ARUBA: It's all about Natalee...we won't give up!

"Letter to the Editor" or their version of it from Amigoe...from someone in Curacao but a few things in it caught my eye, thought others might like to read it too.

Oil and gas, the motive?

Apparently. The characters speak for themselves. In the eighties, British Petroleum Co.. a seismic survey conducted in and around the waters of Bonaire and Curacao. We have had the honor drawings and reports to gain face, because then there was transparency, unlike the last fifteen years where non-disclosure, even for our elected representatives, the order of the day. The investigation showed that oil and gas are present, but at a depth of approximately 300 meters, if I'm not mistaken. Technically it was then possible to take out the oil, but world oil prices and operating costs made it impossible to get a profitable operation. In the year 2009, our current Prime Minister, the chairman of the foundation in charge of oil affairs, commissioned a ship in the region was to seismic surveys to conduct approach to Curacao and Bonaire in their order book to take along. Our Prime Minister has received that information, knew the ship was called, of which company was this ship and so on. Just great. The above was the commission chairman, representing approximately 1.6 million U.S. dollars or gold would cost. There was no money in the budget earmarked for this purpose. The foundation was broke. Protests against these plans and inhibited. In the States, the Prime Minister's questioned about this, taking hours remained deny such had ordered, a member of the States until her letter in his possession, read. The prime minister responded that it was unaware that the letter went to the States and they promised holy that it considered the official letter to the States would send, which seemingly has never been done. Suddenly the MinPres knew already that the University of Texas (Bush) a collective hole in the Caribbean would perform and that we could join in the amount of $ 180,000 and that amount we could pay in three installments. What a difference from the first bid. Ra, Ra, Ra. The government has been busy and a draft was hastily prepared for the foundation which is now a special or limited company should be. The incumbent president is of course director in place of Chairman and will be given the power to designate those soundings can do. In another draft law, the prime minister designated to approve this appointment. Oil sheiks will make their debut with us? No, thank God there are brave and principled members of the States that this will never afford. Article 1, paragraph 2 of two key international treaties, protects our people against this "Toko Toko' the practices and says that:" All peoples may, for their own ends, freely dispose of their natural wealth and resources, (but without prejudice any obligations arising out of international economic cooperation, based on the principle of mutual benefit, and international law). Under no circumstances may a people be deprived of subsistence. This latest brackets, parenthesis, we should damn well pay attention, it now appears that before the bear is our shot, former Prime Minister Ys, and De Jongh-Elhage or two and an apparent concessions granted to three companies without our parliament to be informed. At the insistence of some members of the States of the opposition parties, Prime Minister Emily de Jongh-Elhage finally, at their insistence, the States of the three, hands forward contracts invalid. Sad that the Prime Minister gave this all the names of both companies and signatories to clear, so that our MPs can not determine with whom they are completed. The prime minister relies on non-disclosure of the contracts. It may be, Bredero said. We can not forget that Curacao and Bonaire, the research budget of the University of Texas, hands and feet tied to its approval filled before the results can be made. This prohibition also applies to our state. The best form of clan Texas so that we can monitor and any exploitation of its oil and gas ound check and / or torpedo. Not to mention that Mr Ys is the one Mr. Ansary has brought over here and that Mr. Ansary both Banco di Caribe as Ennia purchased. Mr Ys was actually appointed him representative of his interests, for a salary of more than 50,000 guilders per month, with permission to the Prime Minister full and 24 hours a day for free advice. In "His oil and gas, the motif # 2 ', we look more closely at the interplay PdVSA to our refinery through BOO and American management, to set up. The road will be opened for Shell, not for the refinery, but for their coveted concession here for test drilling to be done. "Shell call a bati pa bai." Now Shell, using PAR and State Secretary Ank Bijleveld, sounding the bell, to come drill. I wish the administration PWFC strength with their genuine struggle for Curacao and the bread of their employees to come. Politicians 'lanta for di Sono'!

Blue Marlin bring platform to Curaçao

12 Aug, 2010, 08:07 (GMT -04:00)

Email dit artikel
Print dit artikel

Both Discovery Channel and History Channel had filmed the ‘Blue Marlin’ when it transported a gas refinery during an eleven-day trip in 2005.

WILLEMSTAD — The ‘semi submersible’ ship ‘Blue Marlin’ left the Far East months ago with an exceptionally huge cargo and has finally arrived at Curaçao. The ship transported a new drilling rig that is to be ‘unloaded’ this Sunday in Caracasbaai according to plan.

CPA and KTK counterpart Marcelino ‘Chonky’ de Lannoy stated unloading the platform is a complicated process that will take hours. Whether the unloading will actually take place on the planned day depends on the weather circumstances. The Caracasbaai has sufficient depth for the ‘Blue Marlin’ to sink below the water so that four KTK tugboats could tow away the drilling rig. De Lannoy states Curaçao really had to lobby in order to secure the order. “We had attended an exhibition in Athens last June where contacts were made with the shipping company Dockwise. At that time, the ‘Blue Marlin’ had already been under way with the new platform for some time, and the company was looking for a suitable location to unload the cargo.

