I don't remember reading when Silvetti became involved with Geolab.  Did I miss something?  In fact, I haven't read anything other than what has been presented here about the connection.

LEAD CONTRACTORS
A huge number of companies have been involved in installing the project. The lead contract for the upgrader facility was awarded to the Contrina consortium, comprising Brown & Root and Parsons of the USA, French companies Technip and Projecta and DIT-Harris of Venezuela. Alstom supplied gas turbines to power the pumps which send the oil along the pipeline to the upgrader. The main control systems for the project were supplied by Honeywell. The pipeline from Zuata to Jose was laid by Wilbros. Among the lesser contracts, Accenture, which was formerly known as Andersen Consulting, provided enterprise software.

COMPANY
Conoco and Maraven are the two partners in the joint venture. They have equal shares of the equity. Maraven is a subsidiary of Petroleos de Venezuela S.A (PDVSA).

Thanks.   I just didn't remember it.  Now I know why I haven't read anything outside of here....your links no longer work, so maybe there's been a cleanup over the length of time since 2002.  There is no mention of this affiliation on the current Silvetti Group site.

06 May 2008 - Upstream onLine by Tom Darin Liskey - Russian explorer Gazprom will use the newbuild jack-up rig Offshore Vigilant to probe a potentially prolific offshore project in Venezuela’s shallow water sector, sources at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston said. The rig – capable of operating in water depths of up to 350 feet – is being built at the Keppel AmFels shipyard in Brownsville, Texas, for Scorpion Offshore. Details about the length and day rate for the independent-leg, extended reach cantilever rig were not available. Scorpion officials declined to confirm that Gazprom will use the rig, saying only that it will be delivered to Venezuela. The proposed contract will last at least 11 months and generate some $72 million in revenues. The rig is scheduled for completion this year and should be delivered to Venezuela in the third quarter. Russia’s Gazprom wants a rig to explore the Urumaco 1 and Urumaco 2 blocks in the Gulf of Venezuela. PDVSA sources have said the Urumaco permits are expected to unlock significantly more than 1 trillion cubic feet of gas, based on seismic data. Meanwhile, Chevron is understood to be close to signing an agreement with Dallas-based Ensco for a jack-up to drill a well in Venezuela. Sources said the rig will probably come from the US Gulf of Mexico. The rig will be used to kick off exploration drilling in 2009 at the shallow-water Cardon 3 block. Moreover, the US supermajor has been leading an effort with other international oil companies including Spain’s Repsol YPF and Brazil’s Petrobras to share the rig. The Gazprom and Chevron acreage form part of the so-called Rafael Urdaneta project, which covers 30,000 square kilometres and, according to official reports, holds as much as 26 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.

Geolab Positioning Contract   07/05/2008
Veripos has been awarded a further three-year contract by Naples-based GeoLab Srl, one of Europe's leading turnkey offshore survey and construction support organisations, for provision of high-precision GNSS positioning services. The contract extends the relationship between the two companies following an earlier three-year agreement.

Under the new agreement, Veripos will continue to provide GeoLab with a full range of proprietary globalised satellite positioning facilities extending from its Standard GNSS augmentation service to its latest Ultra Precise Point Positioning (PPP) capability which ensures decimetre-level accuracies by minimising or removing all main GPS error sources.

Together with the supply of further LD2 integrated dual frequency mobile units, Verify QC software for real-time and post-processing of data and newly-developed interactive e-learning training modules, the facilities will collectively support operations of GeoLab's group-sourced subsea survey and DP support vessels operating from regional bases in Namibia, the UAE and West Africa in addition to Italy.

Commenting on the agreement, GeoLab's Managing Director Giovanni Ranieri said: "It marks a further important stage in our relationship with Veripos who continue to provide us with optimum levels of service and support together with particularly high levels of reliability and worldwide availability".

Responding, Veripos Managing Director Tony Leary said: "We are naturally delighted to continue our close working relationship with GeoLab by supplying what we believe to be an unrivalled quality and range of positioning services which we continue to refine and develop for the benefit of a growing number of offshore users worldwide

PDVSA awards Caribbean 2-D work to SCAN
Contracts, Tenders and Rates - August 17, 2007

SCAN Geophysical has announced that it has been awarded a contract from Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) for 4,400km of 2-D marine seismic data acquisition in the Caribbean region.

SCAN Resolution, currently conducting a series of seismic surveys in the region, is scheduled to acquire the PDVSA 2D programme.

“We are pleased to continue our working relationship with PDVSA,” said Stephane Touche, vice president and COO of SCAN. ”Being able to acquire both 2-D and 3-D programs at rates reflecting the current strong market with the same vessel and for the same company demonstrates SCAN’s success in achieving its dual goals of flexibility and efficiency.”
