something had better be done this time.

I wish I had the answer to that.  But it sure seems like this crime was preventable.