Several countries had opted for the job, amongst others Trinidad and Tobago and Barbados. Eventually the choice was made for our island” says De Lannoy. The new platform named ‘Nobel Jim Bay’ will be towed to Boca Sami where it will remain moored for approx. four weeks. Subsequently, the ‘Nobel Jim Bay’ will be delivered to the Gulf of Mexico.

The local company Miami Divers International NV will perform the necessary underwater maintenance activities on the platform during its mooring period here. The platform will be equipped with extra underwater driving engines during aforementioned activities. De Lannoy states that the order was placed with Curaçao because there were various companies available locally who are specialized in performing specialist underwater operations. “One must also realize that this requires the specific deployment of certified divers, who for example can also perform welding activities” according to De Lannoy.

The ‘Blue Marlin’ and its sister ship the ‘Black Marlin’ are semi submersible ships that are used to lift and transport heavy cargos such as drilling rigs and even other ships. A drilling rig could weigh up to 30,000 tons. The ships have a centre of gravity of approx. 30 meters above the transport deck. The Marlins are each equipped with 38 cabins and offer accommodation for 60 people. On board, the crew can use the fitness room, sauna and swimming pool. The Dutch company Dockwise Shipping purchased the ships in 2001. The American Navy subsequently hired the ‘Blue Marlin’ to transport the cruise ship the USS Cole back to the US for repairs, after a suicide attempt had damaged the ship in Yemen. Towards the end of 2003, the ‘Blue Marlin’ underwent technical activities to improve the maneuvering possibility. After the adjustments, the ship was even able to transport a drilling rig weighing 60,000 tons. Both Discovery Channel and History Channel had filmed the ship when it transported a gas refinery during an eleven-day trip in 2005.

Bringing this over from the main case discussion thread because it had been followed here.  Thanks, Helen Back.

Hi monkeys,

Haven't been posting but still read to keep up.  This is OT, but a story that's fun for me.

Anyone remember Seisma Oil that relocated from Boca Raton, FL to ROOBA and became associated with Permian Asset Mgmt. (Lincoln Gomez)?

U.S. SECURITIES AND EXCHANGE COMMISSION
Litigation Release 21562 / June 18, 2010
Securities and Exchange Commission v. Seisma Oil Research, LLC (a/k/a Seisma Energy Research, LLC), Seisma Energy Research, AVV (a/k/a Seisma Oil Research, AVV), Permian Asset Management, AVV and Justin Solomon, Civil Action No. 5:10-CV-95 (NDTX)(June 16, 2010)
SEC Charges Fraud in International Sale of Texas Oil and Gas Investments

On June 16, 2010, the Securities and Exchange Commission filed suit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Lubbock Division, alleging that Justin Solomon of Deerfield Beach, Florida, and three affiliated companies fraudulently sold investments in Texas oil and gas projects to overseas investors. The defendants have offered to consent to a preliminary injunction against further fraudulent sales, the repatriation of any remaining investor assets, and other relief.

According to the Commission's complaint, since 2007, three companies Solomon controls — Seisma Oil Research, LLC of Boca Raton, Florida and two Aruban affiliates, Seisma Energy Research, AVV and Permian Asset Management, AVV (collectively, "Seisma") — have used high-pressure sales tactics to raise at least $25 million from more than 400 non-U.S. investors through the offer of units in six joint ventures, of which Seisma is the managing venturer. The ventures were supposed to purchase undivided working interest in oil and gas projects owned and operated by two unrelated Texas companies. According to the complaint, however, Seisma never acquired any working interest for two of the six ventures and has expended only $9.5 million of the funds raised toward acquiring interests on behalf of the ventures. The complaint also alleges that Seisma misrepresented or omitted material facts about the profitability and prospects of the oil and gas opportunities.

The Commission's complaint alleges that Seisma and Solomon violated Section 17(a) of the Securities Act of 1933 and Section 10(b) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 thereunder. The Commission's complaint seeks permanent injunctive relief, civil penalties and disgorgement of the proceeds of the fraud, as well as the agreed preliminary injunction, repatriation of all investor funds, an accounting and orders preserving documents.

The Commission acknowledges the assistance of the Financial Services Authority of the United Kingdom; the City of London Police; the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority of Germany; the Ontario Securities Commission; the Nova Scotia Securities Commission; and the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, Division of Securities.

Energy
Valero:To Make Decision On Restarting Aruba Plant In Dec Or Jan
By Naureen S. Malik

Published September 16, 2010
| Dow Jones Newswires
Print   Email   Share   Comments (0)   Text Size  NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- Valero Energy Corp.'s (VLO: 17.22 ,0.00 ,0.00%) chief executive said the company won't make a decision whether to restart its idled Aruba refinery, undergoing maintenance activity, until late 2010 or early 2011.

