Hi all - my 1st post here!

So much information and many many good thoughts, ideas, theories from everyone . . . it is so helpful to have so many different minds & perspectives hashing all of this through - like a round table discussion of sorts.

Mr. Sheneman seems highly professional to me; I find myself feeling very respectful of him as he carefully and purposefully speaks. It would seem to me that he cannot tell the media everything yet, as there is still more police work to do.

I am going out on a limb.  It could be that I have been involved in the Natalee Holloway case way too long.

 

I am suspicious ... when I consider that there was no legal action by Tracy law enforcement against Melissa in regards to the drugging incident and ... when I consider there was no legal action by Tracy law enforcement against a Karate instructor in regards to inappropriately kissing a six year old Sandra Cantu on the lips.

Now Melissa Huckaby is being detained as the only suspect and ... unlike the Casey Anthony case ... the details are not being released to the public.

As an appeasement those who are demanding justice for Sandra Cantu ... could it be that there is a plan within law enforcement that implication will stop and end with Melissa Huckaby and ... the other persons of interest connected to Melissa and the church will become non-issues?

Could it be that a plea deal by law enforcement with Melissa Huckaby for her confession implies the consequences of her actions will encompasses an insanity defence?

In otherword ... could a child pornography ring in Tracy be very far reaching in regards to who is involved?

Yes, could very well be, because this is not adding up. The kissing incident, and the questioning of Melissa about drugging a seven year old, was it swept under the rug?

I believe that Melissa Huckaby unintentionally caused Sandra Cantu's demise through drugging but ... the drugging is not the whole picture.  I suspect that the whole picture involves those persons of interest who were connected to Melissa and the church.

I like Sheneman but sometimes he doesn't tell us what is really going on, likely due to the ongoing investigation.  I will be really surprised if this doesn't involve other people.

Sheneman appeared to be giving both Melissa and Clover Road Baptist Church credibility when he stated at least three times that Melissa was a Sunday School teacher.

Klaas ... we will have to agree to disagree ... I DO NOT like Sheneman.  I contend his press conferences only reveal a watered-down version of what has already been released to the media and ... nothing new.

I like the Sgt.
I think he has a hard job and doing the best he can do under the circumstances.
He's torn between protecting the investigation so Sandra Cantu and her family can get justice once this goes to trial and giving the community answers that they desperately want and deserve.

He's a member of that community, his children goes to Sandra's and her sister's school. He feels their pain and he is trying to do his best to answer what questions he can.

Considering the allegations that his position dictates he is privy to ... I can bet that Sheneman kids were never have been placed in Melissa Huckaby's Sunday School class or ... Frank Wohler's Karate class.  However ... there are unsuspecting parents out there who are entrusting their precious children to these two pedators.  Children are being put at risk.

If only Sandra Cantu's mother had been made aware that Melissa Huckaby had been questioned in a drugging incident that involved a child.  If only ...

I think it would be highly irresponsible of the Police Dept there to warn the porn ring and pedo's that they are investigating them and are coming after them.  IMO they are already shaken up and are probably packing up and going underground.  

Also, perhaps the reason that they are NOT saying that Melissa confessed is because she did (or they think she will in the near future)...and named others and they don't want them to be alerted and take off.

At the time Sandra became missing, Huckaby did go back inside (preacher's wife was home) to grab spare keys and took off in her SUV. Very possible soil samples on her tires and tire tracks at pond matched hers but that was not officially announced. The law enforcement did spend quite some time investigating Huckaby and her family's cars.

If she's involved in some underground porn or sex ring, just her arrest alone - confession or no confession - would be enough to scare the bejeebers out of the other members. She looks a bit too low-life to be associated with so-called higher-up people in positions of responsibility but maybe there's more than one group of sickos in that area.

I think the police are being very tight with the info so no defense lawyer can say they broke the rules or poisoned the jury pool and all that. And they just might have hopes of catching more perps.

Melissa Huckaby admitted publically to:

1) Owning the suitcase in which Sandra's body was found.

2) Seeing Sandra at the time she went missing (last known person to see her alive).

3) Going to the church during the time Sandra went missing.

4) Admitting she has frequented the dump site where Sandra's body was found in HER suitcase.

5) Having a note which details the exact location of Sandra's body.

6) Having no alibi at the time Sandra went missing unless she was seen at the church by someone else.

7.) Being questioned previously in regards to the drugging of another child.

Not that I want you to think I'm plotting the perfect murder here but what criminal is stupid enough to put their keys and cellphone (two very identifying items) with their murder victim? Either they want to be caught or somebody is setting them up to get caught.

Not that I want you to think I'm plotting the perfect murder here but what criminal is stupid enough to put their keys and cellphone (two very identifying items) with their murder victim? Either they want to be caught or somebody is setting them up to get caught.

With all she said to the press, she is pretty stupid or crazy.  She said to the press that she lost her cell phone and keys, then grandma called and said she found her keys.(I assume a lie)   My guess is that in her haste she threw the phone and keys in the suitcase, and forgot to take them out, if in fact they did find them in the suitcase.  She did say she used the spare keys. 

I do not believe she was killed in the trailer, if the grandma or grandparents were there.  I have heard they were not there, and neither was her daughter.  Something went on at the church, that is why it was searched again, I believe.  I believe that is the crime scene.

Also, wonder what time that bed or other evidence was removed from the church, and if the evidence was taken as a result of her confession (probably was).  That evidence would be needed to corroborate her confession.

Also, it was very telling that the monkeys picked up the grandmother's statement as to the "abused" and murdered.  She knows something for sure.

I totally agree with you Janet. It's scary.

The police can't go announcing to the public everyone they question or suspect of crimes. That pesky constitution can be a pain.

The police did investigate the kissing incident. They must have decided not to charge him for whatever reason.(I would have!)
If I was Sandra's parents, I sure would have let every parent in that park know about it, regardless.

They investigated the child being drugged and just because Melissa was questioned, doesn't mean she was guilty. (although I am sure she was) Why she wasn't charged? I don't know.
