This is horrid. We are all talking about it at work. Well, mostly me.
Why wasn't the woman charged with kidnapping ? Tori left the school with the woman. The Justice Dept. here better not make any "deals" with this lady or there will be rioting in Canada on the streets. And we have different laws, no sunshine laws, so very little will come out until the trial. And we have no Death Penalty.
Twenty five is the maximum unless declared a habitual. Sometimes they "gate"  them and figure out some NEW charges on their way out.

The one with the tattoos on his arm I believe.  It was stated at the same time they were showing his images.

It's short form for Laugh out Loud. 

I believe No Rose was asking about the "C.S" in the name.

I was, thanks. So McClintic lived with her mom and Rafferty lived with his mom, has there been something that I may have missed, how these two got together?

Nothing as of yet.  According to neighbours McClintic only lived there for 2 months.

They have not.  Newsnet was just saying that both may possibly be known by Tori's mom but had no confirmation.

Kat_Gram great explanation.  As Kat explained, there will be little to nothing reported about evidence or the trial.  25 years max if this is first time for either.  Habitual offender has to go through many hoops and granted by a judge before they are given that status.  Nothing like the 3 strikes in Cali.

Sue Sgambati reported earlier that it is believed the connection was with oxycontin and also that the abductor knew of the family but did not know Tori or that she was part of that family.  Sgambati keeps saying this is an opportunistic abduction.

But, I have also heard Tori was targeted....go figger

A neighbour of the accused couple on Wilson St. in Woodstock admitted to CityNews that he had suspicions about them for quite some time, and even called police at one point to express his concern.



"We got close to them to get information from them," said Craig Mancini. "We were always back and forth talking to them, she was nice and wanted to do our laundry and stuff. I would actually go into the basement, and my girlfriend would say 'look in the basement and see if there's anything in there.'"

Conference will only be for media and police officials, No family.

Rockwood  Ontario is where the search for remains have moved to.  Rafferty used to live not far from there.  Police has interviewed former neighbours and landlord.  Rafferty Moved Feb 2008 to Woodstock.  Rafferty originally from Newfoundland.  Reporters going to actual search location which is just outside of Rockwood.  Still nothing to confirm remains have been found.  20 officers, sniffing dogs and chopper are at staging area for search right now.

    Is there a suggestion that perhaps Tori's mom was buying drugs from one or both of the suspects? If so the guilt and heartbreak must be completely overwhelming. My heart goes out to all of Tori's family and little friends

Since the female is not charged with murder but conspiracy to murder after the fact...I don't believe for a minute that she will get 25 years.
25 years is the MAX.
They will be eligible for parole. 
Unless the male is declared a dangerous offender - a rare happenstance.

I believe the parole cuts 1/3 off the time. 

This was a huge issue when Homolka was up for parole.  Citizens so outraged...wanted her to serve her complete sentence - a mere 12 years.
Corrections Canada seems to think that if a person is out on parole, they can be monitored to some extent...transition back into society...

All too liberal for my mindset...particularly when it applies to such heinous crimes.

Another tragic fragmented family here. Rob McClintic, had seen video but did not recognize his daughter in the video. He had not seen her for 10 - 12 years. Terry-Lynne was adopted, Birth mother was stripper who put Rob on birth certificate as father, his then wife (also a stripper) and him adopted Terry-Lynne. They separated and he now lives on east coast.

Rafferty, an old girlfriend (Jennifer from 3 yrs ago) said he was likeable decent guy but started stealing from her (small claims court he had used her debit card to steal from her) some sexual deviance in relationship she would not allow. Jennifer's daughter was 2 1/2 yrs old at the time.
McClintic had lived in Guelph for some time. They met on internet.

I wonder if this was the woman in the video, could have been someone else? Maybe that is why she was not charged with kidnapping?
I suppose what the woman in the video could have been telling tori if she minded if she walked along with tori...This is a sad day
