I agree Edward. Although I know we aren't here for a pat on the back, it is nice to know that sometimes we're on the correct path.  This case has stunk from day one IMO. 

If they are charged with murder, they must know that Tori is no longer of this earth.  If Tori is in God's hands now I can be comforted by that.  Now justice must prevail.

The station also reported that “police sources” say that the girl's abduction was not a random act but being viewed as an "opportunistic crime" and Tori may have allegedly been sought for "nefarious" or sexual purposes.

A police source told Sun Media that they are following leads in their search for the girl, but are "preparing for the worst."

Tori and mom moved in just one week earlier .. These 2 people, befriended the family and planned a professional, flagrant "In Your Face" kidnap of a innocent little girl for the purpose of sexual gratification..
and lived only 2 blocks away..
That is arrogance indeed...

There must be drug use in the middle of this ?

But it was not some world wide kidnapping ring.. Something to learn from when we look at other cases..
Very Sad.. Just like in Sandra's case it was somebody they knew..

WOODSTOCK — The investigation into little Tori Stafford's disappearance has now become a murder case before the courts.

A man and a woman arrested in the disappearance of the eight-year-old girl appeared in court in Woodstock this morning, charged with abduction and murder.

Charged are Michael Thomas C.S. Rafferty, who faces counts of murder and abduction, and Terri Lynn McClintic, who is facing counts of abduction, accessory to murder after the fact and helping Rafferty to escape authorities.

It was not immediately clear where the two accused live.

The fate of the eight-year-old Woodstock girl is still not known, although there are media reports police are searching for a body in the Guelph area.

Edward...I am not handling this one too good...the mere fact that it was planned, seeing someone leading Tori away from her school...the implications of what this kidnapping means...it is really really hard to handle...

The fact that they referred to it as a case like the Paul Bernardo and Carla Homolka cases is what got to me and started the tears.  I'm in the area where Paul Bernardo was and this city still feels the effects.  To think of another child going through what happened to Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffey makes me sick to my stomach.

The neighbor who lived next door to her and called in the tip to police said Terri said she cut her hair recently because "bubblegum" got stuck in it.

As many of you I was hoping and praying this would end differently. Please keep the updates coming. I am just sick another little girl.....I just can't stand it

 It was reported on CP24 that it is believed that Tori was murdered on April 8th, the day she was abducted.

it breaks for Tori and what she must have went through and it breaks for her family for all they have been through and what faces them going forward.

The Wilson Street home is four or five blocks from Frances Street, where Tori had moved with her mother, Tara McDonald, and older brother one week before her April 8 abduction.

McClintic's charge is in connection with knowing about the homicide and "enabled him (Rafferty) to escape," the documents said.


According to Global Toronto, Rafferty broke down sobbing in court early Wednesday and said: "I didn't do it."


The pair were arrested after midnight at a rundown house in Woodstock.

I am compartmentalizing as best I can to deal with the news received today to the best of my ability.  So, I'm curious to know more of the Canadian judicial system as I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know much of my northern neighbors even though it's about 50 miles from me "as the crow flies".  I found this link http://www.law.harvard.edu/library/research/guides/int_foreign/canada/index.html if anyone is interested in doing some reading on the subject.  I am also interested in what our Canadian monkeys have to say regarding this issue. 

I am also curious if some facebook members have access to comments being left on Tori's facebook site.  In a town of 36,000 there must be people who know these scumbags.

Oh my God, I thought maybe these two evil freaks might have been keeping her alive for awhile. I'm not familiar with Canadian laws, but I sure hope they are kept away in a jail cell for life, unlike what happened with Karla H.

Tori's body was found late this morning north of Guelph in Rockwood along the Wellington Road 27-area.  Police have not yet confirmed those reports.
