Hey, last night texasmom & you posted stuff with Williams Companies, and I knew I had been looking at them the other day. I couldn't remember how I got there. Things get to be blurred somewhat.
Where is Lifesong?
Hope all is well.
2NJ... You are right it all gets very blurry after looking at so much data...I have researched Williams too....but don't remember why/how I got there!
I keep some things in documents, but not this one. It makes me feel better that you feel the same. Thought it was just me.
You do a phenomenal job, hotping. Don't let the b-stards get you down.

OK- hey wait a minute!
The "Big E" was a ship in that fishing copmany that Underwater Expeditions bought - NOT Legacy!
That message board that I think 2NJ posted here about their customers talked A LOT about this boat being retro-fitted from a fishing charter boat to a dive boat by Underwater Expeditions - the new Owner.
A rep from UE posted on that message board that it was still going to be used for fishing as well - and then they raised their charter rates thru the roof and lost a lot of customers.
So..................did Schaefer float yet another asset between some of his companies?

Captain Elliott’s sells fishing operations
By Hunter Sauls
The Facts
Published January 4, 2008
FREEPORT — As longtime owners of the charter fishing tour boats of Captain Elliott’s Party Boats pull out of the recreational fishing business —
the new owner, Underwater Expeditions, is baiting their hooks
.
Last January, the owners of Captain Elliott’s said they would be closing shop due to lack of profit and increased restrictions on red snapper fishing, their main attraction.
Since then, Kemah resident Louis Schaefer, chairman of Superior Offshore International Inc., a worldwide commercial diving company, has bought the two boats and is expected to close on a deal to buy the docks and buildings next month, said Casey Cundieff, vice president of Captain Elliott’s.
The first trip is scheduled for Jan. 18. They’ll be taking out the “Big E”, which can carry 105 people
, on a 52-hour tour out for yellow and black fin tuna, said ship captain and Freeport resident Robert Poulsen.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Poulsen said.
---
Casting a wide net
“We want to build recreational fishing as a major industry here in Freeport,” said Evonn Caraway, Underwater Expeditions office manager.
While Captain Elliott’s dedicated their boats to fishing tours, Caraway said they are going to tailor their cruises to what their clients have in mind.
“We’ll be doing spear fishing, scuba diving, kayak shuttling and our main focus — offshore fishing,” Caraway said. “We’re not worried about the red snapper limits. So far, we’ve had no problems filling our books up.”
Not only will Underwater Expeditions be using the same boats and facilities as Captain Elliott’s, but they already have added another to the fleet, a 32-foot catamaran, and plan to add more, she said.
“We have the same captains, deckhands and everything, just new owners and new management,” she said.
They also held onto L.A. Cuban, the walking Rolodex of Captain Elliott’s. She has worked every position in the company since her first day in 1988.
“I know all the regular customers,” Cuban said with a smile.
The four-fish limit on red snapper per person, a federal regulation, is not a major concern for Underwater Expeditions, she said. Only a few of the dozens of clients who have called or made reservations have even mentioned the fish, Caraway said.
“To me grouper is better meat than snapper anyway, it’s lighter and less gamey,” Caraway said as she stood out on the docks near the 87-foot “Capt. Casey”, their older fishing boat,
and the 133-foot “Big E”, the longer, sleeker 2005-model vessel.
“Most people come out to fish whatever is in season.”
---
‘X’ marks the spot
Schaefer is not stopping there. He has also purchased the Bed and Breakfast next door to the docks, and the purchase of a new “expedition” ship is in the works, said Underwater Expeditions operations manager Jamie Stovall.
“If we’re going to do this, we’re going to do it right,” Stovall said. “We’re really excited about this acquisition.”
Until Underwater Expeditions can get a hold of their own boat, Schaefer is financing expeditions on other boats. One such expedition is currently out in Caribbean waters off Aruba looking for the remains of Natalee Holloway, an Alabama high school senior whose 2005 disappearance became a media sensation.
“We are also going to explore some sunken shipwrecks — for treasure,” Stovall said.
These expeditions are an interesting part of this investment, but not very profitable, Stovall said. The charter tour operations should make Underwater Expeditions break even, at least, he said.
“Louis believes that having fun in work is bigger and better than money,” Stovall said. “This isn’t a have-to business.”
---
Sailing to fairer seas
Even though the Big E and Capt. Casey have been sold to Schaefer, Captain Elliott’s Party Boats lives on as the parent company of Texas Crew Boats, Cundieff said. His father, Elliott Cundieff, started Captain Elliott’s in Freeport more than 30 years ago.
“As far as getting back in the fishing business, it doesn’t look like that will happen anytime soon,” Cundieff said.
In the meantime, the Cundieff family will be busy in their more profitable venture, Texas Crew Boats. The company’s seven, soon to be nine, $2 to $5 million boats ferry passengers, supplies, water, fuel and groceries out to offshore oil field workers, Cundieff said.
“The beauty part of the operation is they pay for the fuel and oil of our boats for each day we work,” he said. “So long as the jobs are steady, things are going well.”
Cundieff said he was relieved when Schaefer bought the recreational fishing boats. He didn’t see any profit in it.
“It was no secret that it wasn’t going well. Maybe he thinks he can do different stuff with it and make money,” he said. “The recreational fishing business is just too seasonal — I think we got lucky someone was willing to buy. I hope they’re able to maintain it.”
Until a deal is done on the docks, Cundieff said he would tie his personal fishing boat there. Afterward, he said he assumes he’ll be paying Underwater Expeditions monthly rent to leave his boat at the dock his family has owned for three decades.
“That’s going to feel a little strange,” he said.

