A friend just sent me this
 Some of you might be old enough to  remember the Ross Sisters (I, of course, am far too young) who were popular in 1944.  Their act gets better as it progresses and you Will be amazed at how the sisters exit the stage at the end of their performance. Never underestimate a woman who can get both legs behind her head and wrap her feet around her face. (HINT: Watch past the first 50 seconds or so, then Whoa! Lookout!)

Wasn't sure where to post this, but this seems like as good a place as any for a public service announcement:

ATM Skimming - beware the fake card slot scammers



Can you spot the fake credit card slot on the photo above? Nope, it’s not easy. The credit card scammers (Dutch original) (aka skimmers) are getting very clever, so this is a public service announcement to advise everyone to watch out. Or to be doubly safe, don’t use your bank card to get cash in any machine outside of an actual bank premises, use a credit card (so at least your account can’t be cleared out).



Watch out for leaflet boxes next to ATM machines, unusual attachments, strange tiny holes (for the pinhole camera) and anything else suspicious. Apparently these scams are now growing in number all over the place.



This past weekend I went to use the local WaMu ATM to get some cash money. When I walked up to the ATM something struck me as funny…I couldn’t quite put my finger on it but the card reader didn’t look right, like it wasn’t completely attached. I grabbed and pulled at the card reader and, lo and behold, it came off! It was actually a card skimmer attached to the ATM…

I may be just a tad on the paranoid side, but when I'm in line at the grocery store and the next customer is crowding up on me or somebody's hanging out near the end of the checkstand, I NEVER, never, never use my ATM VISA or ATM Mastercard as an ATM card requiring me to input a PIN. I'll just use it as a credit card AND...

Speaking as one who used to work in retail and as a cashier, NEVER WALK AWAY FROM THE CHECKSTAND OR CASH REGISTER even after your transaction is completed until you see the cashier put your credit card slip inside his/her register. Too many times, they will let it sit out on the open counter or up above the drawer waiting until the next time they have to open that register drawer. This is unacceptable. Anyone can read the identifying info off that slip of paper or grab it the moment the airhead cashier looks away.

They will give you some bullcrap excuse about how the store keeps track of how many times their drawer opens (especially for "voids" - i.e., no cash or credit transaction) and they really would rather not have another useless drawer opening tagged onto their daily total, blah, blah...

They are being lazy or deceptive. If they'd done their job right, there wouldn't have to be an "extra" drawer opening. Sometimes, it's as simple as slipping the paper through a slot in the drawer or lifting the money tray and putting the credit receipt underneath. If they'd done that in the first place, you wouldn't have to stand there refusing to move along until your personal identity and credit card info are no longer on public view.

Don't be embarrassed to refuse to budge until they protect your identity and credit info. Don't allow the line to move at all until they do right by you. They're the ones who need to be embarrassed. Several times, the cashier would try to have a contest of wills with me but ultimately, if they want to do any more transactions from that register, they are going to put my credit slip away in a safe place.

You have to watch out for your own back these days.
