Good Gravy, what an afternoon.

Everything we need to know about what happened and by whom is in Melissa's statement, of that I am 100%. Noticably, she left out whether Williams was at the church when she was there, AND the "rummage sale"...

I want to stop and commend the Investigators in this case.. Can you imagine in an emotionally charged case like this what it is like to know what happened and still be charged with abiding protocol and building the case from an evidentiary perspective? I work with these guys, I COULD NEVER be one of them, I would be in jail. Yeesh.
I will say if Melissa is involved I'm somewhat shocked, I was not expecting a woman, but I still think that some of those unsavory men in that mobile park, may not be involved with Sandra's death, but I'm betting they found child porn with some of these characters.

Rose nothing shocks me anymore. I never would have thought so many children would be murdered as we have seen.  The laws must change for the sake of our children.

(snipped)

(I've snipped out portions of this article to reply to.  My comments in bold blue)

So okies, lets say she took that call on the church phone, INSIDE the church.  It was a Friday afternoon, the church has 14 other members, likely wasn't even open that day with a church secretary and all.  And even the pastor evidently didn't have a key to the church (which is stranger than strange), because Williams had to let him in that day.  Huckaby had left her keys at home with the phone.  Soooooooo.. How did she get INSIDE in order to take the call from Gma?   Are we to actually believe there was a "spare key" to the church on her spare key keyring?  [/b][/color]

Well, we all know who else has keys to the church.....ole Fred Williams.

Yeppers!!  And I wonder how "handy" ole Fred was around that church.  She didn't have her cell phone, could he have just been hanging round, in order to let her in?  Otherwise how would he know to let her in?  The way he let the pastor in?

I was adopted into a Baptist deacon's family.  Not too many in the church had a key.  My adoptive dad did (head deacon), the pastor, secretary, groundskeeper did.  And we had hundreds of members.  And during the day, usually only the secretary, pastor, groundskeeper were there.  On some days, here and there, no one was there.  On Fridays in the afternoon tho, rarely was anyone there.

Just seems real odd, in a hinky peculiar way, that there was anyone at that church (who has only 15 members) with a key, on a friday late afternoon.  IMO

FBI Continues Searching Church In Cantu Case
Pastor's Granddaughter Confirms Note Found Mentions Cantu

POSTED: 11:14 am PDT April 10, 2009
UPDATED: 6:19 pm PDT April 10, 2009

TRACY, Calif. -- The FBI continued on Friday its search of Clover Road Baptist Church in connection with the Sandra Cantu homicide case.

Melissa Huckaby, the granddaughter of Clover Road Baptist Church's pastor, the Rev. Lane Lawless, said on Friday that the suitcase in which Cantu was found matched one that was stolen from her. Huckaby also said that she found a note the day after Cantu's disappearance.

According to Huckaby, the note said, "Cantu, Suitcase, Water. The word 'suitcase' was misspelled, and there were two street names including the word 'Whitehall.'"

Cantu disappeared March 27 from her family's home in Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park.

On Monday morning, farm workers found a black, sealed suitcase while they were draining a pond near Bacchetti Road, about two miles from Orchard Estates. The area is full of agricultural fields, plowed land waiting to be planted and some irrigation ditches. It's adjacent to a dairy farm.

The luggage was taken into the county morgue, where the 8-year-old's body was identified.

"I wish they could have found her a lot sooner, if they would have followed up on this a lot sooner," Huckaby said.

A public memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Merrill F. West High School gym, Sgt. Tony Sheneman said during a media update on Thursday afternoon. The gym seats about 2,500 people, he said.

Anyone wishing to reach Cantu's family may route condolences to the Tracy Police Department, which has assigned a liaison to work with relatives. Those wishing to make donations of money in the girl's memory are being asked to contact the Carole Sund/Carrington Foundation.