OIL PRODUCTION
The field will be developed using a spar with slots for eight dry-tree wells and the flexibility to accommodate future subsea tie-backs. In 5,610ft of water, this spar will be the world's deepest dry-tree platform. It will also use a 94ft-diameter truss configuration and will have the flexibility to accommodate future subsea tiebacks. The spar will be able to produce up to 60,000 barrels of oil per day.
The
J Ray McDermott affiliate SparTEC
will act as general contractor and overall project manager for the design engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning of the facilty. Detailed engineering of the hull-mooring and topsides will be completed in Houston.
The hull will be fabricated at the company's Batam Island facility in Indonesia, while the topsides will be prefabricated in Mexico at the company's TNG shipyard, then assembled and outfitted at McDermott's Harbor Island fabrication yard, based near Corpus Christi, Texas. Work at Harbor Island will be completed under a strategic alliance with Bay Limited.
McDermott's Mentor Subsea Technology Services subsidiary will design and procure risers, while the company's marine division has been mandated responsibility for offshore installation, hookup and commissioning.

The resume posted by KTF mentioned Bisso Marine.....while researching recently, I happened upon Bisso, but cannot remember how or why I ended up there. While trying to trace my steps (unsuccessfully), I found this article, which stood out for obvious reasons, but I cannot link it to Superior Offshore, et al.

Bisso Marine Salvages Superior Challenger
By Staff
Publication: Construction News
Date: Monday, April 5 2004
Bisso Marine Company, Inc. successfully completed the salvage of the Superior Challenger. The 200-foot Class Lift Boat sank in Eugene Island Block 193 after Hurricane Bill passed through the Gulf of Mexico. Sea conditions of four to six ground swells were causing the vessel to oscillate and the Superior
Challenger went down.
The vessel's dimensions are 117 feet in length by 68 feet in width with a hull depth of 13 feet. Salvage crews arrived at the site to find the starboard stern planted firmly on hard bottom in 92 feet of water. The port bow corner was extended 20 feet above the water with a 100-ton crane exposed above the water surface. The 140-foot port bowleg and pad were attached and extending out below the hull. The leg had to be cut to allow the pad to drop to the natural bottom to reduce the oscillating of the hull.
Bisso completed both an underwater electronic survey and dive survey to facilitate a salvage plan designed so the jacking towers would realize a minimum amount of stress during the lifting process. Once rigging was completed the 600-ton Derrick Barge Lili Bisso and Derrick Barge Big Chief were brought into position and hooked to the specially configured rigging.
The Superior Challenger was delivered to the owners' upright and afloat in the Port of New Iberia.

VENEZUELA: The first well drilled by US oil major Chevron (NYSE: CVX) on its Cardon III offshore block in the Gulf of Venezuela was dry, an industry source told BNamericas.
The well was recently drilled to a total depth of 9,000 feet (2,743 m), according to the source.
Chevron declined to comment on specific results from the well when contacted by BNamericas. "We are still evaluating the results of Cardon III," a Chevron spokesperson said.
While a dry hole will likely be viewed as a major setback, the Cardon III block is large and could still have large natural gas reserves.
"Such news would mean little relief for western Venezuela's widening gas deficit," an industry analyst said. "But these are also large blocks, so it may take more than one well to conclude that there are no hydrocarbons present."
Chevron said earlier in the year that it would drill one well on Cardon III during 2009, according to a 10-K filed with US securities regulator SEC in February.
The company holds a 100 percent stake in the block, and industry analysts expected the first well to cost around US$30 million. Canadian oil junior PetroFalcon (TSX: PFC) announced in January that it was opting out of its 30 percent share of the well due to market conditions.
Chevron won the block in 2005. European oil majors Repsol YPF (NYSE: REP) and Eni (NYSE: ENI) won the nearby Cardon IV block with 50 percent stakes each.
The blocks are in relatively shallow waters, 30 km (18.6 miles) west of the Paraguaná refinery complex in Venezuela's Falcón state.
Chevron began seismic studies over the Cardon III block in 2007
and secured a jackup rig from Ensco International (NYSE: ESV) last year. Ensco is one of several contractors in Venezuela to suffer recently from payment disputes with Venezuela's state oil company PDVSA.

Chevron: 3D Seismic Shot on Cardon 3, Drilling Next
BNamericas|
Friday, April 27, 2007
US oil major Chevron (NYSE: CVX) has finished shooting 530 sq km of 3D seismic data on the Cardon 3 offshore block in western Venezuela.
Chevron is working with Canadian oil and gas independent PetroFalcon (TSX: PFC) and soon will start a drilling program on Cardon 3, Chevron E&P Latin America head Ali Moshiri told BNamericas.
"Now we are going through the interpretation phase to see if we can find a good prospect and after that we go ahead and begin development," he said.
Operators will drill one well as part of the development phase this year, Moshiri said.
Chevron holds a 70% interest in Cardon 3 and PetroFalcon the balance.
Chevron won Cardon 3 in 2005 as part of the Rafael Urdaneta project with a US$5.6mn bid.

I found it 2NJ... Williams Company
Major Customers and Concentration of Credit Risk
Our customers consist primarily of integrated and independent crude oil and natural gas exploration and production and gathering and transmission companies. The capital expenditures of our customers are generally dependent on their views of future crude oil and natural gas prices and successful offshore drilling activity. We perform ongoing credit evaluations of our customers and provide allowances for probable credit losses when necessary.
Our two largest customers for the year ended December 31, 2005 were El Paso Corporation and one of its subsidiaries, Southern Natural Gas Company. Our three largest customers for the three months ended March 31, 2006 were Southern Natural Gas Company, Williams Companies and Energy Partners, Ltd. No other customer accounted for more than 10% of our revenues for either period.
