Reporter Scambati (sp) suggested that it's possible the police were hoping to find Tori, before the arrests became public.

They described the woman as white, 19 to 25, about 5'1" to 5'2" and 120 to 125 pounds.
She has long straight black hair past her shoulders, worn in a ponytail and was wearing a white puffy winter jacket and tight black jeans.

Sue Scambati CP24 t.v. just said that she will be bringing a video soon, =(perps appeared in a courtroom this a.m.)
The male perp's head was covered and the female was described as a large white woman with corn row hair style.
Did the woman on the abduction video look large?  - anyway - apparently the connection to the family was to the drug oxycontin, according to Scambati's (sp) report.  Unknown what the charges are.  Police Presser @ 3:00 p.m.

I thought that the woman on the video looked small...

I believe the discription was 5'...that was the reason everyone said Tara wasn't the perp, she was too tall.  Going back to look...
Yes, I though woman on video was small, so I am confused.

There's live streaming video at this link at the bottom.  I'm at work and can't have the volume on but it looks like they are talking about Tori.

Something about neighbours...

Thanks lovin.  I wonder if it is a sex ring.  Would really like clarification on size of arrested female.

BTW CP-24 said they will be updating on their website all day.  I expect the video that Scambati is getting together will be there.
I might try to get there...not to savy about such things.

lfp plans to do an update at the top and bottom of every hour
- broadcasting live
- too much feedback from sound
- new info, ppl deployed in woodstock, feeding that info
- 1 major thing . house on wilson .. reported earlier that police had descended on house about a block away ..neighbours of that house reported to LE something suspicious going on .. and that the arrests were made shortly after that
- slowly picture is emerging about how LE found out about people on wilson st & how that lead to an arrest - sounds like it happened quickly
- unknown if LE already were monitoring the house
- man & woman arrested - still in court as far as they know
- know woman , according to neighbours ,looks like comp sketch & also know that the woman is not tara's friend SL
- was lots of speculation around SL, but it is not TM friend SL
- woman arrested does look like sketch
- lots of chat ppl asking if they are looking for body & if tori is alive, dont have anwers
- will have twitter updates throughout the day
- if something does turn up in guelph, they will send someone to guelph from woodstock
- they dont know what the charges are let, will let us know when they know
- leaving live stream on so they can update at any time
- LE press conference is at 3pm, not 2pm - they will bring that press conference live at 3pm
- guelph search - not confirmed yet, some ppl say they havent seen police prescence there .. they 'heard' police searching near guelph
- will be updated again at 10:30

Police make arrests in Tori Stafford case

Updated: Wed May. 20 2009 8:34:39 AM

ctvtoronto.ca

Two people have been arrested in connection with the case of missing 8-year-old Victoria "Tori" Stafford, according to reports.

The Woodstock, Ont., girl went missing on April 8 and was last seen walking away from her school with an unidentified woman.

Police sources close to the case confirmed a man and woman were arrested last night but released few details about the charges they are facing -- or the identities of the suspects.

Authorities are expected to release details of the arrest at 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Sources say the suspects in custody are not the girl's parents, according to crime reporter Sue Sgambati. However, police say they are known to Victoria's family.

Police believe Victoria was abducted for "sexual purposes" and investigators are now looking for the child's body near Guelph, Ont., Sgambati told CTV's Canada AM in an interview from Woodstock.

"This was an opportunistic crime, described to me by sources as a worst-case scenario," she said. "Police are looking for Tori's body as we speak outside of this jurisdiction."

Although the suspects know Victoria's parents, police don't believe they knew who their daughter was at the time she was kidnapped, Sgambati said.

"I think there's a lot of shock, even among law enforcement," said Sgambati.

A call to the Oxford Community Police in Woodstock by ctvtoronto.ca went unanswered by press time.

Investigators have previously released a composite sketch of a suspect but despite a number of tips from the public, have failed to locate
any trace of the child.

Yes - it was deafening Edward.
I would still like to know what charges the couple were arrested on.
Seems some neighbors reported suspicious activities.  Don't know if that was a key lead or whether the police were already focused.
Just a block away from Tori's home.  Oh, if one could only go back in time.

Michael Allen Rafferty and Teri Lynn McLintock (sp)
lfp just announced the suspects

The man was charged with abduction and first degree murder.
The woman was charged with abduction and accessory to murder (after the fact)

I believe that's what was said.

so, it's true then? that they did murder this innocent little child?? A child who was living her life, loving her family, innocently leaving her school, just being a little kid?
I am sorry, but when ever I hear about such awful things, it is difficult to keep faith...for me anyway...
I hope that these 2  die a horrible death...
I am so sick about this...