So, here we've got yet another instance in which someone other than the perp is blamed.   Coincidence?  I think not.  Melissa and Williams both placed the blame elsewhere - on Sandra's family and now on LE.  They both gave different stories about the luggage.  Hmmm.

I think I am mixing stories, but could someone confirm for me, that at one of the early press conferences they said they had uncovered a child porn ring in Tracy?  In the process of the investigation is what I thought they said.  Does anyone remember this?

Yep.  It's like when LE began lifting one rock, a whole lot of different things slithered out.  As in many towns across the USA.  Unfortunately, this time was in Tracy.  IMO

Well, this is just getting plain ridiculous, now Melissa found a note, sure someone left you a note, this woman really needs to shut up, everytime she talks, more bull comes out. I really want to know more about two things, that internal bleeding, which really has my hinky meter working overtime, and more about the claims of drugging and molesting, and I believe I read about charges of theft in So Ca.

That's what I want to know, where did she find that note. I'm obsessing on her internal bleeding and spending days in the ICU, I wonder if she had bruises and scratches also?

Thank you for responding to my question. Honestly at this point nothing surprises me. I hadn't even thought about women doing anything to the kids..I need to take a shower.

I had a friend in high school who was killed in a snuff film, lucky the man was caught and sentanced for the crime. From the details given of the movie it was aweful.

You're welcome!

I'm so sorry about your friend.

Very glad the man was caught and sentenced!!  And yeah, these type of movies being made contain the worst of the worst.  Which is one reason the typical average person would be horrified in learning the details of.  Learning that human beings are capable of such things to another, esp an innocent child.

It's one reason I keep to myself so much, in my offline life.  I would much prefer the presence of my lil doxie to that of actual people, who IMO, cannot be trusted.  There is so much game-playing going on, and I'm so sick of games.  Dogs are real, they don't lie and the only games they like to play are fetch and sit for a treat, etc.

Pretty interesting that she was sprucing up the classroom, yet the church was not open on Palm Sunday?

And even more amazing that a Baptist church was not open on Palm Sunday.

Exactly!!!!

Can someone tell me where to look for the info in regards to some charges that Melissa Huckaby denies are against her, but supposedly are against some other Melissa Huckaby?  She claimed that it's a different MH, but I thought I read that the cellphone numbers and a couple of other identifying pieces of info were exactly the same, sinking her false identification claim.

I could swear I read it here, but I'm not sure.

I think it was in a article posted.  It named the same cell phone and address, but she said it wasn't her and didn't know how that could happen.  According to the article, this 'MH' has a court date in late April on one of the charges.  It was posted here, I am pretty sure.   It also listed a county where the charges are pending.  I would like to see her mug shot if you find it.  I want to see this Sunday school teacher.

Very, and since the congregation is so small, I wonder how many kids attend this church?

From my experience in church, it's often one rule of thumb (not always) to take the number of the members and double it for the approximate number of children in attendance.  Of course there could be more or less, depending on the neighborhood the church is in.  Such as close to a school, or more for retired folks, etc.  So it wouldn't surprise me if there were about 30 kids at that church, more or less.

You are fast and great Muffybee!

this is where we should search.....

The complaint says she’s on probation in San Joaquin County and is due back in court on April 17, when she might be sentenced.

Does anyone have the link to that church handy?  There was a question asked about that site in the last thread that still has me thinking, and I can't find the link again.  Thanks!!

so you get a note that talks about a suitcase so you place on on your driveway???? She is making her cover story.

This is my thought on what happened. She had Sandra at her home, she drugged her and placed her in the suitcase, placed it infront on the driveway, either she took it to the church, it was on rollers after all, she leaves it with maybe williams then she goes back home. He does whatever. Or maybe she left sandra in the suitcase on the driveway and someone comes to pick her up.

She may have died in the suitcase because of drugs?

She is involved, that is clear.

I also wonder if she is talking about a letter given the news on the good friday killer from I think Texas. I read about it on CNN