Maintenance activity is ongoing at the refinery and it will "probably be late December or January when we have to face [the] decision" to restart it, CEO Bill Klesse said at the Barclays Capital energy conference Thursday morning.

In early June, the independent refinery company had said a decision would be made soon after completing a 90-day turnaround, should it be profitable to do so.

The 235,000-barrel-a-day refinery was Valero's most profitable plant in the first quarter of 2009 but the company was forced to shut it that July when margins collapsed as the discount on heavy, sour crude narrowed versus the premium light, sweet crude.

The $50 million turnaround work announced this summer, which included upgrades to the large crude and coking units, was meant to make the plant more efficient.

Valero has been trying to find a buyer for the refinery for over a year. Other options the company is considering include a joint venture partner, supply agreement or operating agreement, Valero spokesman Bill Day said in an email Thursday.

Thanks, 2NJSons_Mom, for bringing my last post over.  For those who have been following the Seisma Oil scam, SEC finally files fraud suit in Lubbock, Texas, against Seisma and Permian Asset.

Evans and Enermax out of Texas are named in this suit as well, through their "joint venture" with Seisma.  What caught my eye is the fact that Seisma and Permian Asset (Lincoln Gomez) were using boiler room call centers in Costa Rica and Thailand.

Plans for direct gas pipeline from Venezuela

October 9, 2010, 15:16 (GMT -04:00)

ORANGE CITY - Water and energy within one year WEB can run entirely on gas. Netherlands and Venezuela are currently finalizing an agreement in principle to construct a direct pipeline between Punto Fijo and Aruba. This says Andin Bikker (PDR), chairman of the State Enterprises Commission fixed States. The fuel clause is already adjusted.

The committee visited yesterday WEB, where they were given presentations about the projects the company is currently working cap. "The plan to build a gas pipeline between Venezuela and Aruba, with the aim to allow WEB steps of heating oil to natural gas as fuel in an advanced stage," said Bikker. "During the last conference of the United Nations, the cooperation between the Netherlands and Venezuela approved. Now the details of the agreement in principle outstanding. If it all goes without delay then WEB within one year run on gas. "Bikker indicates that the price for the supply of natural gas 30 percent cheaper than heavy fuel oil.
"The fuel clause is therefore cheaper anyway than it is now", says Bikker. He warns, however, additional consumption due to lower rates. "It's like lending institutions to lower their mortgage rates, when people buy expensive homes instead of saving money. This must be prevented. "Bikker, we note, current pilot project WEB people aware of their consumption and how to reduce them by using such bulbs. The fuel clause is currently still an outdated formula. It dates back to 1964. Bikker: "My earlier suspicions were confirmed this. Since the formula for the fuel clause was drafted in 1964, there are obviously some adjustments, but basically, the formula remained the same. Thus does not take into account the efficiency of Recip engines and the proceeds of the windmills since then there have been. "Now WEB to the committee indicated that a proposal for a new formula that takes into account the recip engines and the proceeds of the windmills - which this year also a lot less than expected - on the government offered. According to WEB is however not the case that for decades would have paid too much for fuel clause, says Bikker. "The total amount in your account would remain the same anyway, since its costs must WEB it the length or the breadth to cover".

I have read it a couple times and do note the mention of Legacy.  I started to do more research on the subjects involved, but unfortunately it's time for me to call it a night.  I will have to resume in the morning.  I've only seen 3 miners come up and know I can't wait them all out.  G'nite. It appears that Tappel won this case.  The timing of his resignation and expiration of his contract with USI is within the same timeframe that Superior Offshore failed and Legacy started.  Interesting....I'm still looking at some things....

The San Antonio, Texas refining giant cited higher margins for diesel and better discounts for low-quality feedstocks, combined with higher volumes. Valero said it's on track to re-start its Aruba refinery in mid-December.

From this side of the field WEB Balashi in the pipeline which can then go under water to Venezuela.

ORANGE CITY - Tropical marine biologist Debrot Dolfi says a study to recommend to the environmental effects of the gas pipeline that the government intends to build between Venezuela and Aruba. This pipeline would be brought risk to marine life in the area.

Debrot, formerly director of the Curaçao and environmental Carmabi now linked to Wageningen University, says the underwater life between Venezuela and Aruba is unique. He did this in an interview with Radio Netherlands that the marine biologist also called for an investigation into environmental risks of the pipeline. Since he can, both the construction and later by the release of rust or paint, marine life is damaged or polluted. A preliminary study is therefore necessary, to find the best places for such an underwater pipeline with minimal damage to the environment. That there are risks for marine life and especially the coral is under Debrot because the waters between Venezuela and Aruba shallow. The depth in many places no more than 50 to 80 meters. Therefore, according to the marine biologist also plenty of marine life. The pipeline would be in deeper water, there were "cumulative" less risk because in deeper water are simply less life on the seabed.
