Does anyone else remember seeing Andrea Yates and Susan Smith out shaking their groove things after they killed their kids??? I don't. Not saying any one of them is better than the other. Just saying Casey is a different creature entirely.

I had reason to be in the court room several times during Andrea Yates trail..I have never seen a more pitiful person in my life. That woman was truly mentally ill and IMO she should never have been tried. She should have  been committed to a mental institution (which of course she eventually was). The times I saw her I do not believe she had any real comprehension of the happenings around her. Her attorney, George Parnham was amazing.....and this case  cost his health. IMO Rusty Yates should have been charged with abuse and anything else in the law books that could be applied to him. What a poor excuse for a human being. As well as her doctors and insurance company...oh mercy don't let me get started on either of those!!

KC has exhibited none of the post partum symptoms that were discussed in depth in this trial. She is just plain EVIL.

Oh, wow, I so agree, I don't want to get started about what I think of Rusty Yates, and to think he has a new child and wife......

Another note, psychotic people, including mothers with post partum psychosis do not try and conceal evidence.  Skank had a history of lying, cheating and stealing.  It's only evident now that she was like this because she is now caught.

There is no way I see George going back in there for the deposition again, there will be some kind of mental issue again, this time over the death penalty being put back on the table, he is all upset because of that.

Hope they left the light on at the Hawaiian Motel.

Not only that, they probably still have George's pillow and blankie all ready.

How did the Anthony family react when the state decided to seek the death penalty for Casey Anthony?

WKMG-Channel 6 read a statement this afternoon that Brad Conway, the attorney for George and Cindy Anthony, had e-mailed to media:

"The state's decision to seek the death penalty will not change the support and love the Anthonys have for Casey. Casey Anthony, like all other defendants, is entitled to the presumption of innocence. If the state can overcome that presumption before a jury of 12 of Casey's peers, the Anthonys will then begin to to deal with the potential sentence."

WKMG's Jessica D'Onofrio read the statement and promised more reaction in later newscasts.

But WESH-Channel 2's Bob Kealing talked to "a number of people" in the Anthony camp.

"The family's clearly in shock but they're not completely surprised," Kealing said. "They're resigned to seeing this process through to the finish. The Anthony family is also hopeful that even if Casey is convicted, which is not at all a certainty, that the death penalty will not be imposed."

Kealing talked to Thomas Luka, attorney for Lee Anthony.  "He is probably in shock and horror, as well as the rest of his family, that the state is actually pursuing this case to this level."

Anthonys Hopeful Death Penalty Wouldn't Be Imposed
Sources Say Family Surprised, Not Surprised Over Monday's News

ORLANDO, Fla. -- After speaking with a number of sources from within the Anthony camp, the family is in shock but not completely surprised at this week's decision by prosecutors to seek the death penalty against Casey Anthony.

They're resigned to seeing the process through to the finish. The Anthony family is also hopeful that, even if Casey Anthony is convicted, that the death penalty will not be imposed.

Casey Anthony is at the Orange County Jail charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.

The attorney for Lee Anthony, Casey's brother, said he did not expect the state attorney's office to make this move given the evidence that's been made public. He described what his client is going through.

"He is probably in shock and horror as is the rest of his family that the state is prosecuting the case to this level," Thomas Luka said.

Luka is a former prosecutor who has tried a death penalty case. He's expecting it to take up to two months just to pick a jury now that it's a death penalty case. That would be twice the amount of time prosecutors originally estimated the entire trial would last.
