Hello Boo my most favorite sister!   Since talking to him may end up in a shouting match, or you hitting him, I would first call the drivers license bureau within the county he is a resident and let them know of your concern and see what help they could offer if any.  If that fails, I would seek out the help of someone he admires or looks up to such as a paster, psychiatrist, doctor, attorney, and or sibling - voice your concerns to them and ask that they speak with him about this.
For the oxygen tank situation I would most definantly contact his doctor and let them know that you are in fear of his life, mention the driving as well...quite possibly he/she deals with other situations like this and could point you in a direction that would help!!

Love ya!!!

But you are my most favorite Mom!!

But I knitted you socks and everything!  And Janet already has grandchildren.

Oh, well.  Guess there is always my grandpups.

We have decided on a few name choices for our son.  After giving the hubs more ideas last night when Sunny sparked the naming session, hubs finally came to a decision that narrowed things down.  Here are the name combo's and I would love to hear some feedback.  (We try to think of how a child could be teased based on their name..so let me know what you think is less of a hardship for a child to bear)

Jordan Riley
Matthew Riley
Noah Riley
Benjamin Riley

Riley is for sure the middle name we will be going with, its a mixture of both Grandfathers names. Smile  Any help is much apreciated!!!!!

Old stubborn men have been known to drive without their license, too.

I think reminding him that he will lose everything he owns in a lawsuit if he has a wreck and it's his fault is good.  They don't tend to like that idea.

But if he even thinks about driving without his license, I'd call the cops in a heartbeat.  They will likely just bring him home anyway, won't actually take him to jail, etc.

My mother has Alzheimer's but she can't see well enough to drive thank heavens!  And she'd forget where she was going any way.

I got a problem that I need some Monkey help with. Just got off the phone with my sister and she was telling me about an issue with my father.

My father and his girlfriend went over my sister's house for Easter and she was telling her that she is afraid to drive anywhere with my Dad anymore. My Dad is 80 and has a few drinks in the evening, then drives. Apparently he's not using his oxygen tank as much as he told us either, he takes it off early and tools around town without it. This too depletes the much needed oxygen to the brain.

I have no idea on how to approach this with him. He was a terrible driver to begin with, honestly I don't know how he still has a license to drive!!! I'm so afraid that I'm going to get a phone call from the police department telling me, he's in jail for drunk driving, he killed someone or he killed himself!!! BTW, I am the black sheep in the family so I have to think of a "round about" way to get this message across. Hopefully I will get some good monkey ideas!! My tactic is to give him a good slap in the face and tell him I'm calling the cops on him, but I hear that doesn't go over well with the elderly.
Boo we had the same problem with my Grandmother (except she didn't drink). Talk to his doctor and let him know what is going on. My Grandmother's doctor told her she couldn't drive anymore and if she did she would probably end up killing a child on the street. That made her give up her keys and car for good. I will pray for you and your dad.

Boo, I would talk to his Doctor about it and see if you can get his drivers license revoked.  Your Dad will be mad but a life may just get saved (including his) so It will be worth it.

I would try this first!!  If it doesn't work, disable his car!!

sneaky as can be but also highly effective!

im really sorry to hear about your dads problems boo, id have to agree with mt...call his doctor and explain the situation and your concerns. then disable his car:

That's a nice list of boys names Dolce.    However, I know of 3 girls named Jordan, and one does spell it "Jordyn", and her family owns a women's clothing shop called "Jordyn's Closet".   I used to think of Jordan as a boys name, but these days, not so much.

I hereby dub thee Auntie Mytime!

I never gave him the Steele Riley option, and he said it sounded like a very bad male porn name.    I did not ask him how he would know, just gave him the evil eye.

Oh!!  You raise a very good point!!  My hubs loves the name Benjamin, but that is my youngest brothers name, and my youngest brother made it known he did not apreciate us stealing his name.......hubs said that he would just have to be a big boy and get over it. LOL

Another very good point Muffy, and I told hubs that I liked the name Jordan for a girl more than a boy and he gave me a weird face.  I grew up with a boy named Jordan and the kids called him Jordy...always reminded me of a pig for some reason.

My tactic is to give him a good slap in the face and tell him I'm calling the cops on him, but I hear that doesn't go over well with the elderly.

Oh don't pop your dad or he'll really get you.I do understand the thought though. My Dad is stubborn too.
Call his doctor and explain about the oxygen problem. This will also impair his thinking if he goes without it.Tell on him for drinking.See what he recommends first.
By all means disable the car.If he does take off in the car while drinking call the law.I've done it to family members myself. You can ask them not to give your name.Hugs to you my monkey friend.

I really don't know Dolce.  I just know this couple who named their son that and they are all the time saying Cord this and Cord that and it does sound really good.

Also think about if he used the Riley with last name, and only first initial.

Like S. Riley LastName.  That needs to sound good as well.
