8 Year Old Victoria “Tori” Stafford Missing Since 4/8/09 in Ontario, Canada

The murder charges for both specifically say for the murder of Tori Stafford on April 8 , 2009.  Reporters are saying to be that specific on the charges that the OPP has known for some time and have been waiting on enough evidence to bring down the charges.

WOODSTOCK, Ont. -- Two people have been charged with the abduction and murder of eight-year-old Victoria "Tori" Stafford.

Both made brief court appearances in a Woodstock court this morning to be arraigned on charges relating to the police investigation that started when Stafford was reported missing on April 8.

Teri Lynn McClintic is charged with abducting Stafford from her parents Tara McDonald and Rodney Stafford. She was also read charges of assisting Michael Thomas C. S. Rafferty in escaping the area.

Rafferty was read charges of having abducted Stafford, and then, in Woodstock or elsewhere in Ontario, having murdered her. McClintic was read a third charge of having been an accessory to murder after the fact.

Security at the Oxford County Court House was high for the accused's first appearance. McClintic was read her charges first, appearing in the basement courtroom dressed all in black with her hair in braids. She remained composed as her charges were read.

Rafferty was visibly upset as he entered the courtroom, exchanging glances with his mother who was seated in the front row. Prior to the arrival of the justice of the peace, Rafferty broke down and began crying.
   

When he stood to have his charges read and was asked if he understood his charges, he said “yes” through tears.

McClintic is listed as a resident of Wilson Street, Woodstock, where a couple of Oxford Community Police Service cruisers were standing guard Wednesday. Rafferty is listed as a resident of Tennyson Street, Woodstock.

Rodney Stafford just outside police station .  Very distraught.  Went inside to speak with police.  May speak later but too distraught to speak now.

Michael Thomas Rafferty  28 - charge with murder and abduction. 

While police walked Rafferty to the police van one of Tori Stafford's uncles swore and lunged at suspect.  Had to be restrained by police

Terri-Lynne McClintic 18 - charged with kidnapping and accessory to murder.  Knowing that the murder had taken place she assisted Rafferty in escaping.

Both being held in London Ontario after today's court appearance.

Guelph is predominantly farming community.  They just showed a OPP chopper waiting to commence search for remains.  They have not found the remains yet.

The fact that they referred to it as a case like the Paul Bernardo and Carla Homolka cases is what got to me and started the tears.  I'm in the area where Paul Bernardo was and this city still feels the effects.  To think of another child going through what happened to Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffey makes me sick to my stomach.

It is sickening...and so was the sweetheart deal Karla rec'd from the crown.
My friends and I agreed @ the time...it changed the way we raised our teenaged daughters.  The Scarborough Rapist (later known to be Bernardo)- stalked and viciously raped
girls in Scarborough, before meeting Karla Homolka.  She became his trolling partner.  The first death was that of Karla's little sister, in the Homolka family home.  A death that was thought to be accidental @ the time.  Homolka used the drugs she stole from the vet.  clinic where she worked, to subdue her sister for their sick pleasure.

Tori's alleged perp. and abductor is charged with accessory to murder after the fact. 
She'll be out on the streets in a few years just like Homolka. 
It makes me angry...she took the little girl in the first place!!!!

Tori's body was found late this morning north of Guelph in Rockwood along the Wellington Road 27-area.  Police have not yet confirmed those reports.
